Thinking Mistake #4: Emotional Reasoning
You think your ideas are true even though objective evidence says not.
"Since I feel like a failure for having strayed, I really must be a failure."
"I feel like I just have to have something sweet right now."
How are you doing with your emotional reasoning?

Gave into the feeling I wanted something more exciting that my regular order when we got take-out Sunday evening. Just realized that was emotional reasoning. I usually think I don't do emotional reasoning.

If it is an "I really want" thought then I get those more often than I should...
I want chocolate I want a cookie I want something sweet I want lasagna I want Mexican Etc
That said...locked in and not shopping makes "I want" much harder to implement

"I feel like I just have to have something sweet right now."
Before now, I would not have associated these behaviors with emotional eating. At least once each week this situation occurs. Usually itβs on Friday or Saturday evening when I have been OP for 5 days, have points left in my budget, and justify using them all up in one shot.

I'm actually having an easier time with emotional eating right now since I'm always thinking about my immune system and how to improve it and not drag it down.
