FRIDAY FITNESS... Good morning Ladies - WHAT can YOU DO TODAY to work on FRIDAY FITNESS???
I will eat OP... TRACK... DRINK WATER... and MOVE! Yesterday was a pretty good day - not a lot of steps, but 5 out of 10 hours of moving, and then more after 5 PM! I went and got pellets - who knows how long THIS cold snap will hang on! Anyway - I loaded them into the car and Ken & I unloaded them when I got home... so even though the steps didn't "add up quickly" I did get more moving in my day!!
I felt good going to bed last night - it had been a pretty good day all around! HA!
Yesterday Zoom call we were told we are going to start getting back to the office! WITH MASKS... and still distancing when/where possible! Got word later that we three Aleta, Kaitlin & I) will NOT be among the first to be called back! They are bringing Sandie back (hopefully Monday) and she will be in my and Aleta's cubicle! Makes sense to bring back folks that are NOT working from home... but who are "just home"... as long as we are till working it does seem best to bring back the ones getting paid to NOT work! Anyway... I am fine with it, truly I am! Like I have said - aside from the internet issues, I am OK with being here (now)!
Hey we've got so much (hoping) going on around here I'd like to be here for it all! LOL
I think it was the fact that we WILL be going back "soon", that got me feeling more OP yesterday... the thoughts of wearing all my dress pants again? Maybe? LOL Anyway - I am planning on being OP and tracking today... to prove to myself I CAN DO IT!
After getting the pellets, I had ordered on line at 99... I got the simple balsamic chicken with potatoes and broccoli! I had ordered a baked potato, but got the mashed... no biggie... but not as OP as planned! IT was a good meal... not too expensive, and I didn't have to cook!
Today I have to create a list, and Tracy & I will shop after work tonight! Need food to feed folks Sunday!! YAY!!!
OK I have a little time before heading to the shower... let's see if I can catch up! ♥

Sue: We are at 41 now, but expecting crappy weather later so I think I can get shopping done before it starts... might wake up to snow... UGH!
Oh yes... negativity is soooo easy to give in to these days! Thanks for giving us a THANKFUL THURSDAY... My list would be - 1.) My health - not my weight, but my health! LOL 2.) My family - At some point we WILL all be back together again and able to enjoy our time ♥ 3.) My home - It may need a LOT of time and attention but it is the home we raised our kids in, and it has served us well over the years. 4.) My job - and Ken's... Our jobs give us the financial security we need to take care of the house, and the groceries, and our healthcare...it may suck the life out of me some days - but without it - who knows where we'd be these days! 5.) Matthew & Patti - I am so thankful every day that he and I had a close relationship, it makes me smile to "remember" all the things he chose to do, including staying close to the family - instead of moving to CO when he met Patti! I am thankful that she didn't insist on HIM moving there! I miss him every single day - and yes I still cry at least once a day - but, I also find I smile when thinking about some of the times we have had over the years ♥

Good Morning ~ happy to see it is FRIDAY!!
Totally missed yesterday - so I'll need to read up on what is happening...
Pulled together a Graduation Ceremony for our Linds - ordered cupcakes, balloons, and coordinated with the neighborhood Moms to honor Lindsey on Saturday then a Block Party with Social Distancing for Sunday to honor all 4 Grads! We will place a decorated table at the end of our driveways and neighbors can Grab-n-Go a treat - I ordered Cookies for our table. AnnMarie will do a punch. Shelly is doing her famous Brownies. Not sure yet what Debbie is setting up. The one neighbor across from us is actually a local celebrity - he's a News Anchor for our local news - they asked him to announce the Grads as they proceed down individual driveways - not sure if he's around Sunday at 3:00 but could be cute! I'll set up our Saturday balloons and place them at our table.
So, 2 events organized all the while dealing with work and DL stirring the pot....I swear, I wasted close to TWO hours sorting out a mess of chaos she kept stirring up! The Curriculum Director was in the building with DL Wednesday and by mid-day Thursday I could see she 'drank the Kool Aid' and totally believed every nasty accusation DL was dishing out - had a Virtual Meeting including the Deans who quietly watched the fire works between the Curriculum Director and myself - I was NOT going down without a fight! Not until later that day did I see a Parent's email to me saying, "I had approval for packets to be mailed home the remainder of this school year by Ms. Kristi" (NOT Christine). I passed this along to the Prince, the Deans, and DL to clear my good name. No reply from anyone and definitely no apology was issued for wrongly blaming me. Par for the course, right?

