This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph.

We have SNOW. A LOT of SNOW About 2 inches out there now. Calling for temps only in 30s today so no chance it'll melt. Then calling for 2-4 inches Friday. Woe is me when it comes to the weather outlook. I thought it was APRIL?!?! ugh. Yesterday I got Spring Fever and started calling around for contractors to come look at our Patio Doors and landscape companies to come look at our side yard (very swampy, mud, poor drainage over the years)...Friday a guy is coming to give us an estimate on the 2 sets of Patio sliders we have - one leads to our patio, the other to the Deck. Neither one has working screen doors and both are really hard to slide. The Deck one is far worse - we have tried everything, W-40 spray, jiggling, you name it, now it won't securely close to lock. DH bought a thick stick (like a broom handle) to wedge in the door but seriously? Who wants to look at a stick propped in the door all day!? I say we buy new ones. He wants them 'fixed' . The companies I have called said they are probably too old to fix as they are probably warped or have damaged tracks. Other than that I like our doors lol They just don't work! We did receive the full amount for the stimulus check. Just waiting on PA Unemployment for Gary. No word again yesterday. I see our local State Representative and our Senator are bombarded with questions from folks like us - all wondering WHEN? will the money flow to the unemployed?

Christine...no worries...it happens sometimes and thankfully we can redirect folks to one or the other! As for when I get on, it depends....usually around 7:00am or so I sit to check email and pop on to say good morning. Depends on the day, when I hit the snooze an extra time.....
My "title creativity" isn't all that great...sometimes I just sit and think what one of us might "need" for the day!! That's how I came up with "walk it off" yesterday!!
No lunch needed today...it's Employee Appreciation day at work....just a "sack lunch" but hey, it's free so I won't complain!
See you all after work!

I'm remaining optimistic: I ordered a pair of Birkenstock sandals. C'mon SUMMER!
Huge huge dilemma here in the Family. Remember we had to re-book our Florida/Disney trip? It took me half a morning to speak with a Disney rep to get the resort we wanted near the dates in June that would work. We got bumped from our original June dates as EVERYONE is rebooking or already had June booked. Finally got our reservation confirmed. Changed the airline tickets, added Carly to our new airline reservation which cost us but I was happy to just get her a flight. Okay, so you know that whole story. Well, yesterday, Gary's sister, the DSIL I often chum around with, flipped out on us. She had planned a Baby Shower for her 1st expected grandchild (all very exciting indeed) for the very same weekend we are in Disney. She told ME to re-schedule as we can't miss her shower! Um, what? I said we already re-scheduled and no other dates will work. She replied, "I've re-arranged Disney vacations before. You can do it, especially if you had insurance, right?" I just said this whole thing is a nightmare and we are not sure if Florida will even be open in June for mass crowds. And left it at that. I refuse to argue with her as she gets over the top angry if you disagree with her or muddle with her plans. Plus, her son and his fiance may not even be able to travel here in June. I just don't want to have bad feelings between us over this. Lindsey was almost in tears - she said, "We are NOT cancelling our Disney trip for Aunt Carrie's 2 hour party!" (She has a point)

Carole - my sauce recipe is very simple but running short on time. We use 2 large cans of either plain sauce or puree, or one of each. Like 28 oz size? I think? and add one small tiny can of paste (4 oz?). 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 2 small bay leaves, 1-1 1/2 tsp salt, pinch of pepper, 1/4 tsp of Oregeno and let simmer for 1 1/2 hours. The longer you let it simmer the thicker it gets. I'll have to read my recipe to see if I included everything. My DB adds spicy Italian sausage to his, but we do our traditional meatballs. Letting the meat simmer in the sauce for an hour also adds flavor I follow the WW Purple plan. So this sauce is only 1 point and put it over whole wheat penne pasta (0 points for the pasta if you find TRUE whole wheat) it makes for a great WW Friendly meal. We'll do left overs tonight with fresh salad. If you use regular pasta/spaghetti it's 6 points. Linds is following the GREEN plan and for her this meal came out to be 9 points using regular spaghetti. But then she has 36 Points a day?? I think?? Gabrielle - my meeting with the Prince yesterday was non-eventful. Not sure why I get myself so worked up ahead of time - maybe a little PTSD there from the last 2 years? lol Anyways, true to form he was quite impressed (refused to say so) that I had 2 pages of Projects I had been doing all along. He commented we are busier now then when in the building. Um, maybe HE is but work is much different pace for me, but I wasn't one to correct him. He had nothing more for me other than what I had already told him I was thinking of researching and doing. He seemed relieved not to have to find me projects lol. Hope all your Zoom meetings were productive - how did that 1:00 one go over? Today I will try to tap into the area county wide School Psych Networking at 1:00. Since I always attended the Special Ed Council Networking (Queen Bee does now) I haven't participated much with the School Psych one.

