Thinking Mistake #7: Unhelpful Rules
You mandate actions without taking circumstances into consideration.
"I can't waste food"
"I can't inconvenience my family by cooking healthier meals or getting the junk food out of the house."
Do you have any rules for yourself that may be holding you back?

The "I can't waste food" one has been causing me problems lately. It is so hard to throw out the last little bit so I usually eat it and usually track it although not always. One of my rules is no sweets in the house but that rule has really helped me.

I have had both of these...especially when children were at home. Just this morning I realized that what *I* need may need to come first. That said, hubby will get regular foods and since I had told myself I was going to have say full-fat yogurt to make shopping easier for Inna (friend shopping for us) I have been eating full fat instead of nonfat labne and laban. Hmm...
I think my sister's move to doing WW blue program may be the incentive for me to get back to portion control and counting (as I can) again.

Lately, Iβve been trying to slow down my eating and I found that most times, I get full before Iβm done. I canβt throw it away, so like you bbbearsmom, I finish it or save it. My other rule is that I have to have a starch, protein and vegetable at dinner. It causes me to overeat at times. I should make a new rule about water. Iβm not drinking enough. ππ