Morning Carole and all to come...never did make it back here after work....tweaked my back a bit at work yesterday so came home and hit the recliner with the heating pad....then just got to lazy to get up and go to the computer to catch up. Will do that when I get out at lunch time today!!
This is my last half day. I'm hoping I don't have to use any more vacation time.
The state "stay at home" got extended until June 4th BUT counties will be opening prior to that on a county by county basis. Today 13 counties opened, including Christine's....hoping they announce that York County opens soon, then we can definitely have Jackson's birthday since it gives groups of 25 or less with social distancing of course!
Want to put a bit of heat on my back before I head to work...back still a bit "ouchy" and I want to make sure it's in good shape to paint tonight!!!
Have a great Friday!!

I did take a good walk in the sunshine (where did that come from? lol) and saw from across the street a friend/colleague from years ago - she's a retired School Nurse and was on several Teams with me 10 years ago - it was fun to catch up as we walked! Good News: 1. Lindsey officially finished her Undergraduate career! 2. Lindsey comes home for the weekend (later today) 3. DH Gary goes back to work Monday (OH THANK YOU LORD!) 4. It will only be miserably cold outside with 23 mph winds this weekend, NOT snow 5. The SUN will be out for Sunday's Block Party (short, brief, event) 6. Contractor begins work (Handyman jobs) this Monday Okay - need to reach out to Disney to see what to do about our summer trip. They re-opened their restaurants in Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) starting May 20....May be rearranging things again - more on that later -

Good morning! Totally missed yesterday. Turns out my boss saved mine and my team members jobs. On the other team 2 got laid off 2 got foughload. She told corporate that we each had a job and what it was. She is putting together a PowerPoint to try and convince them to allow us to work from home. Keeping fingers crossed. We would have a video call weekly and go into the office once a month.
One of the principles of Emilie’s school delivered a yard sign with her name to celebrate her graduating. He took her picture and put it online so I’ll have to put that on our fb page. They are planning on graduation for a June 12. They have 3 Contingency plans to pull this off. I’m so glad they are doing something for the graduates.
Carole thanks for starting us. More movement is good. I’ll tell you I am getting no where near the steps I did working at the office. Sounds like you had a good day. Nice to know you will go back to work later. Yes seems like a no brained for to have the ones not working to go back 1st. I still can’t believe how the could afford to do that. Is your family getting together for Mother’s Day?

Christine, that is such a good idea to do a neighborhood celebration for Lindsey and the graduates . I love it! Is it a combination of high school and college? I can’t believe the crap you have to put up with at work. DL is such a manipulator. Over something that sounds like not a very big deal. Did your desk come?
ok I will have to catch up and check in later. I’ve got to get ready.

