We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.

Good morning friends and Happy Thursday!
Well, I made it to 315a this morning. I guess slow improvement is better than no improvement, right?
Boy we've had incredibly heavy rain through the night. It's supposed to clear out and be mostly sunny by noonish, so I'm looking forward to that. The high today is only supposed to be about 70, so hopefully it will be a pleasant afternoon for some patio time.
Well, not much new from here for now. I'll check back later. Waving to everyone! I hope you have a wonderful day.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today I choose: Calm over Chaos Serenity over Stress Peace over Perfection Grace over Grit Faith over Fear~Mary Davis

Good Morning ... I am starting to hit a "normal" rising time...around 6:15 which is great...I am finally starting to adjust to the time change. I think I am off to Walmart to get a final couple of things for Easter...mask and gloves in hand. The only other thing I have planned today is cutting masks (they said I am the best cutter - how can you mess up cutting fabric?), reading, and "maybe" finishing my puzzle.
Lora - you are right...a little bit later each day will work! It is raining here too...maybe that will mean fewer people out this morning...we'll see. BBL

Hi Everyone, Yesterday or last evening felt like a Friday night to me since I was over at my sister's having a seder dinner together. We originally were going to have it with my other sister's friends. Tonight we are going to have a zoom seder with some of the congregation from my sister's synogogue. We'll do the ceremonial part and then have our dinner. Afterwards there is some more but I am probabably not going to do it. Not sure if my sister will either. Tommorow is Good Friday and that counts as a holiday for work so I guess I am free from doing work stuff. Yeah!! Its going to rain here soon too. This weekend I will have to shop on Saturday for my friend since the store I ususally shop for her at will be closed on Sunday. Her husband's condition continues to detioriate( sp?). Not looking very hopeful at this time and unless something changes soon its not going to improve. We all know that sometimes a miracle can occur so keep thoughts for his healing despite what it appears to look like right now. Robin Md,glad you were able to fix the dryer hose and sorry you were stuck upside down but managed to get yourself unstuck. Well, that's about it for now. Almost time to do some work although I dont have that much to actually do unless our director approves me taking trainings from a different organization than I usually do. If she approves I can start that. Have a great day!

Good morning all.
Day 9 million of quarantine here. I guess since I don't have any drama currently in my life the drama fairies decided to drop in for a visit late yesterday.
As I was cooking dinner (early dinner at that in hopes that Pop would eat something), he came into the kitchen to hang out while I cook (it has sort of become our thing). He told me he needed to go to the VA and see a Dr. He kept beating around the bush - I don't think he wanted to tell me what was wrong. He told me he would call this morning and get an appointment etc. Finally I told him, I guess you aren't comfortable telling me what is going on - but I wish you would. He finally told me that he has been unable to pass urine since around 7 p.m. on Tuesday night. He said he wasn't in any pain and we took his temp and he does not have a fever. I told him I felt like we needed to go ahead and call them. They insisted that he immediately go to the Emergency Room at the VA hospital. We drove to the VA and they would not let me go in with him. I had to sit in the parking lot for about 2 1/2 hours - freaking out - imagining the worst of course. He does not have any infection and they did not see any blockage. They gave him some meds to take - he kept telling me it had something to do with his colon but couldn't really "remember" what they told him. We called my sister via speaker phone and she said a colon issue didn't make sense could it have been his prostrate and yes that is what it was. Apparently his prostrate is swollen and they can see there is an issue but they don't know what the issue is. The discharge paper work says we will be getting a phone call from a Urology Dr. for a follow up. (they have my # to call for appointments - thank goodness) The pharmacy was closed by the time he could leave the VA so we have to run back over today and pick up his prescription.
I am worried about him. As much of a PITA as he is, it is too soon for me to have to deal with something major being wrong with him. I suppose we don't get to decide on when these things happen. Obviously I will deal with whatever I need to deal with.
I had to postpone my budget meeting for today until next week.
fingers crossed this isn't something really bad.

Good morning,
Jana, it sounds like prostatitis, which we see quite often in the office. It is easily fixed with antibiotics, and sometimes they will give Flomax to help with passing urine. I'm glad he wasn't in any pain! I sure hope that's all it is.
Lora, we had a strong storm pass through last night, too. No thunder this time! There is supposed to be high winds starting this afternoon, and another bout of rain...then cold temps again. Glad I haven't gone too crazy in the flower beds yet. Janet, enjoy the time off from working! Susie, it sounds like they are really using those masks! It is great that you all are helping in such a big way. I hope you find the store empty!
Not much going on yet. I am working, but we are having issues with the program that our office uses. We don't have many patients today, so that is good. They will add some sick visits on, as the day goes by, but it looks like a light day. I just wanted to say hi, and I hope everyone has a great day. Waving to all,
RobinMD

Robin thanks - I am going to google that and see exactly what it is. I am so worried that it will be something serious.

