Good morning all and happy Monday. Slept pretty well and grateful for that. Will concentrate on having low sodium today. Had back to back sodium bombs and I'm sure the scale will reflect my damage once again today.
Judy hope you and DH are enjoying the Cape. Missed you in the Cafe
Time to continue on with my desktop stuff...waving to Pam and Sue and will CBL......once I'm having coffee I shall plan my day. All I know is chicken is for supper LOL.

My day is planned and tracked. I saw a .2 loss on the scale this morning even though I had hotdogs last night. Thought for sure the sodium would 'get me'. Today will be a low sodium day ... just in case Pam hope you get to 'play in the dirt' today. Sue hope your weather is beautiful like ours so that you and DH can enjoy another picnic outdoors Judy praying for safe travels on your way back home. In a bit will leave for a hood walk with LuLa. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL weekend!! Both days were well into the 70's and sunny. We sat on the front porch for a while yesterday afternoon and chatted and watched the birds come to the feeder. Then DH went to Kroger for f/v and brought home a Subway sandwich for our supper. That was a welcome treat. But then, any meal I don't have to plan and cook is a 'good meal' <LOL> While he went shopping, I read on the patio in my anti-gravity chair.
I am enjoying my hair so much more!! Who would have thought a simple trim could perk me up so much?? I am making do with the body of it, but that overgrown fringe along the back was truly driving me crazy!
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe this morning. Glad you slept well. I did also and it was wonderful!
Pam ~ You have been very busy (as usual) and I love reading about your coming and going.
Judy ~ Hope you had a great weekend at the Cape. I can only hope you had weather as beautiful as ours.
I think I will head to Costco this morning. I had planned to shop at Meijer, but I need a couple of items that I buy at Costco and if they don't have them, then I will get them at Meijer. So I am thinking I will go to Costco first and see what they have. Everything I am getting there will be non-refrigerated so it can wait in the car. BTW, Costco finally published a notice that (I think beginning today) they are limiting meat (beef, pork, chicken) purchases to 3 per customer. We'll see ..... DH shopped at Kroger yesterday and people were NOT wearing masks and not following the directional arrows in the aisleways, so there seems to be resistance. I do not intend to make grocery shopping a political statement, so I will just go and do my thing.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all, and it is another beautiful day which sure lifts the spirits of the housebound! :-)
We had a very nice time at the Cape. It was nice to smell the salt air and watch boats go by and just relax. I did not tackle any big time house cleaning other than vacuuming and little things. I made some good meals on the grill - just burgers jazzed up and baked beans one night and a chicken dish another. Breakfasts were omelettes with spinach and tomatoes and a slice of nice thick bacon. If we are going to have any bacon, we splurge on the extra thick type. Worth it!
We took some nice walks with D&D and watched more of the Wire. DH had some "work" work to do on the computer yesterday so I read and relaxed. His energy is just not at all what it was even a year ago and we both worry about his heart condition and disease. What can you do? Not much. But, he did go to the dump and managed to haul an old fence into a pile to take away next time.
Did I tell you all that our DD received the SBA loan/grant? It was the big news of the weekend. She's so relieved. It must be used for certain purposes but will give her breathing room when things open up regarding her payroll for her two employees. It's a miracle! She also received her incentive money so that's good, but so far, no unemployment. We ordered a couple small gifts for her for Mother's Day. She needs a boost. I will tell Sophie (our DGD) that they are from her and her brother. Some perfume from a Nantucket Perfume shop that makes its own wonderful oils and some earrings from Etsy. She will love them. She loves the big floral dangly and colorful earrings. :-) I need to think about our DDIL in NJ too and send along something. I miss them all!!!
Pam, I love the Beanie Weenie dinner -especially the name. I am glad you could socialize with family. You're very blessed to be able to do that. :-) Your DH is quite the gardener with the beets and all the veggies. Yum.
Sue, great that your DH gave you a haircut. I offered to trim my DH's hair very tentatively, but not sure I could pull it off. Our DS trimmed his own hair and used clippers and scissors. I am going to pick up hair color this week when I go into the office briefly. My hairdresser lives near the college.
Ann, glad you got in walks with Lula. D&D do not like the heat one bit. Anything over about 60 is too much for them! lol They are pampered pooches for sure and sort of Prima Donnas! :-)
Busy work day and then we have a call with the attorney at noon for next steps. My stomach churns when I think of it.
I need to push the water today. I was up close to a # today but I attribute it to the carbs - too much bread- sadly. My mouth is watering when you and Pam talk about Italian food!

