WHY NOT just DO IT This Wednesday...PLAN the day, heck plan the next 3 days... Planning is KEY to the success I "was" having...:-( Lately the planning gets shifted to the back burner... then the focus seems to follow... been doing "OK" the past few days but not feeling as strong and focused as I wish I was... so WHY NOT START AGAIN TODAY!??
It won't happen unless I DO IT!!
After work today - I had not lunch yesterday so I will leave work today at 4... yes, yes I will... it's my early week anyway, so IF Kaitlin is there until 5 anyway, I will leave 1/2 hour early! WHY NOT!?
I need to grocery shop... then get home so DH can have the car, take trash to transfer station - recycling too... so while he is gone I will have time to wrangle up "something" for dinner... thinking I will buy a rotisserie chicken, and maybe even some "sides"... get home and re-heat, and dinner is served... WHY NOT??
THEN I need to get some salad prepped for the next few days... will also have salad out on my Christmas buffet... still don't know what others are bringing, but MY options will be on the healthier side... so it doesn't matter what others bring! HA! The "brunch" portion won't be "AS HEALTHY" but I can make it "work" and I will even try to TRACK! Yes you heard me... I will TRACK ahead of time, as I know what will be available!
All these plans in my head... now to focus - follow through and enjoy the holiday as it comes!!
So now share you Christmas "plans" with us... who is going where - with who - eating what???

So yesterday took a "turn" on me... feeling so good about everything - got to work to find that Debbie had called OUT on Monday, so (once again) MY work didn't get done... well not what she does for me... so I had to "scramble" to get the download done for Monday and sent to accounting so it could be processed as Monday's work... Then Kaitlin had to leave early... she had a headache and her "anxiety was high" so she just couldn't be at work....
Sorry I know she's just trying to use up her sick time - I get it, but maybe she shouldn't save EVERYTHING to be used in one month! Ugghhhhh!!! This brought me to no lunch and stayed late... so leaving early today is OK in my book - unless of course she doesn't come in today... what are the odds? I don't know... but I do believe she still has a sick day to use... and quite frankly whether she has it or not she'll get it if she wants it I think!
Oh Jessica had her baby boy Friday night...8# something....she was scheduled to be induced today... but he came Friday night... they were home on Sunday so all is well... happy everything is good for them.
Anyway... let me refill my coffee and catch up...

Christine: YAY for DH taking charge and getting to the doctor! No, I had to again encourage Ken that he should call the Dr. on his day off... Oh I don't think DD will "donate" anything - she is my "hoarder" child. I just want what she doesn't wear to be toted up and lugged to the attic - out of the way!!
I was wondering about the Zzzzquil... might grab some next WAl-Mart trip!
YAY for a compromise on the Christmas time with DMIL!!! I know DSIL will be so happy to share some wine and R&R at your house...
Why IS it we overspend on Christmas so easily??
WAIT - Christine... you can drive already??? Not surprised you got out there in the midst of a storm, post-op, to help out DD!! Yay to the quick dinner, and TRACKED!!!
Nice that you could plan the day at the library and get some other work done during your recovery.... how did it go??
OMG, why are we NOT surprised the Prince didn't leave you alone even for surgery?!?? That boy...

Gabrielle: LOL...to being so "behind"... YAY to a great ride, hope you warmed up afterwards! NO WAY I can take being in the cold like that...
How young are the boys? Did you have an enjoyable time viewing Christmas lights?? DS,DDIL,DD and Eden are going to "Bright Nights" tonight... just a park you drive through and see all SORTS of lights... they have to leave before I get out of work - so I can't tag along... wouldn't be "the same" anyway, as we'd have to take multiple cars... so I am just glad that DD was included ♥
Oh I must have mis-typed, I think Heather's HSM is still $1.00 for the first month...then like you I pay the $19.95, but she says it is probably going up... except we'll be "Grandfathered" in at the lower price. She may even be capping it to keep the numbers more manageable!
Jenny: YAY to having your shopping done... I still need a couple things... local stuff... glad you were able to visit with Siobhan I am sure she relies on you to help her get through the times.
Your Christmas appetizers sound yummy! We switched to a buffet this year - same reason... have it all out there and instead of filling up on junk they can just eat whenever they want... VERY INFORMAL this year...I think I like it! LOL
Gabrielle: Whining IS allowed for you - our "sunny CA girl"... 67 is COLD for an office... I too wear a fleece most all day - every day - kinda ruins "the look" somedays... wearing my new boots today FINALLY found some tall boots that are comfy over my heavy calves!
With a skirt and tights... hoping we see the warm up they predicted... right now it is up to 6 out there... so there is hope!
LOL I am "that person" too, think why bother picking up if I can't really "clean"... but need to work on that thought process too... a little cleaning each day will go a long way to keeping the clutter at bay!!
CONGRATULATIONS! On having someone come in and do the heavy cleaning...I would LOVE to incorporate THAT into a budget around here... just weekly to do the floors and the bathrooms! Oh I know it wouldnlt take away the rest of the weekly/daily cleaning - but MAN that would be a nice gift... glad you can and DO do it... you deserve it...