Good morning!
Will be outside running my "hill repeats" on the driveway soon....have to say that it is more interesting that the TM...I'll warm up there. So, my last call went until 6:30 PM!!! Uggh! I was on SO many hours of calls yesterday and I felt it at the end of the day. Ended up not doing my fasting bloodwork this morning and will do it tomorrow instead. I hadn't eaten since 11:30 am when the 6:30 call got done and I would have been done eating for the day for my fasting bloodwork. Sheesh. Today I have a chunk of calls, but I think it will be better. It looks like the rain isn't moving in today (yay!) I hope for sunshine as long as possible. I think I was outside for a total of 15 min yesterday because of work demands....hope for a 10 minute break here and there today.
Christine: I am SO grateful when you start us off--really, no pressure on the title! I am not one of those people who can create those "catchy" acronyms and things. Thank you for getting us going. So glad that the call with the Prince went well and that he recognized the work! I wouldn't be surprised if he is being tasked with "making sure people are working" and you have made his job easier So, any word on when Gary might be back to selling online? Is that going to happen? It is here in CA....there is talk now of SLOWLY reopening things and what it might look like. In our county, with 190K people and only 32 cases (no deaths, 25 recovered), they are worried that vacationers will come here and that we are not immune at all. It will be interesting to see. Wow, I hope that, at some point, your DSIL can rethink and realize that her re-booking of Disney is NOTHING like it is now....NO comparison! Maybe she is anxious with everything going on? NO way. You do not reschedule. Sorry...Linds comes first! DSIL will get over it! You will be AMAZED at the new sliders (I hope you do it)....it is one of those "why did we wait so long" kind of things! Ours is still good after 30 years, but we had to get it "tuned up" once and I was AMAZED at how much better it was. Nice to be thinking about the summer and getting the yard going...just cleaning our deck and BBQ up made me happy last weekend! Hope that you have an okay day today--my 1:00 went okay...LOL, it was a bunch of Superintendents and they were pretty quiet...some of them will talk easily to me alone but have some anxiety speaking in front of one another--especially on a Zoom. Anyway, my dept is in a MUCH better place now (they get it that we need to keep moving forward) and, overall, it was fine. Hope that you have a productive day---SO sorry about the snow .

Sue: Sounds like the Moul house is keeping the automotive repair places in business, LOL. When it rains, it pours, huh? Hope that the repairs to the Toyota are not too expensive. My car will be paid off next Feb (unless I bite the bullet and pay it off sooner). It will be nice to not have a car payment. The one positive of staying home is that I am saving so much on diesel...it is amazing. Glad that you got in some facetime and that you are getting the groceries taken care of. Just ordered ours---still 10 days out for pick up. This is still challenging for me to think ahead of what we need. You are much more organized with it... I think that the vegan things for DH and DS20's kind of "sporadic" eating make it harder for me. Oh well!
Carole: Any word from the doctor? Hope that your day is off to a decent start!
Jo: Sounds like working from home is working for you...so glad to hear that. I haven't been to Costco for about 8 weeks now...and probably won't for at least a month. I look forward now to things like that! Sounds like you are getting back into the groove of tracking...good job! So you have a blood pressure machine at your house? That is one of the best things we bought for my mom...great to have. So glad that the appt for DH went well.
Jenny: Wow, I am so surprised at how much better your weather is than ours! People always talk about OR being so rainy, but it definitely has us beat now. I am doing my garden this year in raised boxes. I had so many issues with deer and gophers last year (destroyed entire plants overnight), that this will be a better solution (I think). We are going to start preparing the boxes this weekend Can't wait to have tomatoes and zucchini! Hope that your week is going well for you (sounds like it is).

