Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Landscaping guy took care of the lawn this morning. I had my screen door open to let fresh air in, he stopped by to chat a bit. He wanted to let me know that he will get around to mulching my garden as soon as he is able to. Apparently they can cut lawns, but nothing else until at least the 15th. We are both worried that they will extend our stay at home another 2 weeks.
I really don’t have a large freezer, but since I live alone and only have to cook for myself, a family pack lasts a long time. I bought pork chops, there were 8 of them so that means 16 dinners (they are huge). Same with chicken, and ground beef family pack is 5 pounds (I made lots of burgers and froze them). And a couple of other beef items for stew, or steak dinners. DB told me to shop wisely when this all started, I took his advice. I do have an Instacart order coming tomorrow, mostly fruits and veggies and some snack foods (probably shouldn’t have got those). After that I’ll start venturing to the grocery store when I need things. For now, my menu plans are coming from my freezer, I’ll use up the frozen veggies too.
Temps are going to be more March-like for the next week or so. Good for walking, and I’ll still let the fresh air in.
Ruth - hope your back feels better soon. I’ve been sitting way to much in the evenings and stretch before I go to bed. I think it helps me sleep better.
Dottie - I’m sure you’ll be busy getting your house in order and stocking up on things.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, it does sound like you have shopped very wisely. I am still trying to build up an inventory of the things we use a lot. Hopefully the landscaper will be able to take care of the garden soon. Outside work can be done here both cutting the lawns and other landscaping projects. Yesterday was nice weather, today is cooler and then in the 30s at night and 50s during the day for the rest of the week. Hopefully it will be sunny out.
Ruth, the people who live down the street from us are more neighbors than friends. Their oldest DD and DS#2 went to school together. They are still friends, he does things with her and her husband at times. They do family camping and DS#2 goes along sometimes. DS#2 picked us up from the airport but we didn’t really visit. He is busy with the end of the school year projects. Also as with all schools/colleges they don’t know how to plan for the fall semester. He has been in on some meetings but says that nothing is accomplished at the end of the meeting. That is typically the way but very frustrating. We pay a deposit on all cans/bottles so we have to return them. Right now the can return places aren’t open so the stores have signs on the machines that the state has suggested we recycle now till the crisis is over. The trouble with that is they are still charging a deposit on cans and then the state gets to keep the money if we recycle instead of returning the cans for our deposit money.
I went to an orthopedic walk in urgent care this morning. The good news is that I didn’t tear anything in my knee. The bad news it is arthritis. At times I have had some very mild pain in the right knee but nothing that stopped me from doing things or taking meds. I will be going to PT for 6 weeks to see if that will help by strengthening my muscles in the upper leg. I hope the place where Bill went is open because they were great. I need to get some L done and more things put away.

Good evening all. Didn’t realize I hadn’t been on before.
Joy, so nice your lawn service was there. The landscapers can work here in MN too. Not just mowing, but putting down mulch, planting flowers, doing new retaining walls, building decks, etc. Just no close contact to the homeowner. Social distancing. I should contact the gal who did all the work for us last fall and see if she’s interested in doing some mulching and maybe some planting of annuals. Get on it before fall this time!!!
You did a great time of stocking up on things. I have a few things in the bottom of the freezer that I need to pull out and see what they actually are. Not good!!! Would make more room to get rid of whatever some of it is! Bet your brother was happy to hear you had taken his advice and were in good shape because of it.
Dottie, they had me do leg strengthening exercises for my knee for a couple months before I had it replaced. And I can tell I need to be doing them on my left knee now. I wonder if yours will be similar? It’s great news tho that you didn’t tear anything!!! Not that arthritis is anything to celebrate, but at least it’s not a tear. Stan needs to go in and see about his knee, but they aren’t doing those kind of appts here in MN yet. When they open up he will probably go in. Although he’s been using a brace and taking Advil before he goes an not having pain when he’s done running. Hopefully you can continue to walk and get your exercise in.
I was just curious about the neighbors. If they were good friends and that was why you went to the same place in FL or what. I think all schools are just in a holding pattern to figure out fall semester. From pre-schools to colleges. A very sad situation we are in!
My back was some better today, but doing much of anything and it hurts. It’s my way lower back. And I’m tired of being winded all the time. But I think anytime I’m over 200 my body just reacts badly! So I need to work at getting down again!
I got the 5’s all photographed today and ready to list. And combined some other ads and I delivered something that sold a few days ago and then have a gal coming tomorrow for some other baby stuff. And I wanted a sandbox and toddler slide for Mara at her house. I put up an ISO (in search of) of some of the sites. Right after that, the gal who is in charge of the one baby site I help with texted me. Her mom’s next door neighbor had a nice sandbox they were giving away. Her mom pulled in over into her driveway and we ran up and got it right away. Then a gal texted me that she had a small slide just sitting in her storage shed and would take $5 and she’d bring it to me. So she did, it’s great and it was $5. So I got both things for $5 and a little gas. We’ll buy sand and I’ll pull out some of the sand box toys we have (we have a lot) and take them to her tomorrow! She needs them at her house even when she comes here occasionally and goes to pre-school.
And I finally convinced DH to get back on his ham radio. He was down there tonight doing some reorganizing and figuring the whole thing again. He hasn’t been on in a couple years. This will be the first time with his hearing aids tho. Will be interesting and I’m looking forward to him spending more time down there.
Ok, off to bed after the news. Have a good night. More tomorrow!
