Good morning all. Slept pretty well last night and woke up to sunshine blue sky no wind. Win win day. At least I'll get out and move.
Watched the last episode of Better Call Saul last night. We so enjoyed the series. Carl wants to revisit BB but we'll see.
Other than a few odds and ends here, nothing much on the agenda. I did a lot or organizing yesterday so that I have a better idea of what we have vs what we need. It was time consuming, but well worth the effort.
Pam sounds like you had a very busy day. So sorry about the death at the NH.
Need to keep moving to complete my online stuff....will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! Our beautiful weather yesterday was but a teaser. But that’s okay as it is predicted to return at the end of the week. We will have a couple of rainy days in between. I see that the sky is clearing somewhat right now and I may try and catch a walk in between the raindrops.
Ann ~ Glad to hear you slept well last night. I did as well, and I cannot tell you what a relief that was! I got too warm in the night and folded the quilt back and slept very comfortably the rest of the night. I also have ‘nothing’ on my schedule for today and may just keep it that way. It is a dreary day and may be perfect for curling up with my book.
Judy ~ Good for you for taking the initiative to do your own roots. This seems to be a time when we find out all the things we can do if necessary. My DH cut his own hair last evening – and did quite a decent job. He used a comb and clippers, and it looks much better around his face. We only cleaned up his neckline, so the back of his hair is still a bit longer than usual, but it’ll do until he can visit his barber. Happy Birthday to your DGS!! Such a fun age!!
Pam ~ So sorry about your friend’s husband. This is such a trying time for so many. It’s especially hard when it hits so close to home. I do not envy you the nursing home dilemma in your area. I had to LOL about your DGK in the sprinkler. It was warm out today but I don’t think I’d venture near water. But I’m sure the kids are bored beyond belief and looking for any respite whatsoever.
I did my weekly WW WI today and stayed exactly the same. I’ll take it. I am still down 5 lbs since the stay-at-home started. I tried on some things yesterday and ALL my jeans fit so I could live at this weight, but I will still lean towards losing 5 more, but no pressure. I think I will bring up some more of my capris (from storage downstairs) today and hang them in my closet. I am hopeful that I’ll be wearing them by next week?? I did put away some ‘winter’ shoes yesterday and got out some fabric sneakers that I wear for Spring & Fall.
Yesterday I also got the phone number of a local beauty salon. I have been there to have my nails done when my tech works there every other Thursday, so I know the staff. I asked my tech for a recommendation and she gave me one along with her cell number. So when they reopen I will give her a call. Where I have been going is a half hour away and the prices are a bit out of my range plus the long drive and then lunch out. Now seems like a perfect time to make a change. Actually I am kind of looking forward to it, though I will miss my hairdresser of many years. Sometimes change is good. In fact, I haven’t yet told my nail tech that I probably won’t be getting my nails done any more.
We had Hamburger Pie with a side of coleslaw for supper last night and it was delicious! I had an idea that after I browned the meat in the black skillet, I would just make the whole thing in the skillet and pop it right in the oven. No idea why I didn’t do that before?? I have always put it in a glass casserole dish to bake it. But it worked out well, and we ate half and I packed half away for another meal.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue so happy you slept well also. Taking a day off is a good idea. Here, we have sunshine blue sky so I shall take full advantage and take a few good hood walks. I AM taking a day off from household chores. Will only do the wiping down routine. That will feel good. Fantastic job on the maintain. You are doing well I hear you on the change. I also changed hair stylists as going into Worcester was just getting old...also my nail gal in Leominster and Weight Watchers in Leominster.......I still miss Enzo...even though I'm happy with my new hair gal. Once I got it in my head to finally make the change it all worked out. Oh, we also changed PCP's which was hard but so necessary. So far the change is a good fit! We had the rest of the pot roast for supper last night. My weight was up .2 this a.m. as I had more popcorn than usual as we finished watching Better Call Saul No biggie and still within my happy zone so it's all good. Time to get a move on. Will CBL

Hi all,
Happy Hump day and I am gearing up for another long walk with D&D on this beautiful day. People are walking by without coats - I don't think it is that warm, but my lighter Land's End barn jacket will do. Sue, I know you love that one, too!
Thank you for your supportive words for DD's terrible situation. I have nothing I can say about someone who does not want to support his children when he has very ample means. He is unstable and has many psychological issues. I'm sorry that all of our judgments were so clouded when we so graciously welcomed him into our family. The real thoughts i have to describe him aren't suitable for print. Maybe I will email you all We have another conference call with the lawyer tomorrow and I'll keep you posted because he has taken another terrible step in proceedings. I fear we will wind up in court because the only way to settle this will be in front of a good judge. Thankfully, DD's lawyer was a family court judge and has about 13 office in CA.
I just was bumped off this thread and my VPN status on the computer. After an hour I got it started and was shocked to find the thread still here.
Off to eat my salad topped with tuna salad. Hungry and then I'll head out for my noontime walk. I'll BBL! I'm afraid I'll be bumped again so I want to send this off. More later...