Shelly: Glad that you are having more "normal" days. I am afraid that you might be like us---not many cases so not much immunity at all from COVID-19. For those of us in these communities, a chance of surgence in the fall is much higher...hoping that they either get that vaccine done or treatment that alleviates the serious symptoms. It would be sad if it raged through your small community. Hope that you feel some relief for DH's job soon....
Hello to Nadine, Lisa, and all who follow. Need to get my run in now. My first call is at 9:00 and I am taking it easy until then after my 11.5 hour day yesterday--uggh. Last call is supposed to end at 5:00 pm today (thank goodness). Hope that you all have a good day...DS20's bday is next Monday so I am going to pick up these special cupcakes on Saturday (my "first" real outing in a while!) They only let one person in at a time. I'm going to pick out a dozen and then take one to my mom's (leave it on the porch), 6 to DS20 (leave them outside his gate), and bring the rest home. We'll do a Zoom on Sunday night and all sign happy birthday over our cupcakes It will take a crazy amount of time to get the cupcakes distributed, but it will be worth it. So, maybe a Zoom on SATURDAY night, 4/18 at about 4:00 my time (7:00 on the east coast)? Does this work for everyone? I would need emails to send out invites for Jo, Nadine, and Lisa (I have the others). Let me know what you think!

The zoom all works for me this Saturday, do you still have my e mail Gabrielle? Yes the gardening business is booming up here because of the nice weather, up into the 70's today again. Yesterday was cloudy and cooler but still enjoyable weather. This morning was a little chilly though.
OK here comes the trucks gotta run for now

Going back to yesterday - since I am out of work for the day! Hey the internet dropped one final time I said to heck with it! Texted my boss - had her clock me out - D.O.N.E.! Most of the issues today were not my home internet but the VPN connection to my desktop in the office!
Gabrielle: LONG days for you even at home! Oh yes... even when it's cold the sun helps a bit. Yummm, hamburger... that sounds yummy! I will have to see about doing them one night coming up soon!
LOL Thanks, yes the monitor is larger, but not as large as I thought it would be! Technically it is only a couple of inches each direction - which SEEMS like so much more! Not complaining... thankful that Patti had it and was willing to share!
Jo: Saw you pop in... hi!
Jenny: WOW Pretty productive day you had Monday! UGH My heart breaks for your DS... I get it {{{hugs}}} Glad it wasn't a sad kind of day for you ♥ Ahhhhhhh 70s??? Please share!! LOL Our stimulus was in our account Saturday - "PENDING" for yesterday... I am moving it into savings, as I know somehow it will come back to bite me if I spend it right away! Although it may be used to pay OFF a bill... haven't decided yet what we will do. I just don't want to OWE next year... and I know, I have heard both sides - some say we will others say we won't... until next tax filing no one truly knows HOW this will affect them! I get it - for the folks out of work it is a good thing - for those of us still working, I am not so sure - how good it is - for us... but time will tell!
Fly by this morning was back down to my "normal"... not that MY "normal" is good, but it is better than where it has been this week! UGH!
Jo: YAY for nice weather days... WOO HOO for tracking too! Oh gosh no - the Thieves is a good general household cleaner... and they SAY it's a good disinfectant too... I am still wary of that, but it does clean good! I used a packet of cleaner in my bucket and mopped my floor last weekend... cleaned up the kitchen and the dining room floors very nice!!
Ya' know, I love being home... but I love being home on my terms! LOL This working, eating, staying home is truly getting to me! I too need a haircut, but can survive without one... I was already letting hte color grow out - so this is fine with me... hey at this rate my hair may get past the "awkward" stage and I may decide I like it longer! HA! Much longer and I won;t need a style... I can just throw it up in a ponytail and be done!
Oh yeah, it's NE... we woke up to a layer of snow, but it was gone early n=enough that my t=yard guy came and did some more spring cleanup! "Poor Man's Fertilizer" is what we call it... and MAN is the grass NICE and green now!!
At work I have 2 mid-size monitors... so going to only one small one was killing me! Even now 1 is a PITA but at least now it's bigger... oh but yes, it is messing with my eyes! Also my back is feeling "it" from not being able to adjust the desk height... I am either "leaning" or "sitting"...
Sue: Oh dear... somedays it doesn't pay to have an extra vehicle! Glad the repairs weren't too costly. I have been slacking with my water - today hasn't been too bad... not my usual 100 oz but better than my some days of only 40 oz!
I totally admit that I LOVE to be HOME... but NEVER leaving the house is not quite what I envisioned! I was kind of looking forward to heading to Wal-Mart... but then my sister was going so Tracy went with her - during my workday...
Eh, Dr. prescribed something to possibly help my moods... problem is a side effect can be weight gain! WHY can't there ever be a drug we have to worry about weight LOSS? For a change?? UGH, so not sure I will take it...
I have heard using Thieves with baking soda as a bathroom "scrub"... our bathroom windows sweat in the summer... and the bathroom in general gets that mildewy like stuff... I hope to clean it with bleach this spring/summer and then repaint... it's time to repaint anyway... just need to find the time - the motivation - the energy!
We got our first bottle of Thieve's Fruit & Veggie wash this week!
Shelly: OMGosh girl... GO HOME! LOL You worked 6AM - 7:30 PM??? Hope you got some sleep!

