Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
The sun made a return to Buffalo. I looked at the 10 day forecast and itās going to stay pretty cold compared to the last couple of weeks. We are supposed to get high winds on Monday.
DB called me last night. Even though we text every day he said he wanted to hear my voice to make sure I was ok. We spent about 15 minutes catching up, it was nice. He was just making sure I get outside every once in a while and asked me about my food situation. I told him I only listen to the news in the morning, he said he listens a lot because itās so historic.
Yesterday I did some housework and spent some time coloring. It was a nice relaxing day.
I have a few ripe bananas so Iām going to make banana bread later. I usually make Polish sweet bread for Easter but since itās only for me the banana bread will be easier and I can freeze it.
Not sure what else is on the agenda for today.
Later ...
I just read in the neighborhood next door that there is going to be a small parade through our village tomorrow. The Easter bunny and our firefighters will be there. They are asking everyone to just watch from their windows. They will travel down every street. I think thatās such a cute thing to do for the kids, they usually have an Easter egg hunt.

Joyce, that is nice that your DB called to hear your voice and make sure you are okay. The parade sounds cute for the kids. At least it is something that they can look forward to. That is a good idea to make banana bread with your left over bananas.
Waving to Ruth, hope you are having a good day.
I took my walk early. Bill wanted to play golf early so he didnāt walk with me. It was nice and cool out, first day in over a week that was cool in the morning. I want to make us some deviled eggs tomorrow but the eggs didnāt peel good. They will be fine for deviled eggs, just sort of funny looking. While Bill is playing golf I steamed the kitchen and bathroom floors. They were really dirty. The tile guy wipes down the bathroom floor he is working in daily but the constant trips back and forth to his truck and to get some tile had left the kitchen floor very dirty. I didnāt see any sense in doing it till he was going to be gone for a few days.

Good afternoon everyone. Joy, how nice of your DB. Sounds like you are really close, being just 2 of you. Sounds like you like your DSIL also.
Dottie, do you enjoy the occasional solo walk? Iāve found I do. Especially when I donāt have to listen to Maggie huffing and puffing pulling on her leash. Is it supposed to stay warm down there? Did you finish your masks you were working on?
Joy, we are to get snow tomorrow. How much depends on the storm track as usual. Praying we just get a dusting here. But I hate wishing more snow on anyone! This time of year no one wants it. Not even the ski resorts.
We got downstairs after lunch and I started working on our main storage room. DH tends to take stuff in there and just puts it down on the floor, usually near the door. So I re-arranged some of the things on shelves; got rid of some of the things; and then had him lift some things up to the higher shelves I canāt reach. We now have lots of floor space (weāll see how long that lasts) to get around in there. There is still stuff on the shelves that needs to be gone, but for now itās more organized. All of my collectibles are still in there boxed up in bins. I donāt want to have the Cherished Teddies anymore. Later on Iāll try to sell them. I pulled out a few more things to photograph and sell, but decided that tomorrow is going to be a blah day and I can work down there some then. More of the baby clothes and then the things we pulled out today. Iām starting to look at things and ask myself, āif we were to move from here, would this make the cut?ā So much the answer is no!!!
That Easter parade sounds like a wonderful thing for the children. They are the forgotten ones in this whole mayhem we are living thru right now. So many are too young to understand what is happening, and they are just forced to go with the flow. Some miss their friends and teachers at school, they miss daycare providers and their playmates there; their routines are all upset. And they are living with parents who are all stressed out over fear of the disease, and fear of losing jobs and not being able to provide food or housing for the family.
Hoping to FaceTime with some of the kids, maybe today and then some more maybe tomorrow! Going out for a walk shortly and I need to go buy some bananas. Have to have 1 with my breakfast daily! More later!

Good morning,
Happy Easter!
I listened to the Easter Vigil mass last night from a local parish. It was beautiful, very moving at times. When the reading for the creation was going on, the pastor actually created a garden right in the church. Let there be light, a candle was lit. Let there be water, the rock fountain was filled and turned on. As the readings went on, seeds were dropped, plants and flowers were added, butterflies and bird ornaments were added, ceramic animals (rabbits, squirrels) were added. I never saw anything like that done before. It was so beautiful.
My old choir director is the music director for that church. The music choices were beautiful. During what would be communion time they sang a hymn that I had a solo role in many years ago. My part was sung in Latin and I remembered every word and sung along. I had tears in my eyes, brought back some wonderful memories. It was a 2 hour service, the time went by fast. I was so glad that I decided to watch.
The banana bread turned out great. It was so easy to make and was delicious. I sliced a couple of pieces for today, froze the rest. I enjoy eating a banana every day, but these ripened too fast.
I read that Andrea Bocelli is going to steam an Easter concert today. Looking forward to watching that.
Enjoy your day! Later ...

Joyce, your service last night sounded wonderful and very inspiring. Nice that you were able to sing along with the music. Iām going to look for the Andrea Bocelli concert. I saw someone else mention that also.
Ruth, I do enjoy walking by myself some days. Other times it is nice to have Bill along because the walk seems to go faster. Your day sounded very productive yesterday. Iām guilty about putting stuff anywhere in our storage area at home, it is a small closet for extra paper products, food, seldom used serving pieces, etc. Hope you get some more work done today.
Since we slept in a little today we didnāt get our walk in but will definitely walk this evening. It is already in the upper 80s. The weather guessers keep saying this is June weather not April. We really need rain, several forest/brush fires have been in the area. We plan on FT with DS#1 and family and DS#2 said he will call us this afternoon, so we will hear from both of them. The church service was nice, and they played a recording of the Hallelujah chorus from a previous Easter. It doesnāt seem like Easter without that.

Watched Andrea Bocelli earlier this afternoon. He truly has the voice of an angel. I got so emotional at the end when he was singing Amazing Grace and they were showing the empty streets in some major cities. It was surreal. I will probably watch again tonight.
Parade was cute. Easter Bunny was standing in the back of one of the fire trucks, waving as they drove by. I was just as happy to see this as the kids were.
Stood outside and chatted with my neighbors for a while.
Weāre expecting a windy Monday. They said sustained winds will be 30-40 mph with gusts up to 70. Making sure my devices are fully charged in case I lose power. Supposed to be an all day event. I pulled a heavier trash bag from the basement and put it in my tote. Added the shoes Iām tossing, so the tote should be heavy enough to stay in place.
See ya tomorrow
