Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.

Oh goodness it's early here, 1:45am to be exact. I feel fine and well rested, but I know that I'll probably hit a slump this afternoon.
We had the best simple dinner last night. Oven baked chicken drumsticks. This whole shelter in place thing is really providing me an opportunity to use up items in the freezer and not waste anything. Those had been in the freezer for some time, but were in the vacuum packaging from Costco, so were not freezer burned or anything. I'm not even sure why I bought those as I generally am not a big fan of any chicken other than wings (I think all those years of WW just kind of burned me out on chicken). These turned out tender and juicy, with lots of flavor and a nice crispy skin. We really enjoyed them.
I didn't get much outside time yesterday. It kept flipping back and forth between sunny and cloudy. But either way, it was just little too hot and humid to be comfortable, and there was no breeze at all.
Today I express my gratitude for: *Strong, hot coffee that is plentiful. *Chicken Drumsticks in the freezer that didn't go to waste and helped me add variety to our menu. *My RO family who puts up with my quirkiness.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***Being positive doesn't mean that you don't ever have negative thoughts. It simply means that you do not allow them to control your emotions, your outlook and your life.***

Good morning.
We did an Instacart order last night and it was the worst experience ever with Instacart. Dude did not show up with my stuff until 10 p.m. and he didn't have half the stuff on my list. I know people are hoarding stuff but some of the stuff I ordered rice cauliflower and frozen green beans - I don't think so. Now I have to go to the store for myself because I am out of some of the very basics.
Ugh gotta run - work is already ramping up this morning.

Jana - UGH. So sorry your order was missing so much. If your shopper shopped so late, then I'm not surprised though. Most grocery stores restock over night, so by the evening they may have had slim pickings. Everything, including the frozen veggies have been hit or miss for me during this whole ordeal. Be safe and take precautions, girlfriend. I don't have any type of deliver options here or I would try them. My closest grocery pick-up option is 25 miles away. So, I guess I'll just be sticking with my little Mom & Pop here on the mountain as necessary and dealing with getting what we can. For whatever reason, staying close to home just feels safer. I'm sure that's not necessarily the case, but in my mind it is. Lol

Lora your thoughts about closer to home being safer are probably true. Your mom and pop store probably has less traffic than a Kroger or Sam's club in a larger area. I just don't have a mom and pop place close to me. You are probably right about the delivery. It was just incredibly frustrating. And by the way - we all have our quirks! That is what makes us so delightful.
So my Pop just told me he would like for me to make breakfast for him every morning "since I am here anyway now". Ummm no that is not going to happen. He has a variety of things he can microwave here and he is more than welcome to make himself his own eggs. (that is what he wants every morning, fresh eggs, sausage or bacon and grits) We got him his favorite cereal and I keep milk just for him plus microwave biscuits and jimmy dean bowels. That is just incredibly frustrating to me that he thinks just because I am here I should cook for him. I know my mom did it for 50 years. I need a Pops break. I might just take the long way to the grocery and back later today.
I have a conference call at noon today. Once that is done I am going to scoot out and pick up my groceries.
I have some different odds and ends to work on for work - but it isn't too busy.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Today (or later today) I am thankful for long sunny car rides.

Jana - oh dang, yeah I can see where that whole breakfast situation would get incredibly frustrating for you. I don't blame you, I'd be taking the scenic route as well. FYI, I just saw this morning that Kroger is taking steps to limit how many customers are in that store at one time in an attempt to make things safer for both customers and associates. IDK what that will mean as far as getting into the store. I hope it won't create long lines or customer frustration. I certainly understand though. I'm FB friends with a ton of my old co-workers and one posted yesterday how a customer coughed right into her face. Ugh.
Well supper tonight will be simple again. I just made some HB eggs in the IP and made some into deviled eggs and the others are just for snacking, quick lunches, etc. I'm thawing a package of Costco Smoked Pulled Pork. And found a long lost bag of frozen green beans in the back of the freezer that I'm going to season and cook up. By the time this is all over, my freezer will be pristinely empty. haha