THINK FIRST THURSDAY... thinking... and had my 2 mugs of tea... after my coffee - so it's a start!
LOL I am not cleaver with titles either... no worries, as long as we get started, right??
UGH Thank goodness we only had a coating of snow... and then it was gone... sunny but cold today - haven't gone outside because the highest I saw was 43, and I still see the pine tree moving in the wind! I have the same "woe is me" outlook on weather these days!
WOO HOO for starting the calls to get the spring fix ups done! YAY for new doors! YES get the new ones! I am looking out our year old slider and cannot WAIT to get it replaced! UGH! The seal is messed up so the "irt" is on the inside, where I can't clean it... we hope to have it taken out and a nice bow window put in it's place. LOL Of course that means more "finish work" for ME... with compounding and painting... but the DR needs a face lift anyway! I think this paper has been up since 2003??
I still don't understand the wait for Gary's Unemployment!!
Sue: YAY for Employee Appreciation! I have tuned in the past 3 days to the morning "huddle" (AKA ZOOM CALL) - and all it has been about is THANKING the loan department, and the branch staff, and other staff that have come IN to help handle the PPP loans... ummm, excuse me... I was told NOT to come in to work - and yet they have extra people coming in TO help the loan department! UGH! Anyway... in all these weeks of working at home - not ONCE has he THANKED those of us Working.From.Home.! Like he doesn't even think about us! WTH! SO absolutely NO Employee Appreciation around here! WOO HOO to your bosses for continuing during this time!
Oh Christine... I hear ya'! I ordered another pair of flip flops! LOL
Oh my dear NO... DSIL can postpone the baby shower! I mean seriously... since she doesn't even know IF the parents will be able to travel for the shower... it CAN be postponed! I get it... no one wants to keep postponing stuff, but it's easier to delay a shower for a week than a Disney trip! No - you go... enjoy your family trip - let DSIL figure this one out!
Thank you for the recipe! I will get ingredients the next time someone shops! I may even just make my own quick meatballs... probably healthier than if I buy the frozen! :-) We do have whole wheat pasta on hand... or we (summertime) will use zucchini or spag squash...
Gabrielle: YAY for getting out there to do your running! Have you run on Ed's trail yet?? OMGosh I don't blame you for skipping bloodwork this morning! It'll keep!
Ummm, yeah... Dr. prescribed a med... Ken will pick it up after work.... then she had me set up a "visit" with a therapist... one who deals with grief counseling... so that was earlier today. It was OK... I just feel kind of "judged" sometimes... he is NOT in favor of meds... but we'll see... take it one day at a time... he will set me up with a video meeting next Thursday... Eh, we'll see!
UGH Day started AWFUL! I could not get 2 computers on the internet at the same time to save my life! Then as the day went on it was more the VPN connection to my desktop... just made for a more frustrating day overall... added to my anxiety about the phone call I was waiting for!
Hmm, Ken is looking at raised beds for growing too! We tried them a few years back, and they never did anything... we'll see if this kind will be any different I guess!
What a fun plan for DS20 birthday next week!
Saturday evening, 7, sounds good to me!

