I saw my friend's daughter in law (mid 20s)this evening to trim her bangs. They are in my safe circle, she is very careful. She told me her age group is done with this, they are getting back to living their lives. Has anyone informed Covid-19 of this ? Sigh.

i can't find it online right now but my ex husband just showed me something on twitter that was something to the effect of "covid: a play in four acts". first frame is from a guy's facebook on apr 28 saying that covid is a hoax. 2nd frame is a the guy posting a picture from a water park for memorial day weekend. 3rd frame is his FB post from july 2 with the guy saying "this covid things sucks. can't breathe very well." 4th frame is same guy's obituary page on july 4. and it's not a fake. someone put it together from his FB posts (well, for the first 3 posts anyway). Fin, don't go hunting for it, but if you happen across it again, could you post it ? I would like to share it. I know Disney isn't a water park, but it reminded of this insanity. Disney World Opens Its Gates, With Virus Numbers RisingAnd the coronavirus continued its rampage through Florida, with state officials reporting 10,360 new infections, the third-highest daily jump since the pandemic began. www.nytimes.com/2020/07/11/business/florida-coronavirus-disney-world-reopening.html

fullmahina, Thanks for finding it for us. It is sad that people aren't understanding the seriousness of this and are killing themselves because of it.

alias123 , finreporter Okay it took me forever and I really should be doing something constructive but...... Well, I've just spent the past two days (3 hours each day) watching "The Hunger Games", the first two movies (last two are recorded and I'll watch later). Talk about a horrific existence.

Loved those movies but yeah, horrific. We have all of the Harry Potter movies in the DVR now and will binge watch one of these days.

Very unlikely that there will be "herd immunity" to COVID-19 without a vaccine. I for one am horrified by the suggestion that letting it run its course through society would be the way to go. There is a neighborhood in the borough of Queens with the unfortunate name of Corona. This particular area was especially hard hit in NYC. I saw this article the other day about the possibility of herd immunity in the area. One problem is antibody testing I've read is only 50% accurate. Still it's interesting, 68% Have Antibodies in This Clinic. Can a Neighborhood Beat a Next Wave?
Data from those tested at a storefront medical office in Queens is leading to a deeper understanding of the outbreak’s scope in New York. At a clinic in Corona, a working-class neighborhood in Queens, more than 68 percent of people tested positive for antibodies to the new coronavirus. At another clinic in Jackson Heights, Queens, that number was 56 percent. But at a clinic in Cobble Hill, a mostly white and wealthy neighborhood in Brooklyn, only 13 percent of people tested positive for antibodies. -- Full article www.nytimes.com/2020/07/09/nyregion/nyc-coronavirus-antibodies.html

I've thought from the beginning this thing is going to have to run it's course. Of course we won't have a clear picture for a few years at best.
It's spreading at a pretty good clip at the moment.
I did read that we need 67% immunity, not sure how they got that number.

I feel bad about not feeling bad about this, you know what I mean? I feel bad that this asshole put health workers and others in jeopardy of passing the virus, and I feel angry that he took up a bed space that someone else could have had. But I cannot manage to feel bad about him. And that bums me out because what does that say about me as a human being? I feel like this whole situation with these Covidiots is sucking my humanity from me. And fuck them for doing that, too.

If you didn't, this kind of thing would not make you so angry. Personally, I feel bad for family that may have loved him and sad that his arrogant stupidity cost him his life. The fact that he may have infected others infuriates me, as well it should. Goodnight, Richard Donald Rose III. You screwed up...you screwed up real bad.

I just finished re-reading the Hunger Games trilogy so I was pleased to find them on television. They did a marathon so I recorded all four movies. However I discovered afterwards that it was on a channel with commercials. But they do play large chunks of the movie in between, and since they are recorded I can fast forward. So two down, two to go.
