Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Yesterday it started raining a lot earlier than predicted so I never got my walk in. This morning it is sunny and cold, already walked around the block. Supposed to rain again tonight, snow in forecast tomorrow. I want Spring!
I think I’m going to make taco pasta casserole today. I haven’t had that in a while and I can freeze half of it.
Talked with my brother last night. I’m surprised how often he’s been calling - I like it. He has been getting in his walks every day. They have a nice walking path where he lives. He’s doing better than I am. Like me, he can’t wait for the temps to warm up. He likes to putter in his yard, I don’t. He gave me some YouTube watching suggestions. He knows how much I like John Krasinski and he has a few 30 minute videos called Some Good News. Anything to put a smile on my face.
I’ve been texting with one of my coworkers every now and then. It’s nice to stay connected.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, sorry to hear that you didn’t get your walk in yesterday. I understand about the weather. It is so hot and humid here that walks are difficult. The weather guesses keep saying that this is June weather not March. I can’t imagine how hot it is during the summer. If the pools were open I would walk in the pool but they aren’t open now. Nice that you are staying in contact with your DB. Your taco pasta casserole sounds good. Can you share the recipe?
Ruth, I like the look of subway tile. Will you use a dark grout with the tile? DS#2 just put in a new shower with white subway tile and gray grout. He was working on it while on school break so we didn’t see the finished product in person but the pictures look great. Nice that you could get something for all the grands. The new deck DSIL is putting in sounds great and will be used a lot. We love our deck, we consider it an outdoor room for late spring, summer and early fall. We are usually lucky and don’t have a mosquito problem so the deck is the perfect way to get outside and read or eat. We eat out there almost all summer, keeps the kitchen much cleaner.
The tile guy arrived at 8 this morning. There is a lot of prep work before the tile actually goes in. I think the prep work takes longer than the actual tile installation. We didn’t buy a real expensive tile. The wall tile was $1.99/sq ft, the floor tile (which coordinated with the wall tile) was $2.29/sq ft. Some of the tiles were much more expensive (over $20/sq ft.) The accent tile was a little pricier ($14.99/sq ft). But the good news was we only needed a little of that and I think that really makes the shower look so good.

Here’s the recipe. I only use 1/2 packet of taco seasoning, and I just put a bit of cheese on top of the pasta when I’m ready to eat. The heat from the casserole melts it, I don’t put the cheese on the entire skillet, wouldn’t freeze well.
INGREDIENTS 6 Servings 1 pound ground beef 8 ounces uncooked pasta, such as rotini or elbow macaroni. (I use whole wheat pasta because of WW points and cook longer) 1 can (8 3/4 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 1/2 cups water 1 package Taco Seasonings 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (I used reduced fat)
Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese. Bring to boil on high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle top with cheese. Cover. Cook 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted

Good morning. On my list for today, in no particular order: laundry; finish cleaning grease off those 2 small cabinet doors over the microwave/stove so DH can put the handles on and rehang; dust; vacuum the carpets on main floor; general cleaning of the main level. It’s TIME!!! Warming up here, but very windy and rain this afternoon. Only in the 50’s. Hope to actually get in a walk between the raindrops, but it’ll be iffy with the wind!
Joy, that is so nice that your brother is reaching out. I try to check in with DS Carol once a day. Didn’t talk to her yesterday, so will check in shortly.
Dottie, we decided to go with the white because it’s what we did in the kitchen and we like it and it’s affordable. Yours is beautiful tho! Our bigger expense will be increasing the size of our shower by about 2’. It will expand the front forward by the 2’, but it can’t get any wider. It will be an irregular size, so they can’t get a standard drain pan for the bottom, it will have to be built up. We’re going to do the glass doors w/o frame also. Did you have a bench built in yours? Our fiberglass one has the bench built in and we rarely use it, so it just cuts down on the actual floor space.
Joy, could you share your recipe here? Would love to try it. We’re making a WW recipe for dinner tonight; chicken with broccoli and lemon. We stopped at Fresh Thyme yesterday when we went to Target and DH picked up the produce needed and DS said the recipe looked good and we got the fresh produce for him to use also. Will drop it off later with a few other things we picked up for them.
Ok, need to get moving and get stuff done. Have a good day!
