Good morning friends and welcome to May Praying it will be a better month for all of us. It's pouring out there. I'm just hoping that it stops at some point so that I can get a hood walk in. I was most grateful yesterday when that happened.
I shall continue to KOKO, plan, track, move and hydrate as I do every day. No 'big plans'. More than likely watch a few episodes of BCS.
Will balance checkbook and pay bills today. Then read.
Later....

Good morning friends and it's May Day! Does anyone remember the May Pole and all those sweet traditions? Whatever happened to that? I used to love dancing around the May pole with flowers as a kid.
Ann, your menus sound perfect. I like to see what you three are eating. I had a slight gain today and at first I was mad - then I turned to analysis. LOL I think my Hello Fresh Tuscan Pork sausage with pasta was too big a portion. I'll have to rein that it. It is so hard to drop weight at this stage of life, but I WON'T give up. Ever.
Breakfast for me was a Light n Fit peach yogurt and a Sumo orange from Whole Foods. Expensive little devils but they are so good. I'd rather have something really yummy and sweet than something so-so that is a little cheaper. More satisfying.
Lunch will be a half of a baked potato with broccoli/a dollop of Daisy (ha) LF sour cream and a bit of lf cheddar shredded. That really fills me.
Dinner will be the last of the Hello Fresh meals tonight - Chicken with brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes. And, later while watching The Wire, I'll have a glass of Whitehaven savignon blanc. I keep it to four oz and that's plenty. The Wire is really taking some twists and turns now. We are on the dockworker season Ann, I will start BCS after this. I really liked that character and my DS loves that show. If you liked Downton Abby, there is another show that is similar I hear called The English Game on Netflix. My friends recommended it.
I wish it was sunny today. This rain day after day gets a bit depressing. TTFN..

Judy I remember all the May traditions. Going to parochial school, we would write petitions down and prayers and then we would burn them (well the nuns did that) while I priest was there blessing all the prayers and we would sing songs to Mary as May and October are dedicated to her. That brought back very fond memories
I also have a hard time with portion sizes. If it's something that I REALLY enjoy...anything PASTA related.....I'm in trubble Glad that you found where you strayed. That's more than half the battle right there. I know you won't give up and we won't let ya We've got each others backs in this Cafe! I tried to like Downton Abby but not really into British or period programs. Probably the only one on the planet that felt that way. I know my sister Judy loved it as well as most of my friends. Your Hello Fresh meal sounds great. Enjoy. Also love that lunch. I used to often take a baked potato to work and top it with cottage cheese and broccoli or red roasted peppers. Great and it does stick by you. Also wish we could see the sunshine. I'll settle for it stopping long enough to get a walk in. Carl is out with miss LuLa now. I stayed behind so I can finish up a few chores before he gets back and then we'll sit and enjoy another coffee and more than likely another episode of BCS

Good morning! Sorry for all your rain. I am hereby sending you some sunshine and warmer temps by standing on my front porch and blowing toward the northeast. Keep your fingers crossed that it works! DH and I got the onions, which will be used for salsa later, chopped and in the freezer. I cleaned and mopped floors and made it to church for the rosary recitation. I also got in a walk, but had to slow my pace. I wore the wrong socks and was close to developing a blister, so took things slower. Unfortunately, I forgot to use my vanilla spray and got gnat bites on both ears, which are itching like the devil today. I will be SO glad when those nasty little devils are finally gone! FYI - I learned last night that the films which would have been presented at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) are available on Prime for a limited time. They range in length from a few minutes to a couple hours. I watched about 5 last night instead of St. Elsewhere. I liked 2/5. Guess I'm just not "artsy" enough. I am down 1.1 at WI today, so my renewed efforts were rewarded. Judy, never stress over a small gain. You are correct to analyze where you might do better and carry on. Even with a loss this week, I am going over the past few days and thinking of things that need to change going forward. Breakfast this morning will be a piece of Dave's with 2 slices of bacon and a yogurt. For my dinner, I will have more boiled crawfish since the season won't last much longer and it's a low point meal. Not sure what lunch will be yet. I don't remember ever having a May pole when I was young. Today, the U.S. & Canada will re-consecrate the countries to Mary. That will be part of our prayers at church this afternoon. Waving at Sue. Have a wonderful day all of you!

Pam I never did get Vanilla essential oil. Only vanilla I have is pure extract. Wonder if that would work? The may flies here are horrible. I almost knocked my eyeglasses off shooing them away.
It stopped raining so we did get a walk in. Will go again later, weather permitting.
Time for lunch.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! And Happy May Day!! We have sunshine and milder temps today with an anticipated 70 dg this weekend! We'll take it!!
I got two (single) walks in yesterday. One time with a rain jacket and the later one with a rain jacket AND an umbrella. So far I have walked double this morning and it was much more enjoyable in the sunshine!
We had Pasta Roni Fettucine Alfredo with chopped chicken breast last night for supper paired with roasted fresh asparagus. For my snack I had Light & Fit Strawberry Cheesecake yogurt with a graham cracker. This morning I had my Yogurt & Berries breakfast; and a Chocolate Premier Protein drink for lunch. DH is working today. He got a call for an A/C job that involves going up on rooftop, so he waited for the rain to stop and today is a beautiful day for it!! Tonight we are having tuna & mushroom soup over brown rice with green beans.
I watched the 'protest' at our State Capitol yesterday on TV and I must say I was terribly embarrassed by my fellow Michiganders. No masks, no social distancing, open guns, deplorable language and behavior. How sad!
I think I will take advantage of this beautiful day and do some more walking.
BBL. Make a great day!!

