Well, Boo, Hiss! Its snowing here. SIGH!
I got the bread machine going, pumpkin pie in the oven & cookies when the pie comes out. Pie & cookies compliments of Schwans...Easy baking!
Joyce, when we go for grocery pickup, they text when they are starting to fill our order, text when its done, then DH goes out to store parking lot in reserved spot & calls when he gets there. The lady then brings out the groceries & puts them in back of vehicle so DH doesn't even have to get out. They charge an extra $5 fee along with each grocery order which I happily pay. The pharmacy also brings it outside & they are usually gowned, masked & gloved. They don't have a drive up window.
I am going to spend the day reading & crosstitching I think. Not even going to turn the TV on for news.
Enjoy your weekend. I wish every health care worker in the world could be home with their families to enjoy a sunny Easter weekend. They are the ones who truly deserve our appreciation for being on the front lines of this ugly virus. They don't ask for praise, they just go out do what needs to be done even tho they are so darn tired at the end of their shifts they can hardly see straight. They are the true heres & I hope in some small way we can all pay them back somehow. Maybe just by staying home & doing our part helps. I hope so. I need to remember often how blessed I am to be able to stay home & stay safe. Many cannot!

My pizza place is having half off prices after 4:00 PM. They have a table set up by the door, they take your credit card information over the phone while ordering. You don't have to set foot in the restaurant. I have heard the servers/cooks are working for free. I left a $20 tip. I hope they make it.
Happy stay at home Easter everyone.
DT tweeted "HAPPY Good Friday!" on Friday. On the GDT someone posted: "yes, everyone enjoys a good crucifixtion." Another one posted that she would Venmo $50 to any reporter who asked him what actually happened on Good Friday. On a side note, I did always think it was weird to call it "Good" Friday.
OK, I had to google it, and Good Friday comes from the obsolete definition of "good" which was "pious or holy." Who knew?

I never knew that! I also never thought of asking Google. It's like having an encyclopedia at your finger tips.
We are living the Jetsons lives. But only if we remember. Lol.

Happy Easter if you celebrate and just Happy Sunday if you don't! It's dark, raining heavily, and we have thunder but yesterday was a beautiful day. Kind of reverse to what it should be for Easter. Later today we are under a threat for strong storms and possibly even tornadoes. Like all of you, this is not the Easter we would prefer but we'll make the best of it. We'll attend church online, as for several weeks now our church has only been online. Not the same, but still very meaningful. It's all in how you approach it. IMHO worship can happen anywhere in many, many ways. We "splurged" and had blueberry muffins for breakfast--just the packaged mix kind, but still good. Calories don't count on holidays, right? I had a pork tenderloin in the freezer which I'll cook. I have potatoes on boiling now for potato salad (an Easter essential in our family). I have butternut squash, and I'll come up with another vegetable side. I've texted with DD and DGKs already, but will talk with them later in the day. We'll talk with my two step-sons also. Wishing you each a lovely and very blessed Easter!

My heart goes out to all those who are not having a Happy day today.
Those people that had loved ones die from this man made virus. They could not even give their loved ones a proper burial, because their bodies were dumped in mass graves! Do you feel the greatness yet?
My thoughts are also with those who are sick now and those who are caring for them. Families as well as health care professionals. Who, by the way, are running out of supplies, working long hours, and don't see their loved ones enough. They are my heros! I celebrate their lives!
Not a Happy day at all. Not a day for celebration for me anyway.
We have a killer virus out there and a monster in The Peoples House.
Sorry, It ain't a Happy Day in my heart or head no matter what day is on the calender.
America is not great at all. Far, far from it!
More people died from this than on 9/11. Where is our outrage at the ghoul in the WH who wasted time and lives?

Bidenn has an opinion pice in Sunday today New York Times. Warren did April 8. Biden's pice filled me with hope today. Warren's pice told me she will be listened to by Biden partly/ warren is so smart. The Democrats proposal about two months of increased food share helped me today. I never had as high increases on my card for a person household. I am going to splurge tomorrow and buy vegan bowls . I was worried that I would not have enough to shop for food this month but today I do.

