Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Itās nice and sunny this morning, rain due this afternoon so Iāll get my walk in this morning. I charged my Fitbit yesterday morning, went to check how many steps I walked and noticed the battery was drained. Recharged it and Iāll check it often today. I hope it was just something unusual. I tried a newer model and returned it because it caused a rash on my wrist. They did just update the Charge HR to version 4, but I hope my 2 is still going to work ok. The faces on some of the different models are so big, I like the look of mine.
I took chicken out of the freezer last night so it would thaw in the fridge. Iāll cut and bake both pieces, one in buffalo wing sauce and the other plain. Iāll have a nice salad topped with the plain chicken tonight, buffalo chicken with oven baked potatoes tomorrow. My WW shipment arrived yesterday, I now have crisps to enjoy in the evening. I decided to buy them so I had something less pointy to snack on.
One of the hospital systems got the green light to start performing elective surgeries. That is good news.
I looked at all of the paint cans, I probably never got rid of any since Iāve lived here š. I took about 10 cans to the garage and i have more than 10 more. When I got a little water in the basement I used to just let it dry in that corner, the bottom of the remaining cans are all rusted. That floor underneath is going to look awful. Iāll eventually talk to someone at Home Depot to see what they recommend to clean the floor, itās tiled floor.
Today Iāll continue to box the books that I recently discovered. Those will stay in the basement until libraries open up, but they will be boxed and off the floor, ready to go. I still have the sorted bins (kitchen, office, misc) that Iāll eventually need to find homes for, but Iām getting closer and closer to my āendā. Then Iāll have painting cabinets, sweeping and washing floor, and painting entrance to basement stairwell to finalize that project. After that is done, Iāll be looking at estimates for the electrical work that needs to be done and eventually having a sump pump installed. Gotta keep focused - I will feel so much better when my basement is in decent shape, not the hoarder mess it was.
Dottie - did you start the PT for your knee? Iām curious as to what type of exercises they are going to give you.
Waving hi to Ruth.
Enjoy your day

Good morning all. Sorry I didnāt get here yesterday. I think I checked in early, got dressed and went out for a walk while Stan/Maggie were running; then didnāt get back. I got in a 2 mile walk and ended up with 8900 steps yesterday. Most by far lately. Stan ended the day with 17,500! šš. A friend called him an over-achiever! He said the run felt so good (w/o the heart meds in his system) that he just kept going. I was really nervous when I came home from my walk and discovered they werenāt here because I left a long time after they did because I wasnāt dressed or anything and had that to do before I could walk. I had just grabbed my keys and was heading out to find him (because he had responded to my text) when I saw him coming down the street. MEN!!!!
Joy, Iām thinking of switching my Fitbit Versa for the new Charge 4. The Versa has the huge clock face and Iām not a huge fan of it. Bands are so hard to change and occasionally I canāt get it to update. The Charge 4 has the smaller rectangular size and looks more feminine. And does most of the same things. That may be my Motherās Day present.
They just opened up the elective surgeries here also. I think next Monday. I know there is a backlog of them just waiting to happen.
Funny both of you were talking about old paint cans. We got rid of a bunch a few years ago at our cityās clean up day. But we seem to have a bunch of paint for the front porch that has sat down there for quite a while. We need to actually use it or get rid of it. And the new paint that was used 2 years ago needs moved out of the radio room and into the storage area.
Interested in hearing about Dottieās PT also.
Yesterday we ran the sand box and all that other stuff over to DSās house. Mara apparently heard them say that we were there and she told her daddy she needed Grandma. So he FaceTimed us (we were in the car) and we got to see her. She said Hi Grandma and then pulled the phone up close to her face so she could see me and papa when I moved the phone on him driving. She wasnāt real talkative, just seemed happy to look. And it was nap time, so weāll do it again one of these days. But it was so nice to see her sweet face. And to know she misses us too. One of these days a decision will have to be made if we are taking her back occasionally and she should be enrolled in nursery school / daycare to be around kids and other people. She needs to learn to share and take direction from others too.
We stopped at Target and picked up a few needed items and Sudafed. Stan and I alternate buying it for me. I take 2 pills twice a day for my allergies and you can only buy 96 tablets once a month! So we alternate. It was his turn. He was going to Trader Joeās next door, but there was a long line to get in, one at a time! So he decided not to wait. The only other place weāve seen a line was Aldiās.
Ok, I need to get moving and get some real housework done and get some more work downstairs. And maybe try to get in a walk because our weather is turning bad starting tonight. We have a possibility of that nasty āSā word in our forecast too Joy!!! ICK!!!! Supposed to be cold and rainy (or whatever) thru the weekend. Iām just ready for spring / summer!!!
have a great day all and Iāll bbl to check in!