Gabrielle: WOW! Yes that will be a FULL TIME JOB right there... but what an honor? Maybe?? Your Supt. knows who he can count on! {{{hugs}}} as you try to get this done on top of the work you are already doing! I'd kill the Zoom calls ASAP! LOL That's a lot of time on the phone! Yum, to the Chinese... I love it - but we do NOT order ANYTHING "healthy"! LOL Lots of fried stuff... so good, but sooo very BAD!
Hmm, well I think the upheaval with the "decisions" for the roof, are because the choices are much more $$ than we thought they would be... and he was kind of a "hard sell" kind of guy... I was feeling "pressured" but DH was more confident... THAT is a SWITCH big time here! It's usually HIM that's having second thoughts and I am the GO FOR IT one! Anyway... when I called the company the woman said No cost - No Obligation Quote - Good for 1 year. However the SALESMAN, was "offering deals if we sign tonight"! He said because of the Pandemic, he has crews NOT working - so if we sign on NOW, we'll get it done - and get his guys back to work... because some of the jobs they have lined up - the people won't let them in the house to DO, yadda - yadda - yadda... I felt it was a sales pitch... DH thought "it makes sense"... It was a great presentation - and Ken does know from what some other roofers buy/do, that this company is doing a better job... but...
I am still feeling like... did we get "taken"? Too late to back out now... the guy DID walk outside for a good 20 -30 minutes to give us time to chat... so we did talk about it... I don't know... I just know it will save us a LOT of "yearly angst" over did we lose slates this winter? Or do we have a leak this year??
It's just a LOT of $$ and I am not "convinced" if we sell the house in 5 years WILL we get more for it? Never going to know that for SURE until we do it! Oh the GOOD thing I DO LIKE is the 45 year guarantee of materials AND LABOR transfers with the house... so IF we sell in 5 years the new homeowner will have a 40 year guarantee on the roof! That SHOULD count for something, right??
Anyway... the deal is done - and now that it IS, I want it done NOW... not 4-6 weeks from now... I want them here NOW! LOL The measuring guy is coming Monday to confirm this guys measurements... and to "map out" the yard, to know where things will go and what they have to work around... bringing me to my landscaper! Now HE will have to be put on hold... can't get the yard freshly seeded and then have roofers all over the place! UGH!
So we apparently have a "Project Manager" that we go through if we have questions/concerns... so I will be calling HIM soon to say I want to be put on the schedule NOW... I want to know NOW when they will be coming... I do not want to wait and find they are not coming until mid-summer!
Sorry - you all just got the long version of my concerns!
Oh dear... A mall??? Yeah... that is a place I avoid in good times! LOL Not sure I will be chomping at the bit to go shopping any time soon! We are hearing of places with EMPTY Covid hospital beds... so I guess that's why we are opening up? Golf courses and gun shops today! LOL Neither one is peaking MY interest! LOL
Oh did I tell you my allergy clinic is opening? They are gearing up for June 1 - by appointment only - but before you can make an appointment for injections - you have to have a tele-med appointment with the doctor. So they can discuss HOW the injection routine will go (per individual) - I know I am going to have to go back to weekly to get "caught up" again! Anyway, I called RIGHT AWAY and have my telemed appointment in 1 1/2 weeks... and then I can start to schedule my injections! YAY!
LOL Not sure my "head is in a good place" but it's not in "despair" as I felt the first 2-3 weeks of working from home! I am doing better with getting my day started then taking my break to shower and get dressed...not sure why - but the early morning, then never leaving my desk just wasn't working this week!
Shelly: WOW! You guys are really ROCKING that new deck!! I LOVE IT! Looks like it will be ready for your family gathering this weekend! Hmm, well, from my experience, I prefer staining the deck. We left our natural and over time it looked awful! However we were told IF we were to stain it we should let it weather for a year before sealing/staining... just what we were told. Good luck. {{{hugs}}}
Ouch! Sorry for the tooth problem, but thank goodness it was repairable and quick!
You and DFIL share a BD?? I agree - you only turn 50 once, enjoy it! I threw myself a party when I turned 50! Just wanted ONE BD to be "Special" for me... sharing my BD with a holiday was not as fun growing up and growing older as you all might think! Can't DDIL bring her niece with her to the party Saturday?? Especially if the girl will be living there, near you, soon... I hope you told DDIL that the niece is invited - and it would be good for her to get to know you all!
Oh dear... well, I am guessing you are bone tired this week! Helping DH on the deck after a full day of work!! Yes, let's see if we can get to work "on time" next week! Heck, my desk is right "there" and I still don't get clocked in on time some days! LOL It does still take 6-9 minutes to get TO the clock in site... by the time I get the connections and all to get to the ADP website!

