National Census Day.
I don’t think anyone will take kindly to April Fool’s jokes and pranks this year.

Thanks for the start, Chele. We could all use some luck right now. We are living April Fool's Day every day. Did you do your census? It was really easy to do online. The most difficult part was extracting from Dale his family origins. All he could come up with was England. Anything new in your part of the world?
Kathy, I just heard that your governor says he is waiting on direction from the federal government regarding a stay home order. I said outloud, "aren't we all?" I guess he's more interested in Trump's affection than that of the people who elected him. But, since Trump is now a FL resident, I guess he's also a potential voter there. I hope all Floridians will remember this the next time DeSantis runs for office--any office. Are you still unseasonably warm? We're still in the 40s, which feels frigid after being in the 80s last week. Did you place your grocery order yet? I hope you'll be able to get everything on your list.
How's the hand, Linda? What's on your agenda for the day? What's for dinner?
Becky, I know you're happy to be rid of that nasty big bandage. How does the knee look? Are the compression hose more comfortable? How was pain and torture?
I heard from Liz yesterday on her trip home and posted an update last night. If she gets a spare moment, she might check in, but she is doing training for a special rollout today, so I'm not expecting she'll have time for much else.
I used my new shoes on the treadmill this morning and they are amazing! I have a special pattern with the shoe laces, making the ones that came with the shoes way too long. Fortunately, I ordered a pair of speed laces so I can customize those. Quiet day here. Might just do some herb webinars. Stay safe and healthy, Chicks!

glad your shoes worked out..big difference.
Yea, no bandage, Becky.
another pain in the neck...not supposed to let people touch your dog...transfers germ to next person like touching an object. Micki cries when he sees someone he likes and I will not let him get near. explain that to dogs. sigh
We have a neighborhood cat that enjoys strolling past the font window and watching the dog go nuts. Either it left us a bird head in front of our doorstep or one of the hawks dropped it!
DH finished the vacuuming. i dusted the whole house (three bedrooms, office, family room, dining living, room with plant shelves at top of walls and big plantation shutters and ceiling fans. that was no fun, especially a LOT of bookshelves. Then I used Bona on the laminated hardwood floors. So except for kitchen, the house is clean again.
My reward was ordering three puzzles from the closed bookstore nearby for curbside pickup. i feel like germs will attack me the minute I step out of the car.
Tonight will be nice pork chops braised over saurkraut and beer with German bread dumplings and cucumber salad. The sauerkraut is put into the pan after I saute it in butter or chopped slice of bacon, chopped apples, onions (or cheat and use half cup applesauce) and a pinch of cumin. The it gets cooked with a bottle of beer, chops on too for a hour. You get nice mild, soft Bavarian sauerkraut with Fork tender meat.

Chele, thanks for the start. I agree, it's not a good time for April Fool's pranks. I haven't done my census yet, but may try and get to it tonight. I got some disposable gloves from Walmart.com thanks to your recommendation. They are coming in handy.
Karen, I keep thinking we're living in Groundhog's Day, but April Fool's would do too. I'm glad you're happy with your new shoes. DeSantis is firmly attached to Trump, but our previous governor Rick Scott was just as bad. Finally! He issued a 30 day stay at home order for the whole state today.
This whole grocery shopping thing is a marathon. My shopper started around two and there was about an hour of approving substitutions. I had TP in my cart, but all I got was a picture of the empty TP aisle! Other than that, she made really similar substitutions and I got everything in the order. I had her leave things just inside the garage, so we didn't get closer than 20 feet or so. Then I had about another hour of doing all the decontamination and taking a shower afterwards. The dry goods are quarantined in a big box in the guest bedroom and the fridge and freezer stuff is on one side in older plastic bags. I don't plan to touch any of it for a couple of days. This was a big order, so that should be it for me for around a month other than fresh produce.
Tomorrow I'll take some things DM ordered over to her and exchange them for some things she ordered for me last week. We will just leave things on the edge of her garage. I didn't know how good I had it when all I had to do was take her to the store each week! We decided to alternate orders and will just piggy back off of each others orders. It gives me an excuse to run my car too.
Linda, that's tough on Micki (and you!) not to let anyone touch him. I had most of a dead pigeon left on my front doorstep one day and I'm guessing it was the hawk. Dinner sounds good.
Becky, yay on getting the bandage off!
Liz, thanks for the updates through Karen. Thinking of you!

Thanks for the start Chele.
Karen The bad thing about allowing the governors to put a place in order is they are trying to exempt churches. That's what Abbott did and I think that's what the FL did.Abbott will not come out and say shelter in place for anything. Our low was 44 this morning but it was a beautiful day and got up to 77.I took the bandage off this morning when I woke up at 5:00.The incision looks good. There is one place that looks tender so I have been applying Neosporin just to ward off an infection.I ditched the compression socks because if I haven't developed a clot or swollen in the calves by now it's more than likely not happening. It was beautiful so Pain & torture decided we would walk a little inside and outside the yard.It feels good to put pressure on it when walking like that but it does make it a little sore.We came back inside and did new exercises trying to get the muscles and new knee to become besties. My balance is better than before surgery so that's good.
Linda Poor Micki.
Kathy You are lucky to be able to get delivery.HEB delivers for a price like they all do and has curbside but both have time slots a week off.

Becky, glad you're making good progress! I'm surprised that our delivery times are still so good. On most days, you can take first available or you can reserve a time slot for the next day. It is expensive with all the fees and some prices are higher than in the stores.

Becky, forgot to mention that you're right that DeSantis exempted churches from the order. Tampa already had a stay in place order and they shut down a megachurch that was still having services with large congregations. They arrested the pastor under the public health emergency rules, but he is going to fight it. They said there were around 500 people at the service, so he's risking a lot of lives.

Kathy I saw they arrested him.I don't care what denomination you are including mine that's just plain wrong to endanger people like that. There is one pastor in LA who also says his church can't afford technology and he will keep their doors open. They should arrest him also.Abbott hasn't come out and said he is exempting churches but he thinks it's wrong to penalize churches who don't have money for online technology. He said they could hold Easter services in parking lots with cars parked in every other space or have services limited to 10 people at a time.Another idiot governor.

Becky, it's hard to believe that any church couldn't do a FB live or some other inexpensive way of broadcasting their services. They said the church in FL did have the technology to stream their services, so they can't even use that excuse.

It occurs to me that it is hard to pass the collection plate Sunday’s on the Internet?
Tired from housework, but it makes the day pass quicker..sat down and realized I had wet stuff in the washer and forgot to mow the lawn.
