Good morning.

We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.

Good morning! Happy Thursday.
I am up and dressed. I actually put on a little makeup today so I don't look like a zombie.
Not much to report here. It is supposed to be warmer here today but windy.
I am watching the news some in the morning and then again in the evening. I watch the local news just to get an update on what is going on here. Other than that, during the day I have Pandora on my favorite country station.
We had an all hands - stop work conference call yesterday. We have one tech who has tested positive for the virus. He was at work on Friday and in the ER on Sunday with pneumonia. We have 2 other techs who are in quarantine for the next 12 days because they worked with him on Friday. We are keeping in communication with them all. I have not been around any of the techs in weeks so I should be fine.
I want to try to get out of the house today for a walk or something.

Good morning and happy Thursday to all.
Brrrrrr! Another chilly start to the day at 39 degrees. But it's supposed to be sunny all day and get up to 66. So maybe this afternoon I'll get a little outside time. I hope so. It looks like we have okay weather through the weekend and rain coming back for Mon, Tue & Wed. So we should be able to get the mow done this weekend. After all the rain earlier this week, it already needs it again. I saw a FB memory pop up either yesterday or the day before and it was last year when I had posted about doing the entire place with the push mower. It was over 11 miles clocked on my fitbit that day, and over 4+ hours I think. Cripes! I really appreciate that John Deere! Haha.
Janet - So glad that they settings change fixed you battery life display. That would definitely make it difficult if you couldn't see that.

Good morning Jana! I woke up at 5:45, turned on the coffee maker and then got dressed. No makeup for me yet, but that would generally just mean a little eyeliner. Lol.
Even though me staying home all the time is not a HUGE change for me, having DH here all of the time is pretty impactful. After the first week I realized how important it is going to be for us to keep some normalcy in our days. So I fully agree that getting dressed and putting on a little make-up is good for the psyche. I think it just helps us to feel more connected to our normal life.
I can see the sun coming up and peeking between the trees across the road. It's bright orange, so I hope that means it will warm up quickly. We had pepperoni pizza for supper last night and it was really tasty. Today I'm going to pop a roast in the crockpot. I'm using the "Italian Beef" recipe that cooks it with pickled banana peppers and pepperoncini. I LOVE that recipe. I suppose I'll make some cheesy cauli-rice bake as a side. DH loves that. It's our last bag of frozen cauli-rice for now. Yikes. Haha. I suppose at some point we'll be able to get to somewhere that carries it to restock. Our little local spot does not have it.
Anyway, I guess I'm kind of rambling. I need to go get that roast in the crock pot. I'll check back later.

Lora we were posting at the same time.
I got up and decided to switch out the blinds in my office with the ones in my bedroom. We really need new blinds on most of our windows, any that our pups can get to, get messed up pretty quickly if we do not leave them open enough for them to stick there head in the window. The bedroom window faces the back of the house and trees so to me those are not as important as the window that faces the front of the house. The sun is shining in my office this morning and blinding me. So I may end up on Amazon today and order some new blinds for through out the house.
Janet glad you got the last tablet delivered and got your phone fixed.
I think I am going to go make another cup of coffee breakfast was some left over steak that we had with some melted butter.

Good Morning...got up early to get to the COSTCO senior time. You know me--the person who is always late? Well, I was early. I am just now getting my morning coffee.
Jana - you could never look like a zombie - lol! This is pretty crazy, but I put on make-up every day...not much but a little. You guys are right...I am really enjoying my coffee...whenever I get around to it that is....
Lora - Oh man, I remember when you did that...what a woman...and you wondered if you could do it all the time??? Crazy girl - ha. My ODD told me that my YDD was starting to have a hard time with her DBF staying with her til he goes back to CA - ha. ODD told her she needed a bigger house with 2 floors so one of them could be upstairs... She said she could not afford that in Boston - ha. I guess if even young love is having a hard time... you guys are doing great!
Janet - you are busy this morning...sounds like you have your schedule set for the day.
That pilates class I took yesterday over zoom has my abs so sore already... are you starting to feel better from the gardening Jana?
OH, last night the neighbors decided to put luminaries or candles out &/or lights in the windows to honor all of those on the front lines (nurses, EMTs, doctors, etc). It was so cool...