Judy I've also seen those walking without coats. I was a little chilly so I put on a lighter weight quilted jacket that has seen much better days but still works. It's one I piked up at LL Bean, so the quality is there I can so sympathize with you, Judy re: DD and that $*()W# she is leaving!!!!!! So very happy that DD has a reputable attorney. Keeping her in my prayers. Wonder why you were bumped off the site? Strange...then again I swear aliens run computers LOL. I did take one rather short and leisurely walk earlier. Went 2 miles and stopped to talk to a couple that is living here from NYC. Her dad and his wife are stuck in Arizona and they are originally from NYC and moved here to get OUT of the city. Can't say I blame them. He is a physical ed teacher (and you can tell by the running jogging he does_) and she is a physical therapist for babies and young children. She is now working via zoom which is tricky at best I'm sure. Trying to teach what comes natural to her. Under different circumstances, we'd have them over for a meal. Should I find some inner strength, I'll walk again. Right now I'm running on empty. Take care and will pop in later. Judy enjoy that walk!

Good morning!
We had significant storms during the night and a power outage, but the worst of it--tornado & hail--passed way east of us. We got lots of rain and some wind, which put a tree over the power line. My sleep was fitful, so I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep. DH woke me at 8:30.
He decided we needed to restock some items and made another order to Super 1 which he picked up this morning when he went to pick up a prescription at Walmart. Right after he got home, I got notice that my prescription was ready. Figures! I decided it would be a good time to drop off the car for servicing, so DH followed me back to town and we picked up my meds after dropping off the car. We will make a 3rd trip when they call to let me know it's ready. Good thing it's only an 18 mile round trip.
Things are quiet and lazy today since it's cloudy and damp out. The sun is supposed to return this afternoon, so I will get my walk in then. We decided on pizza and salad for dinner, so I am eating light today. The scale is edging down once again and I would like for that trend to continue. I have a batch of peasant bread rising and plan to drop off a loaf for DD1 and family.
Sue - Yay on the maintain! I can appreciate your angst about changing hairdressers, but I will tell you that it worked out well for me. I have gotten lots of compliments on both my new hairdo and the change in color. My former hairdresser is speaking to me again and seems to have gotten past her fear that she offended me in some way, even though I told her it was nothing she had done. It was just time for a change.
Judy - It must be very painful for you and DH to see your daughter mistreated. Unfortunately, it seems in this country men only support their families when they choose to. So many of them skate on child support, hide income, etc. in spite of court orders. I hope her attorney is able to get her a fair settlement locked in and that your former SIL does what he is supposed to do. I think my years working with the welfare system has soured my view of this.
Ann - .2 after popcorn is nothing to worry about, as you well know. Enjoy your day!

Hi again,
We're back from a nice walk of about 2 miles. D&D started getting too hot or we would have gone further. They crack me up - prima donnas! Now they are exhausted and will rest well for the remainder of the day.
I chuckled, Pam, at your saying only 18 miles round trip. Yikes- that would be an overnight trip for us! :-) A real journey for us city/suburban slickers. I know it must be very peaceful living in the country so worth the trade-off. Yes, you are so right about some of the men in this country. If you luck out, you get a decent one when it comes to support. My older brother was so generous and often upped his child support when he'd get promotions and took such great care of his children. This one is a real headcase. I am that in social work you see everything.
I haven't gone for the hair color yet. My hairdresser said she would put it in the driveway and she'll send me a video. But I'm still afraid I'll mess it up and get dye in my eyes or some dumb thing. I may just wait. I don't see anyone anyhow.
Sue, kudos to you on the weight loss and maintenance! Very impressive. I gained steadily for the first 3 weeks and then reeled it in. No way could that random eating continue. I am feeling better and eating healthier.
Ann, glad you slept well and popcorn is worth a little bump up. Nice that you chatted with neighbors from NYC. I saw so many people out walking and bike riding today and kids on scooters, etc. Everyone is happy for good weather!
I'll check in later. Off to get some work done.

