Good morning friends. Slept pretty well even though I took a longer than normal nap. It's all good. We never did get the rain unless it rained while sleeping and didn't wake me.
Today will be more of the same. Nothing we need, so will just park it at home with our regular hood walks. Leaning toward beef tonight with potato and veggie.
Wishing all a pleasant Thursday. Will also try to attend my virtual meeting. Seems like I'm always busy doing something at 5:00 p.m.
Later.............

Good morning! I slept very well after a short, stressful night on Tuesday. By the time I was up, DH had already left to pick up the Walmart order. They had everything we wanted except my yogurt. I still have a few containers left, so will try at Super 1 later. I got my walk in yesterday, but by the hardest. First, my neighbor, who lost his wife just as all this began, flagged me down to thank me for my hospice visits. I apologized for being unable to attend her funeral and for not being able to make bereavement visits. He is still struggling in his mind with decisions that were made about her care and I tried to give him comfort. I told him I will stop by on my walks occasionally so we can visit in the driveway. I walked on and only had a few minutes to go as I came up my street. I got flagged down by a dear friend and former co-worker who was visiting her daughter, my next-door neighbor. I had not seen her in exactly a year and the picture we took at our last lunch date had come up in my fb memories yesterday. We chatted a bit and I pretty much gave up the rest of my walk. I sat on the swing a bit and phoned my sister to catch up with her. She laughed at my washer saga and commiserated about the new-fangled washers we must now endure. DH and I also spoke with DD2 last evening. She is planning a visit with her VBF on Saturday. This afternoon, she will come out and go through the drive-thru at our favorite local restaurant and bring us dinner for an outdoor meal and visit. DH will send her home with veggies and canned goods for both her and VBF, who is like a another daughter to us. One of the gifts will be pickled okra and pickled green beans for the bloody marys they plan to enjoy. It will be great to see her face-to-face and we will see her again on Sunday. My dinner will be grilled shrimp and veggies, my favorite Hottails dinner. Lunch will be homemade gazpacho and a small chef salad. DH is making sausage biscuits for our breakfast. Here's the newsclip from yesterday's meal for health professionals and first responders: www.wbrz.com/news/health-care-workers-in-pointe-coupee-parish-recognized-with-free-meals. If you watch closely, you will see DH from the back, in a red tshirt and orange Denver Broncos cap. The first man speaking is Rev. Richard, a local Baptist pastor and member of the Cultural District Board. He worked with my dad at the Corps of Engineers and we have gotten to be friends. Our newly-elected sheriff is in the blue shirt and is a local, homegrown boy and finally, the mayor, my neighbor and fellow choir member who forgot how to say COVID-19. Make yourself a great day!

Pam I guess it just wasn't in the cards for you to walk. You were needed elsewhere and God saw that you did what you were supposed to do. Thank for the link. You know how much I love your links dinner sounds delish. Well, happy to say that LuLa won. She came over to me as I was in the sectional reading and put her had on my knee and looked up at me with those big brown Boston Terrier eyes! She knew she had me just where she wanted me. I saddled her and Carl up and off we went. We walked but wasn't a good relaxing walk. One guy that lives here that things he RUNS THE ENTIRE SHOW was off talking VERY loudly where we get the mail. I proceeded to get the mail and leave quickly. He's a legend in his own mind!!!!! Hopefully he will be 'resting' when we go out again. Carl is off doing more yard work. Me? I'm going to finish my water and start my day. Have a few chores to get done. I was happy to have finally connected with my friend in Canada yesterday. We had a wonderful chat!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday!! Today has just flown by for me. I made Egg McMuffins for breakfast with a fresh fruit bowl. Then I did some of this 'n that around here. I finally got out for a walk in the beautiful sunshine!! It was 60 dg and very refreshing. We have a cold front coming in shortly which will possibly derail my future plans.
I drank a Premier Protein shake for lunch. I recently read a recipe for chicken fried rice, so I gathered my ingredients this morning to try it tonight. I was in need of green onions, and DH offered to bring them home when he came back from his errands. When I weighed the chicken (from the rotisserie chicken I bought at Costco), there was enough left for one more supper. So we will have gotten three meals out of that chicken!
I started watching past episodes of "Council Of Dads" on On Demand and when DH came home, he joined. I had previously watched the first episode and knew I liked it - but he caught up. Then we watched the second episode and declared it a "keeper". I believe it is on tonight.
DH brought home a rack of baby back ribs from Kroger. Not only were they there, they were on sale! He has cut them up so that they fit in my Instant Pot and we will cook them in there on Sunday and then BBQ and brown them in the oven. I have a recipe handy so it will be easy. He also brought home some mangoes and avocados, so I plan to make Bulgur, Mango & Avocado salad to eat with the ribs. I had recently mentioned that I needed to look up my file on "Summer Salads" to refresh my memory, which I did.
Pam ~Thanks for the link. I enjoyed it very much.
Ann ~ Sorry about the loud mouth who ruined your walk. We have those here too. I think we have those everywhere!!
Judy ~ Hope your day is going well.
Our Governor is going to give us an update in a few minutes, then after that I will go out for my second (double) walk of the day. When I get back I will tackle making Chicken Fried Rice. I love trying new things. I never wanted to cook ribs because I just hate the thought of boiling them in water, but now that I have the Instant Pot I see baby back ribs in our future this summer. And we both LOVE them!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue yup the loud mouths are everywhere....why can't they just live in ONE location??? That way we could all be safe Just sayin' We took another walk and it was quite enjoyable. Talked to a few like minded people which made it nice. Your meals sound awesome. I wish I liked avocado...it's healthy, I'm just not a fan. I do love baby back ribs Carl makes them on the grille all the time. They are tasty. Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a wig!!!! Not sure how it's going to work out, but it's returnable via amazon and the drop off is just down the street from us so a win win there. Will keep ya posted. Happy you found another program that is holding your interest. Will try to pop in later.

Ann & Judy - I saw on the weather that you are anticipating snow by the weekend! That seems unbelievable as I sit here with windows open.
Sue - The mango-avocado-bulgar salad sounds interesting. I can't recall ever eating bulgar, so have no idea where to buy or how to cook it.
I took my walk early this morning and it was very breezy and cool. I would have enjoyed it more, but decided to return a call to my hospice supervisor. She very sadly told me her DH is not doing well and is currently hospitalized in a psych ward. Early diagnosis is a mild stroke. She told me he has been very depressed since his first stroke a year or so ago severely limited his activities. Then, they lost their dog of 15 years. It has been downhill from there and for some reason, he is extremely angry and abusive towards her, to the point their children do not think she can safely stay in the home with him. She is heartbroken as they have had a long, loving marriage prior to this. I hope the doctors can get him back on track soon.
After my walk, I played with my potted plants some, re-potting, trimming, etc. Now I'm going to sanitize the guest bathroom in case DD2 needs it during her visit and then I will shower. I'm hoping the lawn service shows up today and gets the lawn cut before DD shows up.

Pam so very sorry about your friend's DH. Will keep all involved in my thoughts and prayers. Praying he gets the help that he needs. I can't even imagine what she is going through.....so sad. Had your lawn service shown up? I hope they get it done before DD comes. Nice that you got in a walk and got your plants re-potted. Yup, that's all people here are yapping about...the snow. Me? I'd rather snow than rain. That being said we really don't need it in May!!!!! We just got back from another pleasant walk. I'll go in the screen room later to see if I can see the full moon Sweet dreams all.
