Becky, that's a huge jump in cases for Travis County. Just about every place that has happened, however, the cases continue to climb. Congrats on filling your entire list at HEB. I had heard that WM was severely limiting how many people can be in the store at the same time. Are you sore today? That would be great to be well enough to end PT early.
Thanks for all the ideas on masks, Linda. I have a couple of t-shirt remnants in the dryer and hope to work on them this afternoon. Did you hear the president said he doesn't plan to wear one? His excuse was that he didn't think it would be something he wanted to do hosting dignitaries in the WH. Nobody's traveling right now so how many dignitaries are going to be there anyway?
Chele, I hope the back is getting better. My DeMeyere pan came yesterday. I might have to break it in today.
Get some rest, Liz. Were you ahead of the curve on wearing a mask during your commute?
Kathy, good luck with the masks you ordered. I hope they arrive quickly so maybe you can go out in public once in a while. Did you do the live Jazzercise class today? Are the weekend classes different from the weekday ones? I used to find that with similar classes at gyms I've belonged to.
Busy day here. Arya needs a bath so that will be happening today. She's been scratching a lot so I need to find the oatmeal shampoo. That also means changing the bed and furniture covers, so lots of extra laundry. I'm dealing with a major case of "pandemic hair" so I have to figure out how to tame the locks. And, I just found out that Covid-19 has taken Bill Withers from us. Guess we will be missing some Lovely Days. So sad....Happy Saturday, Chicks!

Thanks for the start Karen.Yes WM is limiting the amount of customers plus they put one way aisles in so someone can't come in and get too close to anyone in any aisle.HEB has done everything except that. The lines at HEB are usually long and sometime wrap around the store.I am sore today and I'm icing more. The only problem with not doing home health PT none of the PT clinics are taking new patients right now and even though I have been to the one in Elgin since I had the replacement done they consider me a new patient.I heard yesterday about Bill Withers.I love his song Lean on Me and we have watched that movie twice.
Kathy Where did you order your masks from?
I noticed about 90% of the customers in HEB yesterday were wearing some kind of masks although they were mainly paper masks which I don't know how safe that is.I heard WM is giving their employees masks and gloves.

Karen, thanks for the start. I saw that Bill Withers died of heart complications, so I'm not sure if Covid-19 was involved or not. Very sad either way. I remember Ain't No Sunshine from when I was in high school and Lean on Me was another great song. My understanding of these cloth masks is that they don't protect you from getting the virus, but they protect others from getting it from you. They don't make me feel any more confident about going out in public unfortunately. But, I feel like I should have one in case I do need to go out.
Becky, if you search for "buff headbands" on Amazon, that's what I ordered. Different brands will come up, so it doesn't have to be one of the buff ones. They're headbands that can also be worn as masks. Watch out for the shipping since some of them were ridiculous. I did find some that had Prime shipping. The paper masks I saw on there didn't look too great, so I decided to give these a try.

.So today is clean bathroom day again...boy time seems slow on stay at home but gets by fast on chores! Washed the rugs and shower curtain which is drip drying on my retractable clothes line. We never use that tub/shower in the hall but the curtain hangs a foot from toilet. EUW.
Yesterday I made five masks..first one a bit icky...and two just went next door to neighbors. He has heart issues and is getting shots in his eye for occlusion.
DH fetched a curbside cheesesteak special with salad, chips and Italian lemon soda from the Sicilian family place on the corner. I will heat it up for dinner later.
Next up...dog bath!

Becky, that's amazing about HEB lines wrapping around the store. Are they maintaining 6 foot distances in line? Take it easy and ice today and hopefully yu will be feeling better tomorrow. Woud there be more PT options at the clinic? Are they saying when they might reopen? Bill Withers apparently died on Monday but it didn't make the news until yesterday. The masks being recommended now are fabric ones, I wonder if they would do any better than the paper ones. Here's an article on whether there might be benefits: Wearing Masks. I think some of the local supermarkets have approved their staff to wear masks and gloves, but I haven't heard who is providing them. Have you heard if the positives in Austin jumped a bunch again? Social distancing seems to be working here. Knox County only has one new case since yesterday and our local counties have no new cases in the past couple of days, even though they have increased testing. I read after I posted that they were saying heart complications for Bill Withers, Kathy. I saw an article today that Sweden is only counting deaths from Covid-19 in people that don't have underlying medical problems, so their deaths are a lot lower than other countries. For the people who have underlying conditions, they are essentially calling the condition the cause of death and the Covid just sped things along. It's kind of hard to be on a level playing field if we're not all playing by the same rules. From the article I posted above, a mask may keep you from infecting others if you are positive but asymptomatic. But it may also provide some protection if you are around someone who is coughing or sneezing because the main method of transmission is large droplets that get propelled from coughing or sneezing. I ran across one of my buffs while I was looking for a bandana to tie my hair back today for the treadmill. I started sewing one of my t-shirt face masks by hand but it was a bit difficult. I need to figure out how to thread the big sewing machine so I can use it tomorrow. I'm a bit intimidated there. Linda, that's a good use for the plastic grocery bags. I've been wearing gloves when I pump gas, which hasn't been that often of late. Dale took a rolling cart with him when he went to the store last week and, unbeknownst to him, the bagger put everything in plastic grocery bags before putting them into the cart. They definitely get into a routine with those bags. I unpacked out in the garage and all those bags went into the plastic bag recycling.