Sue: Lots of red in a tracker isn't always a bad thing... we need to cut ourselves some slack every now and then - and as long as it's not every day, it should be OK for you...Deviled eggs... yuuummmm, might have to add that t my holiday buffet! Hope you got some sleep... I was out around 8 but awake from 2-3ish... up at 4:15... hey I was awake again so WHY NOT???
Shelly: LOL NO No shopping for me yet... I can out that task off as long as possible... just don't like going... was even thinking I'd leave it til Friday - have DH come down after work and "help" but now I have been asked to bring Eden home with me Friday after work!! YES... she will do an overnight, and be here for Christmas Eve morning/day... DDIL has to work at 6:00 AM, so this will be easier on ME... and since she has to be back home for late afternoon for dinner and church before coming BACK up for dessert... it just makes it easier on the driving... thankfully DS understood that and it was HIS suggestion! So I pick her up after work Friday afternoon! Might be another day I sneak out early...LOL
HA! My DD "noticed" all the cleaning/decluttering we did Monday... I told her I think I need one Monday off per month to keep up with it all!
Sorry the decorating is stressing you out... maybe someone will have a nice smaller tree (on sale) this week that would be easier for you to get put up quickly...

Morning Carole and all to follow...
Ran my errands after work, then came home wrapped the 3 gifts I need for today, chatted with DM to let her know that her calendar has still not arrived and that her package would likely be late and arrive after Christmas and she said "you are always late, so why should this be any different"...UGH!! She doesn't understand that I do her calendar AFTER Thanksgiving for a reason which means, I get caught in the holiday rush and am at the mercy of Snapfish and whatever overload they have. Then she proceeded to tell me the girls's Christmas cards were better than mine because I had "too many people" in my picture! OK, I used the pictures from out family picture...we are 11 people. The girls only used their family of 4 or 5....I just can't win!! After that depressing call I FaceTimed with Hannah & the boys...glad they are finally feeling better.
Dozed off pretty early and wandered into bed after a potty call about 1am....actually feel like I slept pretty well.
Got up bright and early and spend over an hour cracking MANY batches of peanut brittle and putting it into snack size baggies to deliver this morning!
Oh...my pumpkin trifle was a hit!!! Shared the last couple with some of the pressmen and they asked for the recipe!! Will need to get that quick before I head out!
Not much planned tonight....might get a chance to catch up!!
Waves to all...drink plenty of water and remember....moderation is the key to making through the holidays!!

Good Morning ~ quick check-in while I ice my knee...oye vey....I must have bent it too far in my sleep and today I'm paying for it! Slept in today and showered while I was upstairs, came down and started the coffee and listening to the school buses in our neighborhood - thankful to be HOME today...even if I designated today as a report writing day. Gotta review work e-mails and check in with the CEO later...

Carole - for myself, I think the best I can manage is basic steps such as portion control, lots of water (been awful with that lately) and just keep tracking even though it looks ugly. Hoping, really hoping, that next week I can start exercising - my stationary bike is calling my name! - hope DH starts feeling better soon. Too funny Tracy will NOT donate her fleeces/coats she no longer uses! DH is same here - I am secretly donating his coats from the 90's that are seriously out of style now LOL I actually might hold off on donations another week in order to get a January receipt for 2017 - I claim donations on our taxes. Yep, itemize every thing on TurboTax and usually end up doing better than if I held a garage sale. I meant to share what I do for housework: I don't. LOL Joking...it probably looks like that if you entered my house! Dusting is done every other week or as needed - usually as I talk on the phone I'll take a swifter duster to the FR - I do MB bathtub every other week which is probably bad as it needs it every week. But it is such a huge job!...laundry gets done daily. One load a day. Kitchen gets swept once a week sometimes twice if Colby is shedding badly; each Sunday I cut DH's hair in the kitchen area then immediately sweep the entire floor, foyer, and small half bath. Vacuuming should get done several times a week due to Colby but I do aim for once a week, usually Saturdays before errands. The Girls do their own rooms and their bath. I help if I can't stand their sink area LOL ...I keep Chlorox wipes under every sink for quick wipes otherwise I'll get distracted with other projects on my way to get cleaning supplies...our main clutter areas are the kitchen counter. Junk mail just piles up daily no matter what! And our front door foyer area - usually at it's worse when both DDs are home as that is where they dump boots, sneakers, work shoes, and winter coats/fleeces. No one, EVER hangs a coat - but me. Drives me nuts.