Joyce, you are getting so organized. It started off nice and sunny here also but now it is getting cloudy. I think it is good to have some low point snacks available. We are still doing more snacking than before this all started.
Ruth, sounds like you had a busy day yesterday. Do you take that much Sudafed year around or just during allergy season? When Iām having problems I will take one Sudafed, Bill will sometimes take two at a time. It really does help but the process to get it can be frustrating. Iām sure Mara remembers you and misses you and Stan. We didnāt want our DS and DDIL to let the kids know we were coming on Sunday because they would have wanted to come out to see us. DGSs understand but not DGD. That is a good amount of steps to get in.
PT went fine yesterday. I had the same therapist that Bill had when he did his PT. The guy remembered Bill. Yesterday was mainly an evaluation. He asked lots of questions and became concerned when I told him that my legs were different lengths. My hips are different which is why my legs are different lengths. When I wear certain pants it is real noticeable that one is higher than the other. He measured my legs, one is 3/8ā shorter than the other. I am having problems with my right knee but it is the left leg that is shorter. I told him that I wear out the soles on my left shoes much quicker than the right shoes. He said that that should be addressed but now wanted to concentrate on relieving some of the pain. Besides the evaluation, he did an ultrasound treatment (that felt so good) and then went thru some very gentle stretches. He gave me a sheet with 6 stretches to do twice a day. They take about 10 minutes. He said he would be adding more as we went along. Both the therapist and PA that I saw at the walk in clinic commented on how much fluid is on my knee. That is one of the reasons Iām in so much pain. I go back tomorrow morning for my next visit. He thinks twice a week for 6 to 8 weeks will be necessary. Fortunately the place is less than 2 miles from the house and easy to get in and out of. So far no elective surgeries allowed here. Bill has a phone conference with his GI doctor next week.

There are shortages here. Also the stores do not make sure the carts are wiped down before the customer takes it from the rack and today Samās didnāt even have any wipes to use. I carry a few wipes in a baggie and my hand gel with me. There was no TP in Sams and meat was limited to 1 package per type of meat. I buy mostly frozen chichen so that isnāt a problem. I stopped by 2 other stores to get a few things I couldnāt get at Samās, mainly diced tomatoes and Crystal Lite DeCaf instant tea. I did get a few cans of the diced tomatoes (plenty of crushed and stewed but we really prefer the diced). No Crystal lite or generic instant tea in either store. We wonāt starve but it is different not being able to find what we want.

Good Afternoon: I was just in the office using the desktop to pay a few upcoming bills and trying to search out a few CD's to purchase. Barnes and Noble nearest me is temporarily closed. I thought I could ordered and pick up at the curb. I'd have to drive almost 20 miles to go to one that has that option or I can order and p/u on Tuesday at my Walmarts. Right now I'm into moody music, which Ruth will probably tell you isn't helping my mood/attitude. It is what it is.
I haven't made much headway on decluttering but I haven't been adding to the clutter and all but 2 rooms can be presentable if given a 15-20 minute notice! LOL The mowing has started and I'd like to go every 10-14 days between that task but all the rain and warmth has made the stuff grow quickly.
Joyce - sounds like you continue to make progress. Way to Go. Dottie - sorry to hear that your knee is giving you fits. I hope that PT helps. I'm sure the weather right now isn't helping a lot.
Did I hear that New England may be in for a big weekend snowstorm??
Ruth -I'll "see" you on the FB group.
Off to the CU's drive thru, I was out yesterday and spent most of my cash and would like to avoid Friday or Saturday banking. Stay well.