Good morning ladies! ☼ Good to see Christine - Sue - Jo, first thing in the morning! Sorry I can't catch up with you all right now... time to make my way to work - and I am taking the scenic route, to grab my last coffee for the day - on my way IN to work! I will be back when I can... sun is shining right now, up to 44 degrees... will definitely be walking outside here and there today as long as the sun is shining!! ♥hugs♥

Afternoon all....finally getting a chance to sit at the computer and catch up...been puttering around and yes, I did turn the heat back on a few minutes ago...when I got home about 12:30 it was 69.4°....I was moving and it felt fine then I sat for a bit to eat some lunch and it got chillier and chillier...I looked at the thermometer and it had dropped a degree in a couple hours....with the cold temps just rolling in for the next two days figured it was better to keep ahead of the real cold and take the chill off now!! If this was during the week, I would have let it go but since we are both going to be home for the next two days, neither of us want to be cold and bundled up in the house.
Got some of my paint stuff out and ready to set up later, broke down a bunch of boxes that I had stacked in the end of the living room and now it looks less cluttered. Will have a few more to break down later when I finish setting up for painting but so far, I'm ready to go!!
Carole...sorry Wednesday was so tough and the roofing guy seemed so overwhelming!! Sometimes sales people can be that way!! WOW, Ken never goes to the other room....guess you must have been sleeping fairly well to have not noticed until morning!! LOL, yes, there is something nice about being able to just refill your water or warm up your coffee/tea whenever you want....the advantages of being at home.
Yes Carole...I saw on the weather this morning that snow could be coming your way...not too much but too much for MAY!! Funny thing is, I was telling Paul today that I lost 3 days of school my junior year in HS...May 7th, 8th, 9th....kind of ironic that it falls at the same time this year!! Crazy!! Thankfully we shouldn't get more than a flake or two!! Christine might not be as lucky! Fingers crossed you get some warmer weather on Sunday....we will be 47° on Saturday but supposed to be 62° on Sunday....here's hoping you get similar of you might need more than a sweatshirt!!
Oh...we are all waiting for the day that masks become "recommended" again in PA...then this girl will NOT be wearing one. As it is, I pull mine down or take it off when I have to. I've been noticing the last couple days that as the day goes on I start to get a cough and tight chest....today I already coughing by 10 or so but I had also been doing handwork so had my mask on....within an hour of getting home and no mask, the cough and tightness is gone. I will continue to monitor it and if it continues, I just won't wear one unless someone is uncomfortable...I'll have it pulled down under my chin and only up if someone wants it tat way!!
Gabrielle...sorry for the late night and being so tired yesterday...I know you get up pretty early!! WOW, that's a lot of responsibility the superintendent put on you....but he knows you can handle it!! All this talk of Chinese food makes me hungry for it...will have to check and see if any of ours are open yet???
OK Gabrielle...I think part of the reason Jim and Annie are so thorough with the email is because when this first started we got "bare bones" and then they got bombarded by a bunch of questions from all of us....remember, we ALL come from medical backgrounds/education so we wanted more details...we all know what values should be and what certain meds and test are for so they learned that if they don't just do it from the "get go"...they end up sending more emails!!
Update on DM...today she was discarded to rehab. The email update we got late yesterday said that she was very weak and since she was NOT actually walking to the BR as we were originally told, all she did was lay in bed or sit in a chair. When Annie got there and was able to visit for the first time she saw a bedside commode in the room and the staff admitted that when it's busy it's faster and easier...so needless to say, pivoting to the BSC is NOT the same as walking to the BR. Annie did get a call today from the nurse liason at the rehab facility and based on the PT report from the hospital they think that she should only need 7-10 days to regain her strength. Annie told her that she WILL need to be pushed or she will wallow in self-pity and the "poor mes"!! The place comes highly recommended but unfortunately she will have NO visitors while in there.....thank you COVID-19!! She will be on the bottom floor so they can wave to her threw the window and talk to her on the phone and she can see them...best we have at this point. Will wait to hear more updates once she arrives!

