Happy hump day all. Woke up to sunshine and cooler temps. It's 34 here now and we are supposed to get a shower or two later in the day. Will work around that. Slept pretty well for which I'm grateful!
Pam so happy you got to play in the 'dirt'. Praying that all will be well with the new washer. Good grief on no instruction booklet! Smart thinking to go online and download your own copy.
Thanks for the information on the vanilla water spray. I don't have vanilla essential oil and was wondering if pure vanilla extract in water would do the trick?
Will try to connect with my friend Diane from Canada today. We've been playing 'telephone tag' for a day or so.
Wishing all a wonderful OP day. I feel into chips and dip earlier and ended the night with hot buttered popcorn! Not good...and will NOT repeat that tonight

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day! I slept very well last night and woke refreshed this morning. For that I am very grateful.
I did my WW monthly WI this morning and was down 1.5# which was good. I would have liked for it to be more, but isn't that always the way?? At least I am moving in the right direction, and am the lowest weight that I've been in almost two years. What's not to love about that?
Pam ~ I am so glad that you got your new washer; BUT why no instruction booklet?? Like you, I save my instructions for everything. I recently cleaned out a drawer and threw away instructions on things we no longer have. But with the new-fangled appliances, I don’t know how they intended for you to learn all the settings without the instructions?? Glad you found it and printed it.
Ann ~ I finished my Medieval Romance book night before last and then opted for a light, fluffy story about a gal who goes to summer at the shore. I started it yesterday and it is going to fit the bill quite nicely. I like the variety that BookBub offers me, and I always have a few unread ones in my library.
Judy ~ Hope your work day goes well!
I have had my Yogurt & Berries breakfast and am on my way to getting ready for the day. I don't have much on my schedule today. I want to walk, and I need to hard-boil some eggs. We are having grilled tilapia tonight with the leftover Bob Evans mac 'n cheese and coleslaw. I finally found our favorite coleslaw at Meijer and picked up a small carton. I also noticed a recipe for chicken fried rice on my tablet this morning, and since we have leftover rotisserie chicken for tomorrow night, and I have all the other ingredients, I think that will be tomorrow's supper. I love when the planning is all done. The tuna and rice supper has been pushed back for almost a week, so perhaps Friday?? Otherwise, pizza and salad, while the salad makings are still fresh. Waste not, want not, doncha know??
Has anyone noticed a shortage of meat?? I didn't when I shopped Monday but will check again when I go next Monday. I think it will become like toilet paper - whenever one of us saw 'some' we picked up one pack for our stash. We'll start doing that with meat. We still have quite a bit in our freezer.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hey all and happy sunny Wednesday so far. I woke up really early and not sure why because I went to bed on the late-ish side. I'll be tired today so plan on a catnap after lunch. The luxuries of being home are many!
I went into work do some scanning of things that are just faster on the big machines. One of my colleagues was working in her office as she is assisting with the endowment so has a lot to do that she cannot do at home. We social distanced visited and it was SO good to see her face. She's been a good friend for 12 years and will be retiring for good soon. She is only working 2 days a week now to help out. Otherwise it was a total ghost town on campus and felt very weird. There are several students still living on campus - international and ones who could not travel home. Poor kids. The dining hall has been offering meals to go for them. They must be going crazy.
I loved reading all your catch up tales. Ann, I am also into cozy books right now. Not sure why but I think we all need an escape and my usual heavier themed novels and books weren't cutting it. I'm liking this Barbara Freethy book which is a very light one sort of like Nora Roberts-even lighter, I think! Sue, have you read the Ellen Hillerbrand beach books about Nantucket? They seem to be popular.
Ann, you are smart to step away from the pipes! Let them duke it out with the company. Too much stress! Enjoy your new book and the weather while it lasts! I am sure you are out there walking a lot.
Pam, I know what you mean about the new machines. We can't just turn the knobs to on and off anymore with so many options. I am the only one who is using our new dishwasher proficiently. LOL Everytime DH turns it on, it goes into a cancel cycle and seems to get stuck. I am not sure what he is doing. So, I am in charge of that feature. Ha! He loads it though. I get the easy part. My DD had a similar issue to you yesterday. Her fridge started leaking and then flooding. It was being replaced or repaired yesterday. Always something! Oh, my DH would never let me touch his hair and I wouldn't let him. I shudder to think - I would wind up with a buzz cut! LOL
I did wind up visiting my hairdresser friend at her new house yesterday - from the window!! She gave me my hair color to mix at home and I gave her some mother's day goodies including a Target gift card and a small gift for her 3 year old and diapers for the baby. Good to see them through the window. They live in a recently rehabbed 200 year old farmhouse on lots of property way up on a hill overlooking a pond so it's very scenic. New grass is being planted around the house which just underwent a huge renovation. They are renting the bottom floor of a very large home. Anyhow, I took my hair color home, went back to work, fixed dinner (Cinco de Mayo Mexican theme) and took my uke lesson. About 9:30 she texted to ask me how my hair came out as she had sent me a how-to video. I hadn't done it and she urged me to do it since the color was poured but not mixed. So, at 9:45 I was coloring the roots. They came out great!! I feel like a new person. I really just did roots and around my face. Kept my highlights. What a difference to "wash that gray right outta my head." (Remember that one?)
We did have a good call with the lawyer yesterday and sadly, she told us to buckle up because it is going to get ugly. Well, it has been ugly so I was expecting this. MOre later.
Well, I am getting wordy once again so I had better close. I had an egg, slice of thick bacon and light ww english muffin for breakfast. Thomas's were buy one get one yesterday.
Back to work!