A positive for today - My neighborhood just completed making the 1000 th mask !!! We will continue to cut, sew, and donate as long as we have materials. A few people can accomplish great feats!
Janet - great that you all can share a seder with zoom. Hopefully your director will approve the other trainings. Sorry to hear about your DF's husband...she doesn't drive at all - is that right?
Oh Jana... I am so glad that your DF did TELL you there was a problem...your swift action may end up saving his life.
RobinMD - so glad we have you for medical input... I hope you are right and Jana's DF will be on the mend soon

Hello ROs, thought I'd pop in and see how everyone is doing. Looks like you're all well and managing this challenging time.
Susie, how wonderful that you're making masks! I ordered from Amazon and they won't be here for 2 weeks!!! I ordered the kind that I think skiers wear, like a collar that you pull up over your nose and mouth. They had some great colors and are washable so I got a couple. My DN managed to get a couple of the regular masks and gave me one - I swear that Covid-19 won't kill me but I'll likely suffocate in that thing. I don't know how health providers wear those without having a claustrophobic meltdown. RobinMD, how do you do it??? But anyway, thank you and your neighborhood for your efforts.
Jana, glad you got your DF to the ER and got his issue checked out. My DN's sister had this a year ago and it was her kidneys which had shut down. She's an out of control diabetic. They admitted her and got things working again. Sounds like the prostate issue can be handled at home, which is so good, especially these days. You don't want to have to be in the hospital right now unless there's no choice.
Janet, sorry to hear about your DF's DH. If something happens to him, is she going to be able to manage on her own? Happy Passover! We had a virtual Seder ourselves, with my DB and his wife and inlaws, and it was ok enough. Nice to see everyone but it sure felt weird.
I'm doing ok, dealing with kind of low level depression. Some days are better than others. Being responsible for 120 employees all trying to work remotely and keep everyone's spirits up, plus ensure we have enough funding so we don't have to lay people off, is weighing heavily on my shoulders. Plus my own feelings of fear alternating with resolve, optimism, and back to fear and dread. Every time I have to leave the house it is scary and strange and unfriendly. People view one another here as the enemy - anyone at anytime could infect you and people try to avoid even eye contact. Streets are empty, everyone in the few places that are open is masked, there are still major shortages of a lot of foods and certainly paper goods, and it truly feels like being in a war zone, without the bombs and physical destruction.
I did get to our little market here that has the fruits and vegetables, meat, cheese, baked goods and it was pretty crowded which made me nervous. I do try to go during senior hours but I overslept this morning. Depression seems to be good for my sleeping, so at least there's that. And I couldn't get near the fish counter - maybe something to do with Lent and Good Friday tomorrow? I'm trying to minimize my trips but on the other hand, the only time I get to see human beings is when I go food shopping. And I'm pretty isolated. I did get most of what i need so that is good, plus a lot of sweets that seem necessary right now. That bill will come due later for that when/if things ever get back to normal. Meanwhile I live in sweats.
I'm sorry I haven't been here and I will likely continue to post infrequently. I can't be upbeat right now and I don't want to upset anyone here with my anger and sadness. So hang in there. I'm thinking of all of you and will be back as I can.

Andi - so glad you stopped by...seems weird not seeing you here-it has been so many years. However, we all have periods where we need to take a break for whatever reason. I hope your meditation is comforting and helpful. Glad you got a mask...they are not terribly comfortable, but you get used to it. I washed mine today and it came out OK. I cut 55 more masks out today and I will get them to someone who is sewing. The ladies here are really upbeat...I think just doing things to help others keeps their hands busy and their minds occupied. Take care....
RobinMD - the police, fire departments, several hospitals, dentists, our local Publix as well as others have been overjoyed when the masks were delivered to them. PS. I may need to you to come to VA and check out my dryer vent ( lol)...you seem to be an expert.

Thanks, Susie. I wish I did have a meditation but I don't. It's on my "should" list but it's not happening. I can only imagine how the first responders felt on seeing the masks you all made. What a lovely act of generosity! I've always heard that the best way to feel better is to do something for someone else. I should take my own advice .

Hi again, everyone, Jana, I sure hope that your DF's problem is simple like that! Its good that he will see a urologist though, because even if it is prostatitis, it could happen again (like UTI's do), and it is good for him to be followed by a specialist at his age. Susie, the mask projects have been so very helpful. How great that you all have made so many. It might seem like a lot, but the more people have, the more often they can change them during a shift. I could go through half a dozen in a shift at the doctor's office, and who knows how many at the station?! Thank you so much for helping them get done! As far as me being a dryer specialist, HA! I don't know about that, but I can sure get behind one, one way or the other Andi, good to see you! I'm sure glad you have been able to keep so many people working, and so many programs going. The masks can get aggravating, can't they!? I am careful what I eat for lunch, when I'm going to be breathing my own funky breath! HA! I am getting used to them, but during the day I definitely start pulling at it. We now HAVE to wear safety goggles with our masks, gowns, and gloves. I would be ok with head covers, too, but we aren't there yet! Lora, I hope you got some nice weather to sit outside! Well, work was fine today. Not very many appointments. I moved operations down to the living room to sit on more comfortable furniture, and every time a patient would pop on or would answer my phone on the computer, Forrest would make the longest baying howling bark! It was hilarious...people thought it was funny, and you know we are all mostly working from home so we have our little "issues"! I am loving working from home. We worked it out so that one provider is in the office with a nurse and one person up front on the phones, one day a week. My day is Monday, my day off is Tuesday, and the rest of the week I stay home. I am surprisingly busy and productive while at home. I'm pretty surprised at myself, because I never thought I could work at home and not be COMPLETELY distracted! Anyway, it is designed to keep our face to face time with patients to a minimum. But having someone in the office gives us the opportunity to have EKGs, strep tests, urine tests, flu tests, listen to lung sounds, assess neurological symptoms, etc. and anything hands on that really needs to be done. We need to keep people out of the ER as much as possible. So there is still some risk, but we are in full PPE and it is as minimal as it can be. I am going to try to find something for dinner, and will head to bed early again. I am really glad I have this weekend off from the station. I will be back tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a great day RobinMD
