Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
WW virtual workshop was great yesterday. It’s pretty much my only “normal “ every week. There were 18 of us at the meeting. We were talking about keeping ourselves busy, finding things to do so that we don’t eat out of boredom. Someone brought up haircuts and we all groaned. I’m wearing a headband to keep my bangs off my face. I could cut them, but I might try a new style when I finally get back to the stylist and might just grow out my bangs.
I called my doctors office to reschedule my annual physical. If it was just a basic checkup I’d probably do the video chat, but there is more to the physical than something online. I don’t have a bp monitor anyway.
Governor Cuomo issued a mandate to wear a face covering when in situations where you can’t properly social distance. Goes into effect tomorrow. I’ll have no problem doing that, but I’m sure my DB will.
My hands are so dry and itchy from all of the extra hand washing I’m doing because of the basement cleanup. I might change up the soap. I’m using Dial antibacterial and it might be too strong. I will start using one of my sensitive skins bars instead. I put Aveno soothing lotion on overnight. I need to start wearing disposable gloves when decluttering.
Today is trash day. My tote is full. And I already have another bag almost full.
I was texting with other cashier yesterday. While we’re enjoying the time off, cleaning our homes and the like - we both can’t wait to go back to work. I miss everyone, the jokes and laughter, just being more social. We’re just wondering what it’s going to be like with social distancing in place. They already took half of the chairs out of the waiting room before I left, but there were days when that whole room was full. I would like to see them put up plexiglass between us and the public, they used to have that before.
Coffee is calling ... Later

Joyce, nice that you enjoyed your virtual meeting. I would think that they would put up plexiglass at the cashier area. It would be good for both the workers and the customers. When I retired I missed the social part of work also. If we didn’t have plans to head to Florida right after our retirement I would have looked into a regular PT job – I did find the FT job just too much for me.
Ruth, sounds like everything worked out great for Stan at the dental lab. We do have a blood pressure cuff (although Bill doesn’t usually use it) in Florida and up north but I think since it is for an annual appointment the EKG is very important. At least he will get to see the doctor in June. Do you keep any of the clothes from Harper and Sawyer for Mara? She will be in size 4 before you know it. Glad to hear that Stan is putting the new handles on the cabinets. What do you use for removing grease from the cabinets? At home I have used Murphy’s Soap cleaner, that works pretty good. So far here I have just used an all-purpose cleaner.
The tile guy showed up at 8 this morning. We both got up early to take our showers so the bathroom would be clear for him to start. I don’t know how long he will be here today because after he removes the fiber glass shower enclosure he needs to do a little more before the plumber comes. The plumber is supposed to show up at 8 tomorrow morning, hope he makes it!!!!!! We did get our deposit yesterday, it was nice to see it in the checking account in the morning. I have to slow down on my mindless eating. I do okay during the day but by evening I just want to snack.

It’s cold outside. I was going to go for a walk, but the 34* temps and high winds changed my mind.
Talk to DB today. They have bandannas and he said they’ll go outside Frito Bandito style. I’m glad he’s not going to fight this.
Governor Cuomo extended shutdown to May 15, so I’ll be staying at home for another month at least. I put in another Instacart order, will get it next Tuesday, perfect timing.
Washed kitchen floor today. I’m spending a lot of time in the kitchen, might as well clean it more often.
See ya tomorrow

Just a quick stop to say HELLO and to update you on my TO DO List. I did leave the house today with my mask so I could mail a 2nd cousin what little I had to help him out...a little bottle of hand sanitizer, a couple small pkgs of baby wipe and a nearly full bottle of 70% alcohol, etc. I told him to check but I think he can open the baby wipe and pour in some of the alcohol and squish it around to give him a disinfectant wipe. Again I stressed for him to verify that info. I also shipped off what was left of John's alcohol prep pads...little things and most of the disposable gloves left from John's hospice care. Took a tiny item, I bought 2 months ago for a friend's fairy garden...it was a little camper...and they love to camp - mailed that off to them. So I'll count some of that as CB'ing. Coat Closet and nearby cabinet gone through. A few things trash, several found better homes, winter coats moved to the walk in closet/storage room, in hopes they won't be required until November or December. DSS, Richard, came by this afternoon to try out the Weider Weight Trainer that is out in the garage. All of the GOLDS Gyms in the STL area will be closing permanently. They've been closed around a month now because of CV-19. His oldest DD works as a fitness instructor at some of the Gold's...She may work for another chain also. (She also an elementary school teacher, teaches a class at a local community college, and Trains the Trainers for gyms) This is the one that is the mother of the triplet boys (they turned 13 at the end of February). She is a busy woman. Richard has taken the Weider equipment apart and will take it home when he brings his Nissan Rouge. Now, I'm looking for the manual for it. I now 99% that it is in the garage near the weight trainer...probably on the floor under the shelf that I have some of the Christmas Decor on...and more in front of the shelf. I go and find it tomorrow. In looking through the box I keep the manuals, I was able to pitch several of them. I went through another file type box and found it was by e-bay listings and sales data from when a former co-worker and I was doing that sort of thing back around 2007-2008. I called him just to kind joke about it but now he wants to look at it.....so I had to pull it from the trash. So close....at least I know that it will be gone soon. Also going to redo the way the manuals were kept....kind of in a spiral notebook where the pages were 9x12 envelopes....like one for lawn equipment, home appliances, tools, sporting goods, etc. Something I bought year ago from CURRENT. Used to love their stuff. Anyways, I have plenty of colored file folders that I can use to refiles the manuals and they will fit back in the file box with plenty of space left over. I haven't gotten back to my book...usually I read Cozy Mysteries so this is slightly different. Glad everyone is keeping busy and getting things accomplished. I didn't do much of anything for practically a month but I'm coming out of it, I hope. Well, I want to get those manuals put away and still have to sort them and make up the folders. I guess another bowl of the stuffed pepper soup and a grilled hot ham and swiss sandwich will be supper. Take care.

Good evening all. Just been a crappy day. I thought I slept well, but I woke up tired and crabby! And the crabby stayed most of the day! Too much togetherness and not enough me time! Too much TV and not enough quiet time!
Tomorrow I have to get online and get a few things done an make some phone calls also. Doing laundry today. And we did a couple Target orders for them to bring out to the car. Had not done it that way before. It worked well. Will do it again rather than go inside.
Joy, we are closed down until May 13 right now; but WI, next door, just closed down until like May 23 or so. And the governors of a bunch of the midwest states formed a partnership to do similar timing on things. And they (WI) announced that schools will not be back in session in the classroom this school year. So I’m guessing we’ll be closed down thru the end of May at some point. We’ve been talking about when we could get Mara back at all; and talking to them about her starting nursery school. DIL told me that a day position in her new group (the rape crisis team) is opening up, and she is going to apply for it. It’s also a .75 rather than .6 (more hours/more pay) because she said DS has asked her to try to get on a more normal schedule. It will be so much better for all 3 of them as a family. She would still work every 3rd weekend, so we would have Mara every 3rd weekend, and occasionally if they had a dr appt or something that wasn’t during one of her nursery school days we might have her. But who knows when. And it may be an issue because DS may have to head back to work more full time soon. So nursery school may be sooner than later.
Ok, I’m going to knit for a while an get to bed earlier. More tomorrow!!!
