Happy Saturday friends. Slept pretty well which surprised me seeing as I fell asleep on the couch before bed! I WAS reading It's so refreshing and wonderful to see the bright sunshine after 2 days of rain drizzle and grey sky. We'll take full advantage of this beautiful day.
We are going to splurge on some frozen Chinese food that we bought awhile ago. Every time I open up the small freezer I see it on the door LOL......I shall plan my day around that.
Will CBL....One load of laundry is already washing away.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We woke to temps in the 50's with a predicted high of 70+.Though there are clouds now, the sun is beginning to peek through. I am looking forward to getting outdoors some today.
DH did a big job yesterday and has to go back and finish it up today. Also while he was there, another piece of equipment failed, so he will be repairing that today as well.
Judy ~ A Green Apple Salad has nothing to do with apples. It is a fabulous Greek salad with a homemade creamy Greek dressing. A customer of ours years ago bought a restaurant close by and purchased most of his equipment and decor at our auctions. When DH stopped in to check on them while remodeling, the owner asked him to try what was going to become their "signature salad". DH came home and told me he had had the best salad EVER! The restaurant ended up being named The Green Apple, hence the Green Apple Salad name. That was years ago, and that salad remains one of our favorites. They really hit the spot last night. Have a wonderful day at the Cape!! A change of scenery can be so beneficial.
Ann ~ I can relate to news that makes me "anxious", but I have done pretty well with this pandemic. I make a point to watch our Governor (who does a press briefing three times a week). I especially appreciate her positive attitude and common sense approach. She was a bit verbally critical yesterday about the gun-toting, Confederate flag and swastika waving crowd that demanded to be let in to the Capitol building while the legislature was in session. But it only came up after a reporter asked her about it.
Pam ~ Hope you got your walk in yesterday. I think some days are just meant to "be a slug". Glad you got some rest. Hope you have sunshine again today.
We have had breakfast of Thomas' Bagel Thin, light cream cheese,2 slices of Hormel bacon and half an orange each. After all the talk yesterday about burgers, we decided to have them tonight. DH had said he might have a burger for lunch yesterday because the restaurant where he was working (which happens to be Mexican) has one of his favorite burgers. When he got home he said he never got it. Meanwhile I was reading all of your chatter online about burgers, so I offered to make them tonight. We have some leftover coleslaw in the fridge, as well as some corn-on-the-cob. We are planning a "picnic" on the front porch this evening.
BBL. Make a great day!

Happy sunny Saturday all! It’s a beautiful day and I’m sitting at my kitchen table watching joggers in shorts and tees running by. Everyone looks so happy to be outdoors in good weather. We plan to head out to the Cape in a bit after we do a few things here.
I made spinach, egg, tomato and cheese burritos for breakfast and topped them with salsa. We really enjoyed them. The tortilla hit the spot. Good switch from WW bread.
Sue, I love your sweet little traditions of a picnic on the porch. You know how to make a special event out of the little daily things. That’s what I call a real quality of life! Your DH is a very lucky guy. Have fun.
Ann, I love Chinese food, too. Enjoy! I’m sure you will log some good miles today. Happy reading, too. I’m enjoying my light reading so much. I needed a good mental health easy and fun couple books to take me away from bad news.
Listening to Cat Stevens “Morning Has Broken” on Alexa now. I always loved his music and I saw a Facebook video of him recently playing this song to inspire people during COVID. I love that many singers are doing daily songs to boost peoples moods and keep them going. I love the band the Mavericks and their lead singer Raul Malo is doing that as well and he has such a wonderful voice. He could be an opera sing if he wanted to. Plus, I find him “dreamy”!