So sorry people are acting up in Michigan Sue. I guess they don't realize we are all in this together and that there is power in numbers. Great job on your walking.
I just came back from walk #2. Warm out there or maybe it's just me lol.
Will go again later. Time for coffee again.

Ann - I don't use essential oil. Just plain old vanilla extract in water. Hope it works for you!
Sue - People surely can make fools of themselves, can't they? I'm glad you are enjoying some nice spring weather. It sure boosts one's mood.
I have been a slug today, other than a few "puttering" chores. I have spent the day reading and cruising the computer. I still need to at least get in a walk.

I went for walk # 2 and it was absolutely delightful!! Then I came home and took my car to the do-it-yourself car wash up the street and washed it. THEN I came home and cleaned the insides of my windows. I felt like I had accomplished something. I filled my gas tank the first week of March and I have used 1/8 of a tank so far since then. That is honestly the first place I've been besides Meijer for groceries.
Our stay-at-home order has been extended to May 15th. Our Governor continues to slowly (very slowly) let certain trades return to work - primarily those working outdoors. Meanwhile, other places are reporting new safety measures they are readying to put in place. It's okay because most of us aren't in any hurry to get back out there. It will come in time. At least at today's news briefing she made mention of school resuming in the Fall - and that has been a concern of mine.
I made the decision to switch beauty salons, and asked my nail gal for a recommendation at a nearby shop (where she does nails every other week) and she gave me a name AND cell phone number. I called today and talked to my "new hairdresser" and she was very happy about our new relationship. I feel good about it too. It is only 5 minutes from home (versus previously driving half an hour each way) plus right on my way home from school.
I had planned tuna & rice for supper, but DH just called and he suggested he would bring home our favorite Green Apple Salads for supper. We haven't had them for ages!! My planned supper can very well be set aside for tomorrow night. I also have plenty of SP left today. Sounds like a festive plan!
Judy ~ You are so wise to look at your portion size. That is usually my biggest downfall! If I remember to weigh and measure, I do quite well. Sometimes that 1/2 cup serving looks too small - but then when I eat it, I find that it really WAS plenty! NO! We never give up!! We got your back!
Pam ~ I also have the sunshine - but probably not nearly as warm as you! I do have my bedroom window open and the door wall - letting some fresh air in the house. Congrats on your WL! We can DO this!
Ann ~ Sorry about your rain - we had two days of it and it was definitely more than enough!!I did walk in the rain yesterday but it's not my favorite thing. Maybe if it was warmer I would have been okay with it. I also LOVE anything pasta!! Last night I made Pasta Roni (which makes 2 servings) so portion control is not a problem.
I saw pictures on "TMZ" of the protest in Lansing (MI) yesterday, and now they are also showing the ridiculousness of it on "Inside Edition". Gee ....we're famous! For all the wrong reasons.
BBL. Have a great evening!!

Hi all,
I went for a nice long walk today with D&D and I agree, Ann, that it was very warm! We are going to the Cape tomorrow for a break and I’ll pack up the cooler in the am. Beaches are closed even for walking but it’ll be nice to just look at the water.
I did a dopey thing today because I completely forgot about poor Daisy’s vet appt to get her shots. They have a system where they stagger the appt and come out to the car to get the dog. They called the other day and changed the tone and I forgot to jot it down. So now she is bumped back to May 16. It’s ok but I hate doing things like that!
We decided to change dinner tonight and splurge on really good gourmet 🍔 burgers from Burton’s. We were both hankering for one. These had guacamole, other yummy veggies and homemade fries. All tracked! No cheese but they were nice big burgers.
My friend called today and told me that Stop & Shop was completely out of chicken and had very little other meats. It’s a mess. I read that restaurants and institutions are the main customers of much of our livestock and food production. With so many plants closed due to the virus and so many restaurants and other big institutions like colleges are closed, they were in a real dilemma.
Sue, that green apple salad always sounds good. What is in it? You mentioned it quite often so I’m just wondering. You are so right about portion sizes. I can seriously underestimate the amount that’s on my plate if I’m not careful. And like you say a half cup of something like rice often doesn’t look like enough but it really is.
Pam, great work on losing over a pound. The program really works when we work it! I am with you on some of the really artsy films and I’m not sure if they go right over my head or if they’re really not that great after all. I’ll have to check out the SXSW films on Amazon and I’ll let you know what I think. I’m going through an escape reading time as well. I downloaded a free kindle book by a romance author named Barbara Freethy. I’m not generally a reader of this genre but so far so good. This is a good time for fun easy to read novels.
Ann, have fun watching BCS!

Just got back in the nick of time before the sky opened up. It is pouring right now...complete with thunder. I just hope we don't lose power! Sue your supper sounds delish. Happy that you can set what you were going to have aside for another tasty meal. Happy I'm not the only one that suffers from pasta portion control I read where our governor is having a meeting on the 4th of this month to decide what/when things will 'open up'. I'm praying that he takes a conservative approach. We shall see. I'm not as diligent with listening to the news as it really makes me anxious. Carl does and is careful with what he shares with me. I'm good with that. Almost time for supper and I'm hungry. Wishing all a wonderful evening...and talk to you in the a.m. I'll put the coffee on

Judy we were posting at the same time. So happy that you will be going to the Cape tomorrow for a break! It's supposed to be nice weather. Enjoy MMM to the burger. I love a nice juicy burger every once in awhile and it just hits the spot. With or without cheese...doesn't matter much to me Sometimes I get 'self righteous and get it without In my way of thinking, I have have more fries LOL. So sorry about the missed vet visit. I'm sure they understood as we are most definitely not in normal times......
I've read Barbara Freethy and enjoyed her light writing. Yes we are so enjoying BCS It's getting darker out there and I'm going to shut down. Again...............wishing y'all a wonderful evening.