Hi all, later in the afternoon, I guess the end of your day Lora. You have to get yourself turned around somehow. I ended up with a fairly decent night's sleep last night. I fell asleep around midnight, which is not too bad as of late, then woke up around 3, and then 6:30, but fell back to sleep until 8:10.
Funny thing about sticking closer to home, one of the jokes I saw was, "My car is now getting 3 weeks to a gallon".
Jana, not surprised that they were out of the frozen veggies. It is not that people are hoarding it, it is that it keeps for the week, and they don't have to worry about it having the virus on it.
We are having a nice day here weather-wise. But not much else. Working, and not really accomplishing enough, I am getting too sidetracked. I am going to be doing a lot of work to get holiday meals ready just for me and DH for tomorrow and Thursday, but DH wants to do everything we normally do.

Hello Hello ROs - up early to get to Walmart for SS (senior shopping)...I got a few food items, but what I really wanted was plastic Easter eggs and wrapped candy. I decided to go with your OK (and I checked with DD too) and get eggs to fill and hide for the DGKs. I came home, dumped them all in soapy water, washed them, dried them, and I am ready to fill them. Wow, never before would I have washed plastic eggs to put wrapped candy in them. Also, I made DGS a mask, and asked the sewers to make a mask for DS and DDIL. My DD's MIL is quite a seamstress and she is making them for DD and family. Lora - my goodness...1:45 Tell me how you hb eggs in the IP...it only talks 10 minutes on the stove, but in the IP I wouldn't have to watch it so much. Jana - one of my DF said that to place an order and get it, you now had to wait several days? I saw an employee gathering supplies when I was at Walmart this morning... I am guessing that is what they were doing. Beautiful right now, but it is supposed to get really windy, and maybe rain (?) and I heard possible tornado..but just a slim chance. DH is sitting outside while he can.

Me again!
Susie - HB eggs are the easiest ever with the IP. Now it depends on the model you have, my MILs has a specific Hard Boiled Egg button. Mine has a bunch of buttons, but is 1st generation and that is not one of them. haha. I just put in the little metal trivet that came with it. Add about 3/4 cup of water, set my eggs on the trivet. I've done as few as 10 and as many as 18 at a time. I use the "manual" setting and set it for 4 minutes and use the Quick Release when it's done. As soon and the pressure is gone, I use my tongs to take them out and put them in a big bowl with a cold water/ice bath. And start peeling them immediately. I swear, it is the easiest I've ever removed the shell from an HB egg. It practically slides right off. One thing to note, is you might have to play around with the timer a little bit to find the perfect time for your cooker. The bigger ones will require less time, and smaller capacity cookers may require a bit more. I started with 6 minutes, but ended up working my way down to 4. Six minutes was a bit too long and the yolk got that greenish/gray around the edge - which I know doesn't change the taste, but I don't like the way it looks.
RobinS - Yeah, I'm forcing myself to stay up and keep going today. I'm could definitely take a nap, but I think the best way to get my sleep schedule straight is just to stay up and hopefully tonight I'll sleep through. Hopefully. Ha! And yes, we're most definitely not spending as much right now. Both our food and our gas line are WAY under budget. So I guess there is a little bright spot to be thankful for.

Good evening everyone.
I got to the store and got all the things that my shopper missed last night. I had actually placed this order last Friday and yesterday was the soonest delivery. I had no idea it would be at 10 p.m. when they got here. Anyway - I was able to get into Kroger and get what I wanted. The only thing they did not have was rice (which is fine by me because I don't eat it anyway - it is more for Pop than anything) They were also out of their heavy whipping cream. I got another brand but I really like the Kroger brand.
Lora I could tell they were getting this store ready for letting a few people in at a time. They had the sidewalk roped off and X's on the ground 6 feet part all the way down the side walk. They were putting up signs on the doors that could only enter and exit in the one door. I guess they will start tomorrow or maybe the weekend - IDK. At this point I should be good for 2 weeks before I need anything else.
Lora I hope you get your sleep turned around. Susie on the news tonight they showed a family with 2 pre teen boys. Apparently the boys had been fighting with each other a lot since school has been out. The mom pulled out sewing machines and as their punishment for fighting with each other, they have to make masks. Turned out that both of the boys were really enjoying it and feeling proud that what they were doing was going to be helping people. It showed a clip of the boys sewing with masks and gloves on.
Janet and RobinMD - hope you had uneventful days today and are both ok.
RobinS you are a better person than me because I would not be doing a lot of cooking for just 2 people. I am lazy that way. I can understand wanting to keep some sort of routine but I would want to make a smaller meal.