Sue happy that you weather is cooperating. It's absolutely beautiful here. Coffee was extra good this morning. After posting going to plan my meals and track them. Happy you are doing well with listening to news and dealing with it. I listen and read in dribs and drabs ... only when I feel I can handle it! If not, my mind goes dark and can't have that Enjoy your burger 'picnic on the porch' tonight. What a perfect way to end the day. Enjoy the sunshine. Ahhh Judy...we had a wonderful friend sing that song at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel when Carl and I married. Absolutely LOVE that song by him. The words are spot on. Happy you and DH are going to the Cape. Enjoy your change of pace. I'm sure you will. Miss LuLa is sitting patiently at the door waiting to be walked. TTFN and will CBL Hi Pam

Good morning all!
It is a new, sunny day and I am determined to put all anxiety and sadness behind me after a day of wallowing in it.
Today, we will pick up orders at Walmart (DH is ALWAYS finding something else to buy!) and Tractor Supply. ( I am getting potting soil to repot my house plants and start some flowering pots, as well as top soil to fill a flower bed and plant flowers there.
After shopping, we will go to DD1's for what is becoming our weekly family gathering, which I very much look forward to. Even when we talk on the phone fairly regularly, it is so much more fun to actually see each other in person. I do miss the hugs and kisses, though. I dreamed about hugging and kissing DD1 and then realizing I shouldn't have done that. How sad! But this too, shall passs.
DH is in the garden harvesting garlic, so I'm guessing we'll be putting some of that in the freezer soon. Sigh! Garlic is so tedious to peel and freeze.
I totally enjoyed my boiled crawfish last evening, but my fingers are like sausages this morning and the scale is up 1.5, so I will need lots of water to flush out all the sodium today. We are planning to have weinies and lentils (Beanie Weenie) for dinner. Lunch will be a chef salad and for breakfast my favorite yogurt, fruit and seeds.
Make yourself a great day!

Pam good to see you and happy that you have a fun time planned with DD1! I bet you do miss the hugs and kisses. I am a hug gal by nature and miss doing that with those that I consider like-minded in our community. It was beautiful out today, so we talked from a safe distance. Not what it used to be for sure, but we'll take it. I know the feeling of sausage fingers, Pam. It's just warm enough to have made my fingers swell up. I had to stop and pry off my wedding band. Normally I don't wear it when walking but I felt like putting it on. Your meals sound great. I am all planned and tracked for the day. I worked around the Chinese food as best I could. I'll more than likely see a blip in the scale tomorrow...but will drink more water to help compensate. Wishing all a wonderful Saturday

Happy Saturday Evening ~
We had absolutely gorgeous weather all day today!! I walked this morning and enjoyed it very much. Right after I got home, my niece called me and we chatted for an hour on the phone. That was a real treat as we usually get together quite often and I have missed her.
DH and I enjoyed our first picnic of the year - with steak burgers, corn-off-the-cob and coleslaw. The breeze was constant and the wind chimes were singing the whole time.
I read some this afternoon and feel quite tired because I did not sleep well last night. Hopefully tonight will be better!!
Have a wonderful evening and a good night!!

Good Evening!
We had a great visit with the DDs, even though we had to move to the other side of the yard when the neighbor's lawn service showed up to mow. Jude and DSIL were off working, but Anna and Abby kept us entertained. We blew bubbles, which Abby chased and made clover flower crowns and exchanged recipes. We got our grocery pick up and gardening supplies before we went, so it was a great afternoon. We are planning a picnic for next Sunday, weather permitting.
I got in a long walk this morning and another shorter one after we got back from our visit. I walked down to bring Dee some masks DSIS made and mailed to our house, with extras for Dee. We had a carport visit and then I walked back. DH and I were both hungry, so we had an early (for us) dinner of burgers and air-fries with fresh sauteed yellow squash from the garden, the first of the season. We decided to save the Beanie Weenie for tomorrow.
I had a nice long talk with DD3's DMIL today. She is a dental hygienist and is somewhat reluctantly retiring because she just doesn't want to jump through all the sanitation hoops that will be required when they reopen, nor does she want to risk exposing her DH, elderly mom or sister with cancer. Her mom is scheduled for hernia surgery May 15 and she will stay with her mom for 2 weeks after discharge, to avoid any possibility of exposing her husband. I did some research for her of home health agencies in their area and sent some suggestions and the Medicare compare site. The last time her mom had surgery, the home health agency they got was awful.
Now, it's time to get the kitchen cleaned and get jammified.
Ann - Sounds like you had a busy day and earned a good night's sleep.
Sue - Your picnic complete with wind chimes sounded heavenly.
Judy - I hope you are safely at the Cape and enjoying the ocean breezes.
