Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Taking a break from basement CBing today. I have my virtual workshop at noon today. Will be nice to see everyone again.
I do have laundry to do today, some general housework too.
Ruth - I’ll check with the food bank one of these days. I’ll hang on to my reusable bags and if they want them I’ll donate. I really do have more than I’ll ever use. I think I’ll be using my canvas bags from now on anyway, they can be thrown in the laundry right after use.
I have cardboard boxes that we had paper delivered in at work that I can put the books in. They have handles so I’ll be able to carry those books out when libraries open again. For now I’ll stack the boxes in my spare bedroom.
It’s sunny out right now, but the clouds are coming in and we’re supposed to have snow showers later today, possibly tomorrow too. Ugh! This weather isn’t helping things.
Landscaping team here. At least my lawn will get mowed before it gets too cold out.
Time for coffee. Later ...

Joyce, how was your virtual workshop today? Good job on donating some of the Bills and Sabres items. I’m sure someone will really enjoy getting them. I still have several paper boxes from when I worked. They are great for so many things.
Ruth, we had the tub taken out of the guest bathroom and now it is just a nice shower. The plumber isn’t supposed to come now till Friday. This has been a slow process. When we put new tile in the kitchen we also had the same tile put in both bathrooms. Bill put new vanities, vanity tops and lights in during Jan/Feb. The vanities are quartz. While the plumber is here on Friday he will also put the new pipes in the main bathroom. The tile guy will be here tomorrow to tear out the shower in the master bath so the plumber better show up on Friday. Any luck with sales for the items you listed. How did it go for Stan at the Dental lab?
Kind of a blah day here. Once the tile guy starts working on the new shower in the master bath, we will decide on a day to head north. Bill had an appointment scheduled with his cardiologist for next week. He called to reschedule and they asked him if he wanted a virtual appointment. He said no because the doctor usually does an EKG, blood pressure – etc. It is now rescheduled for some time in June. I can see some virtual appointments but for an annual cardiology exam that just won’t work.

Good evening. Before I forget I want to mention it. Dottie, Stan is to have his 3 mo follow up from his ablation on the 28th. His cardiology office is at a major trauma center hospital in St. Paul. They called him the other day and he’s having a virtual cardiology appt. However, he does his EKG (a 1 lead one) on his Apple Watch multiple times a day. He has sent them a week’s worth of output several times and it’s always the same as what they see (good or bad) on their machines in the office. And we have a BP cuff here and we both use it periodically, so he can give them that too right before the appt. He’s anxious to get this one over with because they said if he has had no AFib in the 3 mo, they will take him off all the heart meds and the blood thinner. And that last one is a biggie!!! I can understand Bill’s reluctance to have a virtual visit w/o benefit of knowing his EKG results and BP before he goes in. If Stan didn’t have those things available to him, he wouldn’t be happy doing the phone appt either.
So far I have not sold anymore that I have listed. I have changed prices on a few things and I’d love to get rid of a bunch of it. Some of the adult clothing will just be donated. And some of the kids’ clothing too. I got a little of the 4T listed, what was hanging; but I have an entire bin full of more 4T and I have to get it photographed and listed. And I have 2 bins of 5/5T to photograph and list. And so many odds and ends! But it’s a work in progress.
Yesterday Stan started putting on the new cabinet hardware. Today he went to Menard's and picked up the 2 pkgs of additional handles we needed. He has 2/3 of those put on. I worked on cleaning cabinet doors near the stove to get grease off. I think I got the worst one done today. I’ll work on the last couple tomorrow and he can finish up the handles. We really like them!
Stan’s experience with the dental lab was wonderful. He dropped the partial off about 9 am and by 2:00 we were down there picking it up. The tech that worked on it comes highly recommended by our dentist and he did a great job. He replaced all the acrylic on the partial, replaced the 2 teeth that had fallen off and it’s like a new partial. And our dentist called today to make sure that Stan didn’t have any issues with it that he could maybe get fixed by our dentist. He said sometimes when they get fixed, they might rub in one spot or something and just need a little adjustment. Stan says it’s great! Dentist was thrilled. Now we wait to get the bill. The tech said doing the whole thing over was only $10 more (his part) than just doing the original. But, as Stan said, everyone has their markup.
Your bathrooms are going to be so nice. Can’t wait until we can get our bathroom finished; the current shower removed and an expanded one put in, countertops, backsplash, and new sinks/faucets done. But that will have to wait until the economy has recovered and our retirement investments back up to where they were before this all started.
All the gals on our 1948 old WW group got their $1200 checks either yesterday or today. We took money out to buy a car and raised our income too high and we won’t get one! I pray all of our kids and their spouses get them. Older DD/DSIL won’t get $500 for Kira because she’s too old, but the others should get ones for their little girls for sure.
Joy, you are just doing great. I’m making progress, just not as fast as you are! Are you looking forward to going back to work? Enjoying this break tho?
just a note on the other CB thread. Yesterday was Sandy Markley Levine’s DD’s 94th birthday. He’s in a nursing facility with no visitors. So she managed to line up friends & family and a police car and fire engine to do a birthday drive by with horns and sirens to celebrate him. He was able to be in a wheelchair outside the front entrance to watch it go by. And Sandy was able to bake him a flourless cupcake (Passover) for him. She had to drop it off for them to give to him. And for Seder last weekend, one of the nurses stayed after to help him get Zoom going on his computer so that he could participate from the NH.
Ok, going to bed soon. I wore ear plugs last night until 3 am when I had to use the facilities. Took them out, went back to bed and slept well after that. And if DH was up and down previously, I didn’t hear him. But I do worry about missing something if he needed me with them in.
More tomorrow!!!