Wisconsin results come out tonight I hope. The state Supreme Court race is whatis vital. And there will be lawsuits if it is close. Biden was way ahead in the polls before we had the election and the election happened before Bernie dropped out. I know the canvas in Madison is at 4pm. I dont know if its just the city Orin the county does it with the city/ built it is listed as a city meeting for the Madison city clerk. I dont know bout the rest of the state's clerks/. The Election Commission tied with turn to allow the ballots without a post office post mark which usually never happens to ballots The vote is 16 percent down for Madison from 20616 which makes me thing we lost the race for Supreme Court which is why the Republicans wanted to hold it. Madison has to come out and Milwaukee does too. Vote was down there too. And a post office upstate had 2 bins of absentee ballots that were never delivered In Milwaukee too ballots were never delivered. And Madison in 2018 had a 90percent of registered voters turnout. In this election Madison had a 50 percent turnout. We elected a state Suprem court candidate in 2018 with a 90 percent Madison turnout vote versus a 50 percent turnout vote. this time. And in 2018 a big Milwaukee vote too. the Supreme Court is 5 to 2. If Jill is elected which seems unlike.y it will stay 5 to 2. are elected inn 2018 a Democratic governor too. Which was close. with a 90 percent turnout in Madison. Before that we had Walker and we would have had him again with the turnout we had April 7 with absentee and inperson and the absentee votes that cant be counted because of the US Supreme Court in Madison.

Smithfield pork closing plantsUgh -it's already hard to get fresh meats, I can imagine this will just push it further. We started getting beef and chicken from a local meat market instead of the big stores, because HEB, Kroger and walmart are always out right now. Not happy with the higher $$ but at least it's available.

When I put in my last order of Schwan's, there was a shortage of meat as well. My Schwan's driver said that last week the depot where they supply their trucks didn't even get any thing in. He said he was just filling preordered orders & going home early because his truck was empty. That was midmorning on the day he came to my house. He said he couldn't even guarantee there would be any more depot supplies filled by next week. So, no, it's not looking good for fresh meat.
I see, JA is calling for the firing of Dr Fauci. LOL Since Dr Fauci has a higher rating than JA, I'm sure he is all in now for getting rid of Fauci!
Has anyone noticed the commercials lately. I'm loving many of them. They are so many with just good old fashioned common sense, trying to bring people together, etc. & messages of comfort, hope & love. Usually I can't stand commercials.
Joyce, & others who live in the south, I hope you are safe & sound from the storms that swept thru last night.
Well, we are starting another week of uncertainty. Hang in there!

Yes, we are safe here. We just had lots and LOTS of rain and wind, but nothing serious. Some places south and east of us, however, were not nearly so fortunate. My heart goes out to them.
I agree it's to be expected that the JA wants to get rid of Fauci. We've all known he would. He's too big of a coward to come right out and say it himself, however, so he retweets one of his toadies. He'll scheme and plot until he thinks it's safe with Republicans to get rid of him. His base will always back him no matter what he does. I've totally given up on them. They left all reason behind long ago.
So far we haven't had a problem getting meat, but it looks like that's coming. I have an order from Schwan's to be delivered tomorrow evening. I ordered some steaks (Linda are those good?), and when I placed the order they were out of stock, but when I looked yesterday it appeared that they were back in stock. I will also place another grocery store order this week, so we'll see what happens about meat with that. Now that word is getting out that it may become scarce, people will likely start hoarding it like they did in the beginning with toilet paper and soap. I hope grocery stores will limit the amount that someone can buy of different items to help prevent that happening.
Linda, yes, I have noticed more positive commercials. They are appreciated.
Hang in there! We can do this!

Joyce, I haven't tried Schwan's steaks. I've heard from others that they were good tho. We have a really good meat department at our local grocery, so, I usually get my meat there. But, you are right, people will now panic & buy meat to stock their freezers.

I just got home from the store with my mask on. Rich did not get the masks he is supposed to get from his workplace. I eat 7 12 oz packages of corn a week. 4 portions of 2/3 cups for 4 meals a day mixed with potatoes. There was plenty of corn. But a woman was cleaning them out of peas. She had twice as much as I. They had plenty. I had no trouble with the russet potatoes. Ii got 4 bags. They must have had at least 100 there. I got grapes too. That's what I came for and it was there. I am going to report Rich too Megan. Vanessa is coming soon and she always wears a mask and even before also put on gloves. I wore gloves but took them off to wash meh hands there.

Fauci is the only captain steering this ship in the right direction. I agree. That's why the JA wants to get rid of him. Fauci doesn't tell him what he wants to hear, so off with his head. I know the virus itself is not the JA's fault, but I do lay the blame squarely at his feet for the extent and speed with which it has spread. I think that a number of deaths can be blamed strictly on him because he refused to listen to all the warnings he was being given. He refused to warn the public in a timely manner. He has drug his feet about getting supplies to the places which need them, and tried to blame everyone else. He's totally incompetent, and the entire country is having to pay the price for that. Even now there is no real system in place at the federal level for trying to distribute stockpiled supplies, stockpiled ventilators are not in repair, etc. But instead of issuing orders to get something done about it, he whines and blames the governors that they're not nice enough to him. I despise him with every fiber of my being, and I do blame him that we are as unprepared as we are for this. He has blood on his hands.