Me again! The roast is starting to smell wonderful already!
Susie - The luminaries are a great idea. I saw on FB where Huntsville has organized an event to show support as well. Empty business parking lots that surround the local hospitals have been identified and cleared by property owners to allow for this. To be clear, this is not in anyway hospital parking, but business lots like insurance agents, law offices, etc., so not parking that would be utilized at all during the events designated times. Anyway it has also been cleared with local law enforcement and the city authorities. And each evening between 6:15 and 7:45 people can drive their cars to the designated lots and sit with their flashers on. All of the lots can be seen from the hospital, and it's a show of support for medical personnel and any patients as well. They're giving this a go with the strict understanding that people will stay in cars with windows up. And unless they're out for a necessities run, it's a drive, park and go straight home kind of event. I thought that was kind of cool.

Hi everyone,
Lora, the pizza sounds good. I must say, sometimes you just want to have it, and I have been craving it lately! I laughed about you being so grateful for that John Deere....I am not dreading mowing as much, knowing that it gets done so much faster with my new one (this will be its 2nd summer). Susie, the luminarias sound so pretty. I love to see those when they are in a large grouping. Every year on the first Saturday of December, volunteers go out and set them up all over the battlefield in Sharpsburg....one for each soul lost on that day, and it is stunning to see. People line up for miles to drive through and see them.
Jana, sorry to hear your co-workers are now sick. Boy, that is how this thing is going. One day you are great and 3 days later you're in ICU. It is completely unpredictable, how it will affect each person. And being young and healthy is not the benefit many thought it was. Glad you weren't around them recently! You know, I really should replace some blinds, too. They aren't in terrible shape, but they are getting some years on them, and those strings eventually wear out and break, and they look ratty!
Working from home is ok. I would like to set up downstairs instead of up in the loft. I am getting REALLY tired of going up and down the darn stairs so much! HA! I am thinking about using the dining room, but I'm not sure. The dogs are not bothering me too much. My little girl was really sick today though, and I kept having to go check on her. She had some rice and a little juice from some chicken I cooked, and she seemed like she had her appetite back. I didn't give her much, and she is resting now, so I think it was just right. I also gave her an anti-nausea pill that I had left from when my little Stella got so sick. They are almost the exact same size. I think she is going to be fine now. My ODD called today and really doesn't want me to work my shift at the station on Saturday. I would rather not, but everyone else is pulling their shifts, and I am not special. I need to be there, as much as they do. Am I a little terrified? Yes. I will use my fear to make sure that my PPE is perfectly in place. Of course, the county is running out of gowns, so they got us raincoats to wear after that. Sigh. At least the weather is supposed to be good, so it will be nice to be out. Well, I am going to see what I want for dinner, and maybe go for a walk. I will most likely be back tomorrow. Hope you all have a great Friday!

Popping to say hello, but I am sure that you guys might read it tomorrow.
In Manhattan, they are doing "Clap for a Cause". DDIL sent me a video they took out of their window. It was amazing, people were not only clapping and shouting, but clanging pots. They live on the Upper East Side, so pretty amazing to hear. My friend lives on the other side of the park, in The Dakota, which is the building where John Lennon was shot, and she posted the same video on Facebook, and it sounded the same. Around here a lot of organizations and restaurants are teaming up to donate food to the hospitals.
Jana, scary when you start to hear about people testing positive, and I am sure you will be hearing more as time goes on. The longer it took for states to jump on the bandwagon, the longer it is going to take for this thing to be over.
Susie, glad you and DH are keeping yourselves busy with online classes. Funny what you are saying about YDD. One of my BFF's got engaged recently and is planning a wedding for October. I called her yesterday to see if the wedding was still on. Not because of what will be then, but because I was wondering if they were getting sick of each other yet. It turns out that because he is a dentist, and his office is about 40 minutes from her house, he just stays there for the day to handle emergencies, which is all he can handle. She said it doesn't make sense for him to run back and forth when someone needs him.
Lora, definitely something different when your DH is around all the time. Me and my DH try to stay out of each others way, whether we are in the office or the house.
RobinMD, stay safe. Everyone is pulling their shifts around here for everything.
