Thinking Mistake #5: Mind Reading
You're sure of what others are thinking, even in the absence of compelling data.
"People will think I am strange if I don't drink alcohol at the party."
"She'll think I'm rude if I don't try the brownies she baked."
Do you mind read? If you do how do you counter it?

I do mind read. Sometimes my husband says things and I then think I should eat a particular thing, when I really don't know what he is actually thinking. One thing that can happen is I'll start to wonder what people will think if I do/don't eat something, when most likely they aren't paying attention to me and my food. This doesn't happen often but I usually don't realize what I'm doing until I look back on the situation later.

I do mind read but not about food. Usually how people are going to judge me in other areas. It's gotten to be less of a thing now that I'm "elderly". Just quoting my governor. Anyone over 65...

I might mind read. I...haven't been with people in a long tie, though. I do this with my husband and sometimes get nippy "knowing" where the conversation is going...though perhaps I don't?

I mind read where food is concerned . My husband does all the cooking and I sometimes feel that he will take it personally if I donโt clean my plate. Iโm certain that Iโm correct in that assumption. ๐ My solution was to give him measurements for my portions or to leave food on my plate and โsaveโ it for another time. That works well.

OT, but Mr. Lani got laid off yesterday. We are OK financially. At least I will have more access to the computer room.

luvvinlife, Good solutions. lani, I guess it is understandable considering the situation with the virus and the lock downs.