Good morning all! Just a fly-by again...counting down to Christmas and still not done shopping! That is my goal for the afternoon and then go visit Dad tomorrow since we didn't get together last Sunday.
Have been eating a lot of soup these days - I just LOVE it with cold weather. Potato soup is a little point heavy, so I limit that to only occasionally. Have been doing a lot of walking with my shopping and just finished coming back from doing the mail in the building down the street. Now working on a project to make a color scan of an odd sized brochure for one of our profs. I have to go to another office in the building to do it and it didn't come out right yesterday so this is attempt #2.
Hope everyone is doing well...will read posts tonight.

Had forgotten about the sandwich I ordered from a co-worker....only at 1/2 the roll and took off 1/2 the cheese...turned out to be like a 6" Subway Turkey sandwich with lots of veggies, no mayo, no oil...pretty good lunch except for the sodium but I will try to flush, flush, flush that away!!
Crazy busy day here...only 6 days left to the year and it's busy as usual for December.
Looking forward to a quiet night tonight when I get home...might FaceTime with David for a bit...haven't chatted in a while...his family is as busy as I am....
Oh...8 weeks from today is my knee replacement!! Can't wait!! It's really bothering me the last few days, more than normal!! Might be the cold weather?? Who knows!
Back later I hope!

Good afternoon! Why Not Wednesday? Thanks for starting us off today, Carole! Wow, I was tired this morning! I didn't do the TM or E so DH offered to run with me this afternoon...think I will take him up on it! Leaving a bit early today from work---I am the only one here and I have to do some employee calls tomorrow (on my day off) so I am going to treat myself to leaving early! It's warmer today--high of 48. Still 66 in our office though.....So, I see that Carole is already a "Silver" member with 3 stars and I am not even close! Need to work on that one!
Carole: How fun to have Eden there on Christmas Eve morning! Maybe a special holiday breakfast? Of course, she might not get "grandma's oatmeal" then. My nephews are 5 and 8 and they enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights. The one house was AMAZING. We tuned in our radio to a station that they suggested and the tree lights blinked along with the music. There was a hologram of Santa Clause in the window and he moved around and the kids LOVED it. Someone who lives there really likes to do the techy things! We visited a couple of other places--one with 230 of those inflatable Christmas characters---I have NO idea where they store all of that. Anyway, it was fun to be with the young kids. Sorry that you returned to unfinished work but I am SO glad that you are leaving early! Nice that DD noticed that you de-cluttered (and hopefully appreciated how much better it feels). Yes, I would have a hard time giving up my once-a-month deep cleaning! I see that Christine does a load of wash every night--I'm not so good about that. I do have to say though that I ALWAYS go through the mail, sort it, and toss the junk, every day. That piles up so quickly!

Christine: Yay to the sound of busses knowing that you get to be home Sorry about waking up to the tweaked knee! Hope that it didn't have to do with the time you spent at the library. Hope that you get all of the reports done today and can move on to enjoy the holiday. I have just been cutting DH's hair since his bike accident---started it then since he couldn't go to the barber and have been doing it ever since. I am not going to tell him that you do it every week....he'd love that! I do it about every 3 weeks. Lisa: Sounds like you are getting lots of steps in! I love soup too--especially in the cold weather. Nice that you will be able to see DD! Hope that the pamphlet comes out this time. If not, you'll get more steps! Shelly: Yay to Christmas Eve early and Christmas off from work! DS's store is open both days till 10 pm. He is lucky though--only has to work till 7 on Christmas Eve and 6 on Christmas. I just can't believe that they are open. Nice that the grandkids are coming over! That will be fun!