.By the way, it takes a lot longer to finish up the bathroom when you have to clean out and arrange a six foot wall of linen cabinet to find the other stupid shower curtain to put up!
We have some paper masks coming that I ordered quite a while ago, but cloth ones you can wash, dry in the sun and keep using.

Karen No HEB doesn't keep people in line 6' apart. At first they thought a cart was 6' apart but it's really only 4'.The register area keeps people 6' apart and you can't even put your groceries on the conveyor belt until the other person's groceries have been sacked and they have paid for it.I try to stay away from others in the aisles but a lot of people don't pay any attention to that which is why I like Walmart's idea of one way aisles. There would be more PT options at the clinic. They could use moist compresses plus use the recumbent bike and stretches on the tables. Home health PT has me do quite a few stretches and he has upped my count from 10 to 15 when he was here Friday.I don't think the clinic at the surgeon's office will reopen until the virus is gone and the clinic in Elgin I'm not sure if they are closed but home health told me they weren't taking new clients right now.Even when I can go it will be twice a week. The positive cases jumped to 460 in Travis County I think from 430 yesterday plus 2 more deaths for a total of 6 deaths.I think Bastrop County has 10 cases but no deaths.

Keeping up with posts but typing still painful. I am improving and actually went down the stairs today. Sitting is still problematic but standing is better and I can now bend halfway. I am glad you are all doing well a d that you are making progress Becky. Things still look scary for Liz in NY. Our local Kroger can no longer do delivery due to lack of personnel. We are trying pickup tomorrow for the first time. They have waived the fee. I placed the order Thursday and Monday was the first available pickup time. GF sent me a pic of her wearing a homemade bandanna mask. She felt like she should be saying “Stick’em up!” 2 young men were cruising the neighborhood in a pickup truck with lawn mower. Iggy was digging weeds in the front flowerbed. One of the young men approached him without mask or gloves a d tried to give him a business card for yard services. Iggy told him to back up and refused the card. I was watching from the upstairs window as the young man stormed off and threw the card on our driveway. Apparently, some people still have no concept of social distancing. This is all I can do to catch-up right now. Stay safe.

Wow, I can imagine it is hard for stores to deliver. Amazon prioritizes now. I have been going to the corner store when there are not many cars...once a week or longer. Usually be 8 to 15 feet away or in an empty aisle.
NYC is like Steven King novel.
the rest of us should not feel so secure as they figure for ever positive test there are ten more who did not get tested and show now symptoms. That is the reason for masks, so those who do not know do not pass it on.
Thus morning DH walked dog and there were little kids on bikes and a mom In the empty church lot. Then another mom came up to her and her kids joined the others, then another set. People have this idea play dates are ok.
So this morning, having run out of Eggo for our usual Sunday breakfast, I tried out the little single waffle maker I got on sale after Christmas...not bad, but took time, Froze some.
Finally fertile the pots, the gardens and the two orange trees. Washed throw blankets to put away and a load of towels.
Would you believe I put out a couple strings of multicolor Xmas lights around our entry and allowing the sidewalk.I guess in some places this is a thing now, but deliveries have been coming after dark. They need light and a little cheer.
Going to work on my puzzle and make stuffed shells for supper.

