Here in Michigan we have a couple groups protesting at our state capitol today about the bans our governor put on our state due to the virus. They were supposed to do a drive around but the news at noon showed a lot of people meandering around not using social distancing, just what we don't need.
A neighbor friend said her husband was thinking about going to the protest, sure hope not as she doesn't want to be exposed this way.
Our governor is coming on TV at three today, should be interesting what she has to say to these jerks!
It was good to hear governor's will be setting guidelines for getting back to normal, not the federal government. They said this will be gradual, taking quite some time to get back to normal.
I've been following the stuff going on in Michigan and it just blows my mind. (I'm from Michigan and still have a lot of friends and family there). It was like people were complaining the governor wasn't doing anything, then she does and they FREAK OUT!
I'm in Indiana and things are pretty calm. Our governor does a daily news conference at 2:30 EDT. He has done a good job at providing information and keeping people calm. "They" are predicting our peak to be sometime this week or next. I just hope he doesn't rush to open things back up.
Locally, our Health Department Official (who is my doctor) has issued an ordnance for no public gatherings (festivals, sporting events, fairs, etc) through June 30. What makes me sad is that means that our local farmer's market will be put on hold! I really hope those farmers can find a way to still get their products out to the people.
I cannot believe they are doing that. I am in California and though I disagree with Governor Newsom on a lot of things, I think he had done a great job. I am all for the bans. They will save lives. @ Neen our farmers are selling boxes of produce through restaurants that do take out.
Yesterday our governor, in her update, handled the protest very well, she didn't focus a long time on the jerks but did remind them the consequences of what they were doing during the rally, that no one wants to be quarantined. She focused on all the donations from people and all the good things people are doing. One smart lady governor!
haha! they claim she's trampling on their constitutional rights. that's hilarious. they love to throw around the constitution when it benefits them (doubtful they are experts though) and let a certain leader trample all over it in earnest and not give a shit and worse, back him up as the "messiah".
i'm so over these morons.
edit. i hope they all get covid-19 and miraculously never pass it on to innocent citizens.
Wow. Crazy stuff. I had an encounter with a FB one about this - he said "he would rather die than give up his freedom" so I asked "are you willing to kill for it? Because there are a lot of typhoid Marys out there that can spread the illness without showing symptoms.". He responded that yes, it was worth it for HIS 'freedom' then he proceeded to curse at me, call me names, and rant - so there's the mentality "gap" between common sense and selfish stupidity. I just blocked him and bowed out of the conversation because you can't reason with the unreasonable. IMO anyway.
My name is Rene IG @dotren1 since I'm not good at adding photos on here lol