Hi Everyone, Had a decent day today overall. I didnt do all that much for work today. I completed one training and submitted it. Communicated with two parents via texting for a few minutes. One parent told me her child dropped her tablet by accident and it is broken. I told her I was sorry it was broken but we wont be able to replace it. They are not the best quality according to my friend but they are also providing 6 months of internet service so its a shame it is already broken and it has been just a week ago that they received them. I went out for a few minutes to Target to buy the brand of cereal my friend wanted and then dropped it off. Her husband's prognosis is very slim right now so even tho it is put in a thougtful prayer for him and her. The sad thing is that as usual she isnt preparing for when it actually happens. She doesnt want to think about it I guess until it actually happens and then she will be in a panic. I prepared the charoset which is a mixture of shredded apples, nuts, wine and cinnamon. We spread on the matzah during the seder ceremony. I let it sit overnight in the refrigerator and it becomes more of a mixture as it thickens. Have a great rest of the night.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to stop and say hi...I was off today, but WFH the rest of the week. On Monday, I was able to take care of a lot of paperwork and letters, and things I couldn't do at home, so I should be pretty well caught up to start tomorrow. It was pretty busy yesterday, but we saw mostly "healthy" patients (but we don't really know who is healthy and who is not, so we wear full PPE with a patient in front of us). We also had several sick virtual visits. We are starting to see a lot more of our patients' tests come back and a lot of positives. I don't mind being busy...some employees in other offices are getting furloughed. That would mess me up pretty bad, but I don't anticipate that yet, for anyone in my office.
I don't think I mentioned it lately, but after my dryer got delivered, I used it and the bathroom got all steamy, and it wasn't blowing out the outside vent. Well....I checked the back, and the vent hose was not attached on either end. It was put together so poorly, that when they moved the dryer back, it came apart. Of course, none of us checked for that event. Anyway, I finally needed to fix it, so I managed to get myself back there, took lots of time to fit both ends and secure them (I also compressed the hose, and made it fit better back there). So, then came extricating myself from behind the dryer without moving it any more, and keeping the hose perfectly attached. It was like a confined space rescue, only I was rescuing myself! There were some splits involved, as well as above ground aerials. At one point, the dryer sheets fell back there, so I had to try and hang over the back and reach them. Well, I almost got stuck upside down back there when I went a little too far, and I am just glad there are no videos! So of course, I had to do some laundry so I could use the dryer. I seems to be working great, and I even got it leveled better. I always feel great about doing stuff like that, and I knew I could do it, but I dreaded it and put it off as long as I could!
Lora and Susie, you remind me that I need to do some HB eggs...I got a bunch of farm fresh eggs from my doc and they are so good. I don't have an IP, but you make me want one! Jana, glad you were able to go on and get the groceries you needed. I'm going to have to go one day this week, but I am putting it off.
Janet, you sure have to wonder about somebody's kid already breaking a tablet...tough luck for them. I guess it is to be expected, when those are handed out. Stuff happens! Your dishes sound good...
Robin, I did hear from Andi and she is ok. They are still working to keep some essential programs going, but she is mostly home.
Well, I am going to head to bed soon. Haven't slept well lately....mostly because my silly dogs keep getting closer and closer as the night goes on, and I end up hugging the edge with no room to stretch my legs out, and I get hip pain and leg cramps. Then I have to roll everyone over and the whole process starts again. Apparently they feel needy lately! I will be back tomorrow after work. I'm going to try to mow the dogs' yard after work, if the grass is dry enough. Its the only thing I didn't get to Sunday. I hope everyone has a good Hump Day. Hang in there, and stay safe! RobinMD