Back again. The chips dip and popcorn added 2#'s to me. Oh well....both S&S (stess and sodium) did me in. Today WILL be better. The sun is shining and pretty soon we'll be out taking a hood walk as we pick up the mail. Sue congrats on your fantastic weight loss. You worked for it and it paid off nicely. I especially loved the way you turned the wishing it was MORE to being satisfied and being lower than you have been on the scale. A win win in my books Happy you enjoyed your book. I also have a few book bubs and kindle unlimited and a few of the freebie ones Amazon primes offers monthly. That and the library keep me going. I don't remember the last time I bought a book. I 'think' it was one of the James Patterson Woman Club, but not sure. Most definitely lighter is better in books. I have a lot of mysteries downloaded and a few horror-ish ones that I will save for another time. Which Barbara book are you reading? I agree...she is lighter than Nora. Judy that's what I LOVE about retirement the most...the fact that I can relax once all my planned chores are done....and if I get a nap in there, I'm happiest It did take awhile to slow down from working, but then again it will be 13 years this coming June (on my bday) that I've been retired! Your breakfast sounds good. I usually have FF Greek yogurt with frozen blueberries a sprinkle of fiber one original cereal a dash of cinnamon and a squirt of lemon juice as a snack after lunch. That holds me nicely till supper. Breakfast was Joseph's Lavash rollup up with lettuce lite string cheese hummus and roasted red peppers. Not sure about lunch and supper will be chicken tenders with rice and a veggie. Normally for lunch I have a salad with whatever protein I have laying around and a cup of veggie soup. Carl won't let me near him with any sharp instrument. He's seen me in 'action' trying to cut meat, veggies and such LOL....He likes LONGER HAIR so asking him to lop it off isn't an option! Sheesh. I look like the gal with the deranged afro. Oh well...small potatoes I guess I try to 'tame it down'...sometimes it works and other times it does its own thing. So happy that you got to see your hairdresser from afar, drop off goodies and pick up your color. Awesome that you did a good job and are happy with it. LOL yes I do remember that jingle Your breakfast sounds good. Time to get a move on. I've also been quite wordy this a.m. Must be something in the air LOL. Later

Back from our first walk of the day. Made it in record time as not many people were 'out and about'. Perfect for walking..no wind or rain and the sun busy going in and out. Heating up my soup for lunch. Decided on that and a piece of Joseph's pita bread heated in the toaster oven with roasted garlic powder black pepper and spray butter Later!

Well, the guys are currently installing my 3rd washer in as many days. Once I got to looking closely, I found the reason there was no owner's manual or warranty was because the washer delivered yesterday was USED. I was SO p*ssed!!! There was a dent on the front, softener residue in the dispenser and the housing over the console wouldn't stay in place once I removed the packing tape the delivery guys had left on. I never could get the towel & sheet cycle to run, but after several tries, got the towels washed on normal cycle. I had trouble sleeping between being mad and stressed at having to go to the store this morning. It all worked out, though. The saleswoman I had dealt with was busy with another customer, so one of the owners helped me. The one I wanted would have to be ordered and not delivered until July 10, so I went with my second choice. It was on sale, so I ended up with a $56 refund. Hopefully, this is the end of this long, frustrating story!
DH, probably trying to make me feel better and not be so grouchy, cooked us a big breakfast of biscuits, bacon, eggs and grits. I'm thinking that will hold me, with a small snack of yogurt and fruit, until dinner. We are having salads made with fajita-seasoned chicken and homemade guacamole.
It is beautiful and sunny with a nice breeze, so I'm planning to get my walk in early. I missed out yesterday with all the washer commotion. Then I will continue playing with plants for a while.
DH is off helping with a jambalaya dinner for all the medical personnel and first responders. He loves hanging out with the guys and promised to keep his distance and wear a mask.
I am a big fan of Elin Hilderbrand's Nantucket stories! Currently, I am reading Between Sisters by Kristen Hannah and listening to The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen, a very light-hearted and quirky story.
Ann - I only use vanilla extract, no essential oil for the gnat spray. It's hard to believe I'm approaching 9 years retired. Time flies when you're having fun, right?
Judy - My new Whirlpool washer actually seems pretty easy to operate. I have the sheets going now.
Sue - Right now, I'd give my left hind leg for a 1.5 loss. Congrats! Our local stores have announced they will limit meat to 3 per customer. As militant as some customers have been, I'm wondering how closely they will monitor and enforce the rule. Anyway, it worries DH enough that he wants to order more meat, even though our freezer is getting to be quite packed.
Enjoy the remainder of your day!

Om my, Pam. What an ordeal to just get a washing machine delivered and installed! So sorry that you had to go through all of that. At least the $56.00 refund helped sweeten the pot. Praying that is the end of all that. That is nice that DH is off helping first responders and medical personnel. I'm sure he will keep his distance as will the others. I had to LOL at stocking up on meat! Carl also wants to go once again to get more for the freezer. I told him 'good luck finding a spot'....after he checked it out, he agreed to NOT buy anything else! Sheesh........ LOL to time flying....I still can't believe I've been retired all those years. I finally got to talk to my dear friend in Canada. We've been playing telephone tag for a few days now. After that, I sat and read a bit and fell asleep. Both the nap and the conversation lifted my spirits Need to get ready now to take miss LuLa for her last walk of the day. It looks pretty cloudy out there. Hopefully we'll make it before it rains. Enjoy the rest of your evening......Between Sisters sounds very familiar. I believe I read that one.