Linda, that's a HUGE linen cabinet! That could definitely lengthen out the cleaning time. Hadn't thought about drying cloth masks in the sun. It's going to take me a little longer to make mine than I anticipated. I tried to figure out DMIL's Kenmore machine today and, even though it's 55 years old, it's way more sophisticated than I need, and the manual that came with it isn't all that helpful. So I'll be setting up the portable machine on top of the in-cabinet model tomorrow. You're right about NYC and Stephen King. Poor Liz!! It's scary how many positive cases are out there and don't even know it. Social distancing still doesn't seem to compute for some people. Our elderly neighbors had guest this weekend. I hope they don't suffer for their hospitality. Frozen waffles are much quicker, but the homemade ones are so much tastier. But now you have frozen homemade ones so best of both worlds. There are several neighborhoods in Knoxville that were encouraging homeowners to put up Christmas lights to make things cheerier. I'll bet people are enjoying yours. Enjoy your stuff shells.
I wonder, Becky, how many people in the HEB lines will become infected. I heard something about how WM plans to limit people in their stores. They let in something like 6 people per 1000 sq ft of store space. I can't believe there won't be times when everyone will be in the same general area, however. If you get through all your home PT stuff and then the center opens a few weeks later, will you be able to get orders to go to the clinic? Did Travis County's covid cases jump a bunch again today? We have only gained one case locally, but Knox County's cases are up about 20% since Friday. I would love to see Knox County extend the stay at home order until the end of the month. Bastrop hasn't had any new cases for a few days, correct?
Chele, good to hear from you and I'm glad you're making some progress. Krogers around here are trying to hire folks but I don't know if those positions are for delivery. I hope your pickup order is successful and you get everything on your list. LOL about GF and her bandit mask. I would be afraid to walk into a bank or liquor store with one of those, but I'll bet it's happening with some frequency these days. The local news showed some pitures of local stores and people were mostly wearing masks. Good that they aren't following the poor example of our president.
How's your heat, Kathy? We're in the 70s, so I'll bet you're at least upper 80s. We have bright sunshine and it's been a beautiful day. Windows are open and we'll be dining on the screened porch.
Liz, hope you have had a restful weekend.
I had to get out of the house late morning so I took a drive around the neighborhood to charge up the battery on the car. I found a place about 3 miles away where I think I can park the car and walk that street and get in a good couple of miles that's not so hilly as it is closer to home. Did some laundry and figured out the sewing machine stuff. Also ordered a smaller self-healing cutting mat and a few yards of fabric and will have it shipped. I think I will go out one day this week to drop off recycling but that might be it.

Chele, glad you're improving a bit. Our delivery still seems to be doing well, but maybe it's due to all the college students in the area. I would guess a lot of them lost part time jobs. I will do pickup too if delivery goes away. I really want to avoid going in anywhere for now. That's unbelievable on the guy approaching Iggy. I check to make sure nobody is walking nearby when I get my mail. You might know when I went to get the mail yesterday, a former coworker pulls up in his car and starts to chat with me. We were more than 6 ft apart, but I really wanted to get back inside!
Linda, I was relieved to see my zip code wasn't one of the worst areas, but I definitely don't feel secure. I did see where FL has been doing more testing than most states, but it's still a small percent. I noticed one of my neighbors has some Christmas lights up.
Karen, you would lose that bet, lol! It's only in the 60s right now and we've been having a nice, steady rain since this morning. I finally found a time when it's peaceful out on the porch-- when it's raining! Otherwise, there are lots of people outside and dogs barking. The hawk flew right in front of me and landed on his perch and I saw a little blue heron walking around. I took the car out in the rain to help wash the pollen off and to charge up the battery. I hesitate to wash my car in the driveway right now due to the parade of people walking by. That's good that you found a nice place to walk.
Becky, that's crazy about the lines at HEB. I wonder if some times are less crowded than others.
Liz, hope you're having a restful weekend.

Two years ago I had to replace my sewing machine...and it has computerized stitching. I have to relearn bob in winding and machine threading and stitch selection every time!

Chele I'm glad your back is doing a bit better.I'm sure it is still painful. Thanks for the good thoughts.I hope you feel better soon. You are lucky to get delivery so soon. HEB's first time slot was after Easter.I did schedule a pickup for that week on things I need all the time. They are also waiving all curbside fees. You are so right on some people not getting it about social distancing.Austin had their stay home order before ours and there are still people too close in the parks.
Karen The surgeon gave me orders for outpatient PT at the same time he wrote the orders for additional home health.I think one employee at HEB was a presumptive case. There are a total of 10 in Bastrop County but as far as the employee who knows when she last worked in the store.News is limited to early morning and evening news on the weekend so I have no idea about Travis County cases today. Our stay at home order even as loose as it is remains though the end of the month.Elgin already closed their recycling place on Friday indefinitely.
Kathy There are times when the lines at HEB aren't bad and sometimes no lines at all.
Liz I'm hoping you were able to get some rest in this weekend. You have got to be beyond exhausted mentally and physically.