Shelly...the porch is looking awesome!!! Looks like it should be "ready enough" for the weekend!!! I personally like natural but it's not my deck!!! OH NO....sorry for the jellybean/cap mishap!! So glad the dentist could fix it right away!! Sorry Vicki made plans for the niece to come this weekend...yes, you are 50 ONLY ONCE!!! Glad the stock issues seem to slowly improving. That seems to be the case for most things here too but still meat, especially beef, and TP are still scarse!
Yes...I'd love another ZOOM visit soon!! I know with Mother's day and other celebrations this weekend it will likely have to be another time but I'm in!!
Carole...thanks for starting us off today....because I had a half day and the weather is miserable I won't get in all my steps and will miss a few dots but that's OK. Food and water has been fine today but I will have my cheese, bologna, crackers and wine painting snack tonight....won't overdo it but not exactly OP but it's nice "finger food" snacks!!
WOW...that's exciting Carole...heading back to the office...I know you have settled in to being at home but you knew it would come sooner or later. Yes, definitely makes sense to bring back the ones that have not been working...it's time they "earned" their paycheck for a change!!! Yes, it will be nice to be home for all the renovations, home improvement jobs!! LOL, well, glad the fact you are going back to the office soon has reinforced bein OP!! You've got this!! I'm sure your clothes fit just fine!! Your dinner from 99 sounds yummy!! 99 is pretty reasonably priced!! Always nice to not have to cook!!!
Hope you did get the shopping done before the rains came...it started raining just as I was leaving work at noon today....will rain until around midnight, then the winds kick up BIG TIME!! We are crossing our fingers that the wind will keep us from getting any frost....right now with the strawberries in full blossom...if they frost nips then every strawberry will be gone!! We might try to go out if the rain stops earlier and cover them. We will likely lose some asparagus too! So frustrating....but that's the hazards of the garden and uncertainty of the weather this time of year...this is the reason you don't plant any of the tender plants like tomatoes, beans, squash, etc before Mother's day!!!
Christine...yay for pulling together the graduation ceremony for Linds...does she have any idea?? The celebration and block party sound like such a fun time. Would be really awesome if your neighbor could announce the grads as they come down the driveway!!! UGH....DL at it again, eh?? WOW....so glad you had the email from the parent to "clear your name" regarding the packets....sorry no response from anyone or apology for the confusion!!!
How nice you got a walk and to chat with an old colleague!!! So excited you will have both your girls home for Mother's Day!! Will Lindsey be staying home or heading back to the apartment?? LOL, so glad Gary goes back to work...that will definitely help his mood!! Will everyone at the dealership be heading back??? Lots of good news at your house!! Bummer you have to rearrange Disney again...I had heard they would be opening VERY slowly.....hope you can make it all work!
Hi Jo....so awesome your boss "went to bat" for you and your team!! Hopefully the powerpoint presentation will be successful in keepin you working from home!! I know you enjoy that!! I'm sure that was special for Emilie to have the sign in the yard and the post on the FB page!! It's really great to see schools doing their best to really celebrate their seniors in a year when everything went "upside down"!!
Carole...that's a lot to take in "on the spot" with the roofer!! LOL, yes, usually you are the confident one with home improvements and Ken is the one dragging his feet! Yes, roofs are a TON of money these days....hard to just "sign on the dotted line" when you are feeling pressured like that! But seems Ken took charge and all is under control!! I guess if you are going to get the same roof for a little less $$$ by signing up right away....it makes sense. As long as this roofer is in the same price range as others.... Yes, the transfer of the guarantee should count for something when you do sell the house....I know for many, the roof can be a "sticking point" in the inspections when selling houses....definitely need to get it done and with the transfer of the guarantee it is reassurance for the new home owner!!
Well, while inconvenient to put the landscaper on hold, it definitely makes sense to get the roof done before you fix up the yard....you know they will be dropping crap off the roof and wreaking havoc with your lawn....then when it's done, the landscaper can come and "pretty it back up"!!
Carole...so glad the allergy clinic is opening up and you were able to get the telemed appointment fairly quickly!!! That's a good thing and one of the openings that makes the most sense to me!!
Funny Carole...Dad & Pat sealed their deck/porch natural and it looks as good as it did the day they did it!!! They people that put it on put several layers of a sealent on it and it still looks like the day they did it and it's been done for 15+ years!
You know...I've always hoped that when due dates are close to someone else's birthday that they DON"T end up the same day! I think everyone in the family should have their own day!! Mine was often celebrated on the 4th of July because mine is the 2nd but it was still mostly "my day"!! David and Dad were the same day and they always shared a cake!! I guess I never thought it would be fun to share "my day"! Granted, with Shelly and DFIL that is different.....two different families! LOL!!
Waves to all I missed...going to put my feet up for a bit...then set up my painting table, easel and get ready for a fun night of painting with friends. This one will be a ZOOM meeting so we will be able to see each other!! Should be fun!! I'm excited for this one!! Watch for pictures on FB!!

