Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
I think this is going to be one of the last nice days for a while. Rain in the forecast for tomorrow, wet snow for the weekend. Really! It’s May! I was hoping to get to the cemetery to put artificial flowers at my parents gravesite but I think that will wait for a while.
I’m not sure how my work at home is really going. I’ve only received work twice, not what I expected. I guess I’ll know better when I see if I actually got paid for my usual hours. I’m thinking I might start working my Saturday shift in a couple of weeks, we’ll see. I am actually looking forward to going back to the office. The sales staff is taking people by appointment, I’ve seen some pics of them showing cars.
I did take before pics of my basement, looking forward to taking after pics next month. I’ll share when I do. The 2nd shelving unit did fit in the area I planned. Yay! So that one is now in place too. I’ll start putting the totes on the shelves, take out everything that is empty and see what I actually have left to do. Since the weather is going to be icky this weekend I’ll spend most of the time working there. I know there are lots of half filled paint cans in the corner. I’ll start moving them into the garage. DB said to open the cans, put in kitty litter to absorb the paint, toss the kitty litter, let the inside of the cans dry out, then toss the cans. That’s a summer project, getting the cans out of the basement is step one.
Dottie - I hope the PT helps ease the pain in your knee.
Ruth - I’m looking forward to getting my hair cut too. I’m letting my bangs grow, hoping to try a new style. The back is getting too long and is starting to annoy me. I won’t worry too much about going to the salon. It’s only a two seat operation and I am usually the only one there when getting my hair done.
Pancakes for breakfast today. I enjoy them every once in a while.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, you are doing so good. Bill has a 4 shelf old bookcase filled with paint/stain cans in the basement. They are marked as far as where he used them but after a while they aren’t very good. He is repainting his office/grandsons bedroom and when he opened the can the paint was mostly dried up. I wish he would just get rid of a lot of the cans. There is an annual event where you can dispose of those items safely and we took about 15 cans/containers over at that time several years ago. It is time again.
Ruth, the PA didn’t mention knee replacement but did say that if the PT doesn’t help me there are further options. I imagine that would be knee replacement eventually. Did you get all of your running around finished yesterday?
Bill is working on a project in his office/grandsons bedroom. There was wall to wall carpeting in the room, he is removing that and plans to refinish the hardwood floors in there. He started this on Saturday and wants it finished in a week. I know that won’t happen. I keep telling him that there is no time frame for getting this done. He repainted the walls, same color as before, just freshened up everything. Had to go get new paint. It will look nice but I wish he wouldn’t push himself so much, no one will be here for weeks, so there is no rush. The latest I heard we aren’t opening up till May 30th. In fact the governor just officially closed schools yesterday. Apparently the school boards were pushing him to do that because the teachers need to know how to plan for the rest of the year.