LOL your D&D are so like miss LuLa. When SHE has had enough, she simply turns around and 'leads us' home! This has nothing to do with the weather...she walks in snow rain ice you name it...it's more a LuLa-ism than anything else. She is sleeping and snoring away on her section of the sectional Carl is busy separating and sealing meats that we bought. He's humming away as he works LOL. All I can say is thank God for the sealing machine and a separate freezer! I'd love to be introduced to that 'stranger' that is looking back at me from the mirror!!!! I don't recognize the HAIR she has. Multiple colors not to mention the outward growth! My hair is very thick and coarse and not long enough to put up or tie back. It's so heavy that it is now wanting to split down the middle!!!!! Definitely NOT attractive in the least. I will RUN to the salon once it is safe to do so. My guess is that I'll be donning this look for some time! Even trying to use a curling iron is moot as my hair is too heavy. Okay...rant over with. That is small potatoes compared with your storm, Pam and losing power. Happy you missed the other weather and shut off the alarm to get in more sleep. Smart move. Enjoy your pizza and salad. I'm a firm believer in balancing foods out Awesome your scale is moving in the right direction. Yeah, the .2 from the other day and the .2 from yesterday...I'm good with. Actually I was surprised that the .2 from pasta night wasn't more! I'll accept both as a gift and move on. Someone was supposed to come and look at/fix the pipe today...but so far nobody has shown up. We will just sit and wait it out. I should go for another walk...we'll see. I just can't seem to get out of my own way today!

Good Afternoon, All ~
We have had a very lazy day indeed. I brought up the remainder of my summer pants (capris & skimmers) from downstairs - tried them all on to find everything fits perfectly! Now they are all hanging in my closet waiting for the warm up (which is inevitable). I store the hangers in the plastic bin with them, so it's easy.
DH made a drive up to his brother's house today and took him a container of Breakfast Casserole that I made and froze. I had printed out the instructions on the top. I am sure he will enjoy it. DH stayed and visited with him for a while - but as he told me they were social distancing by sitting on separate couches. <LOL>
Judy ~ I can understand your hesitation to do your own hair. I feel that way about my nails. It's rather like "never kick a sleeping cat" as they are staying together well and if I mess with them I may disturb the delicate balance that is going so well. But OTOH I colored my own hair at home for years before I began having it done in the salon and it really is quite easy. You'll make the right decision, I just know.
Pam ~ I also have a concern about what my former hairdresser will think when I tell her I am not returning. We have been friends for many years, but I had told her back when we first retired and closed our business that I may not be able to afford to continue to come there. So she shouldn't be shocked. I suspect the price will be less at the new place, plus it's close by. I have been making my appointments ahead of time for every five weeks - and oftentimes it doesn't quite need it by then. Now I can wait until I think I need a haircut to call for an appointment and probably save a lot of $$. Besides, as you mentioned, change is good.
Ann ~ I had to LOL about Lula dictating the walk, etc. Isn't that always the way?? I fully understand the rant about your hair. My hair is thick and coarse and I am experiencing some of the same difficulties you mentioned. It is manageable right now but I fear that will not be the case in a few more weeks. At least everyone else looks the same way.
I learned how to do video calling on my Alexa app yesterday. I was exploring it and remembered that my VBF has an Echo with Alexa also - so I checked and she has the app on her phone. We set a time to chat and I called her and it worked great! It actually works exactly like FaceTime (which we can't use because she has an android phone which doesn't have FaceTime). So we were able to chat and 'see' each other. I even 'showed' her DH's haircut and we all got a good laugh!
Today was a DOR for me as it is grey and dreary and rainy outdoors. I have taken it easy and enjoyed it very much. We are also having pizza and salad for supper, so I have kept my SP very low with my Yogurt & Berries breakfast and then a HB egg and Premier Protein drink for lunch.
Have a great evening!!

Lol Sue yup miss LuLa has us wrapped around her paw! If I weren't so chicken I'd cut my own hair. At this point it could only be an improvement!!!!
We are in for two days of rain. Happy I forced myself to walk before supper.
Now it's time to relax.
Looking forward to connecting with ya'll tomorrow.
Great you got to talk and see your friend.