Evening ladies....oh what a day. Again I overslept. If it wasn’t for Bailey knowing I should’ve already been up I probably would not have gotten up when I did. She sleeps in a kennel most of the time because she still chews up stuff but getting better. Anyway I should’ve already been up but kept hitting snooze and she started barking at me!!! Thank goodness for her. So barely made it to work in time and when I got there Samantha had made signs and blasted them all over the place saying happy 50th bday for all the customers to see and black streamers. Then she made me lunch and had an awesome lemon 3 layer cake made for me and a card with $225 she had collected Wow I felt so loved!!!!
Carole I did make it to the gym but that’s probably all I can say for fitness Friday. Plus I did a lot of moving when I got Home because I was trying to clean up the front yard. Wish I had my mower. DS borrowed it but it needs new front tires and we are waiting on them to come in. Ugh it looks horrible. Not like I wanted for company that’s for sure.
Yay for getting back to the office. I know work from home is nice but sometimes seeing ppl makes a difference. Wouldn’t want to deal with drama but other than that it will be nice.
Weather here is cool too. Tonight it is 44°. I think low is supposed to get around 39° and it’s May!!! Never ever can I remember my bday being so cool. Days are good just morning and evening cold. I turned the heater on at work in back room today it was so cold.
Oh my sounds like it was pretty overwhelming with the roofer. Hope it all turns out good. Yes sounds like a good guarantee. And yes it’s a lot of money but I’m sure it will all turn out good.
Carole the deck is issuable but don’t have steps in it yet. I do have a small step stool that we can use or we can go in the back door. It will all be ok. Oh DH thought we would need to stain and seal right away!!!! I will have to look into that. I know DH will insist it gets treated right away!!! We will see. Oh yes I do share a bday with DFIL so besides that my bday also competes with Mother’s Day. Oh and my kids all graduated on or around my bday. May is a busy month
Christine glad you guys are able to do some kind of graduation party for the seniors. I feel so bad for all of them. I drove down Main Street yesterday and our town had done banners of all the seniors and hung them on the street lights. I thought that was pretty cool.
Yay glad DH is going back to work. It’s going to be a great weekend for you guys. Lindsey will be home and get To celebrate graduation and back to work for DH!!!
Oh so sorry DL was storing things up for you. I can’t believe when you was able to prove them wrong not one person offered an apology. The nerve of them.
Sue oh wow they extended the stay at home. So sad. I would love to see ppl be able to go back to work. Just use common sense and stay out of people’s bubble.
Jo yes I feel for the seniors. So sad for all they have missed out on. Glad they are finding a way to honor them though. And they get to have a graduation!! How awesome is that.
Ok sorry guys but I have to cut this short. I’m off tomorrow but got to get to the gym early then get home and bake cakes and make potato salad and all that.
Probably will not make it back here tomorrow unless I just get done with stuff early but you all know me.