Hi All ~I am back home and everything is put away and I have had lunch (while watching the noon news).
My trip to Costco was surprisingly successful! I found everything I was looking for plus some others. They had my coffee and DH's Cheerios (which were my main two reasons for going) but I also bought a 3-pack of AmyLou Chicken/Apple/Gouda sausages (which we love) and a big pack of Arnold's sandwich thins. I replenished our ham lunch meat (Kirkland 99% FF) and 8 cans of tuna. My largest purchase was a bag of frozen salmon filets. We absolutely LOVE them, and I grill one at a time and we split it - usually over salad. I grabbed a rotisserie chicken while I was there, so he will be supper tonight. My 'treat' was a big box (28) of 100-cal packs of Skinny Pop. It was on sale for $8.99!Definitely a surprisingly successful trip!!
I brought those groceries home and put the few things in the freezer then went to Meijer. I wasn't able to get everything on my list, but I got what I needed. We now have whole grain buns for the chicken sausages along with Meijer coleslaw (which they have been out of). DH bought some at Kroger last week and then he commented that it wasn't nearly as good as Meijer's and he was right. I also brought home some corn-on-the-cob to have with it. All in all, I was pleased.
Judy ~ What great news that your DD got her loan AND her stimulus payment. We are still waiting for our stimulus check but the website says it was "scheduled to be mailed May 1st". We'll find out what that means? I think you getting away for the weekend was a great idea! Your meals sounded goodtoo.
Ann ~ Unfortunately we sent all the beautiful weather to you.We had a cold front move in overnight and it is 20 dg cooler today than yesterday! At least we still have sunshine.
Pam ~ Hope everything is good with you.
DH is working today and I spent the entire morning shopping and putting things away. I think I will head out for a walk and then read for a bit. That sunshine is just too nice to waste- even if I have to wear a jacket. I am so very much happier with my hair! Just having that mass of curls off my neck is a relief, and this morning I trimmed my sideburns and I have kept my bangs trimmed, so I'm not looking too shabby.

We decided to switch over the closets. Took LuLa for a walk, came home and started immediately. We both worked our tails off. Still in the process of washing the last load. Some of the clothes I dry, others are hung in the shower stalls Nobody will see the but us. Hung up different drapes and curtains and changed bed spreads. It was a job WELL done and happy that it's all behind us. Sue sounds like you scored bit time at Costco! Bet it felt good to go and pick up all you needed and then some. I love Subway, and like you, ANY MEAL that we don't have to cook or clean up after is a GOOD meal in my books I also love the fact that Subway fits so well into the points arena LOL. Glad you got to sit on the patio and enjoy. Yesterday was much nicer than today. I did have the slider opened to the screen room while working, but quickly closed it when the wind picked up. We do still have sunshine but the clouds are also moving in. Oh well...... Judy so happy that you DH and D&D got to relax read walk and smell that fresh salt air All good things...especially now. Nice that you didn't spent the time there cleaning. Hip Hip HURRAY that DD got her grant That is music to my ears, Judy. Oh and I just LOVE The gifts that you picked out for her. I'm sure she will also. So thoughtful .... Judy I know the feeling of carb overload. With me it's either that or sodium bomb. Two days in a row I had high sodium and my weight spiked up one day and down .2 this morning......still in my happy zone...just inching upward. LOL to D&D....I'll add LuLa to the mix as she doesn't do well in the heat either. Well, time for me to enjoy a cup of coffee and hang the last of the laundry. I just heard the washer buzz..... Waving to Pam and will try to CBL.

Ann ~ I totally agree with the great feeling of 'changing the seasons' in our homes. I was looking at my windows this weekend, and thinking I should change the toppers to my "summer" ones. That will happen one day this week. Yesterday I did all of our laundry, so I am ahead of the game. I think I've done enough today with all the shopping.
I got my first walk done and DH called right before I was back at our driveway. He was home - and he had made a big deposit in our bank account from the job he did ..... and when he retrieved the mail our stimulus check was in there!! Talk about a great day!! I had received a check in the mail for my refund from Red Hat Ladies in Frankenmuth (MI) and now have two to deposit tomorrow. I think I will wait until tomorrow to pay bills as I think I've done enough for today.
BBL.

Sue enjoy that wonderful windfall So happy and I agree...ENOUGH for today. Me as well. I am on my last and final load of drying laundry...took miss LuLa for 2 walks and I won't go again until tomorrow. My back is sore and I need to rest. The chicken is in the new wave oven I have left over rice and going to have french cut green beans as a veggie. We will eat indoors tonight as it's quite cool out there. The wind is on and off as well as our sunshine. I must say...it all looks pretty festive in here...or as festive as it gets. I'm still hunting for the summer wreath that I put on the front door......I must have overlooked it. Until tomorrow.....................

Good afternoon friends, Laundry day has been interrupted with technical issues. Last week's little bit of water that leaked from the washer has grown to 3 inches in a mop bucket. This washer is so old, I can't even find the book for it and I am meticulous about keeping all the papers that come with appliances. Luckily, we had DD3's old washer stashed in the outdoor kitchen and I cleaned it up for DH to install. We managed to get the old one out and hauled to the street to be picked up by white goods garbage, if a picker doesn't grab it first. It was quite a workout for these two old folks as our house is 60 ft. from the road, but we managed. I mopped up all the water and put a fan drying the floor before we moved the other one in. It's been sitting for 7 years, so I wasn't terribly surprised when it went through the wash cycle and then quit. NOT HAPPY, but not surprised. I put the clothes in the kitchen sink to rinse and then bailed out all the soapy water before calling our local furniture and appliance store to have a new one delivered and installed. When they told me it would be Wednesday before it could be delivered, I could have cried. I told the sales woman, whom I know slightly as a friend of a friend and have dealt with before, all the troubles of the day. She said she would squeeze me in for a delivery tomorrow and found me a washer similar to the one I wanted, that was out of stock. It's a little bit larger and a little bit more expensive, but at this point I am not quibbling. Now, I'm going to go out and play in the dirt as my reward for a stressful, and as yet unfinished, laundry day.