OK Gotta go fold some laundry and think about dinner... have only had one snack today - and not feeling hungry... but while Ken runs to the drug store I will cook up some chicken and veggies... we have a small bowl of leftover brown rice, I'll throw that in... nothing fancy - just quick and healthy! Then I will have dishes to do... Didn't sleep good last night so earlier to bed for me tonight I think! ♥hugs♥

Evening all...well, as comfortable as I felt yesterday about surviving the furlough by getting extra tasks, today I had a part of my job taken away starting next Monday....while it is not a huge part it's still unnerving. I had always done the purchasing tasks for the maintenance department and all the maintenance PO's, etc...well Paul decided that Sherry who does the rest of the purchasing stuff should have it all...so it will go back to her....some days I spend no time doing it, other days it's an hour or two....as I said, not a "big chunk" but a chunk just the same!!
It was odd because Sherry is the one that told me and totally "blind-sided" me. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Todd was in his office so I asked if I could "chat a minute" and he said sure...when I told him he too was shocked as Paul had not said anything to him yet and he apologized because that change should have come from Paul or Todd and NOT a co-worker!! Anyway, he told me that all he had heard was that the furloughed people would be furloughed to 2 more weeks which was expected and they were told that up front anyway and that admin people are still asked to take a vacation day every week or two....I had planned on taking a 1/2 day Friday the 24th and 1st but they want me to take one more day...so I may take a 1/2 day the next 4 Fridays.....will OK with Todd tomorrow!
OK...panic post is done! Back to catching up!
Carole....hope the virtual appointment went well with the doctor. Would definitely be odd! Yes, have to keep trying despite this isolation and time of uncertainty. You can get back on track one step at a time...
Hi Jo...glad you got to pop in!! We had "frost" warnings the last two mornings but I don't think it got that low around here and with the winds the chance of frost is slim!! I have been using YL oils for 2o months now....joined the 28th of August of 2018 and got my kit in early September....it can be overwhelming and a lot of info and learning but if you have some good sources for support and help.....you will be fine!! I have gotten to know several in the group I joined under and they are all so helpful and if they don't have an answer they help me find one!! I'm lucky to have Sarah and the rest of the ladies!! No, Thieves will clean anything and there are different strengths depending on what you are doing...I was amazed how great it worked on the windows...no streaking and they were clean as a whistle and the room smelled yummy!! I only just started using it a couple weeks ago when I made the wipes and then when I made my 1st bottle of "cleaner"....1 cap of concentrate to 16 ounces of water is very economical and no toxic ingredients.... I had several cleaning supplies and until they were gone I was not going to just toss them in the trash...I can't just 'throw away money' so I waited until I needed them and did the "ditch and switch" as they call it! Just about out of fabric softener and dryer sheets then will use my new dryer balls!
Well...yesterday the phone was pretty quiet but today it rang off the hook!! Oh...new wrinkle at work today...apparently the state of PA has now made temperature checking and mask mandatory at work starting on Monday...so Todd's wife is going to bring me a couple that a friend of hers made so I have them and we will clock in and then have our temperature taken....crazy!! David and Katie have been have temperature checks since this began but it's new to PA! Fun times begin!! I'm going to hate the mask!
Jo...not sure I would like working from home...while I am a home body in many ways, not sure I could be focused at home with so many other things I would rather do...not sure I would have the discipline to do it! Yes, Jason does miss his garden buddies and hopefully this won't go on so long that they lose interest in helping Grandpa...that would break his heart! I heard today that they are going to try to open hair salons and barber shops with 1 client at a time.....it will help but will still be tough on them....I know Errin often fits my haircut it while she has a color client sitting and waiting for her color to set....will be anxious to see if it passes! I too think it is not necessary but I get that salon owners are losing money big time and still have to pay for their salon space, etc....I am in desperate need of a hair cut...I was getting ready to call Errin when life shut down and here we are 5 weeks later and it just gets longer and more difficult to handle!
