I appreciate my online friends now more than ever.
Karen, thanks for the start. Happy Birthday Eve! What plans do you have for the birthday celebration?
Linda, how are you feeling today?
Liz, I hope the end of the week brings you some relief.
Denise, are you working this weekend? If not, I hope you make it to the water.
Becky, it is raining today, so I have Iggy cooking stuffed zucchini and chopping up carrots and celery for snacking. I hope you are doing well today.
Kathy, I just recalled what you said about your DN and his internship and I was sorry to near it. I hope better things are to come for him.
We are expecting it to drop to 27° tonight. Brrr! I made a foray to Kroger. Most people had masks this time except for a couple in their 30s. I had a nicer cashier than last time. The last one wouldn’t even talk, just nodded when asked a question and glared. She was not one of the usual cashiers I have seen.

Good luck with the plants, Chele. Monday might have been a better day for Iggy to have taken off so the plants could have gone in as soon as they arrived, unless your weather will still be cold and rainy then. Good luck with maintaining your sanity today. Is Iggy just feeling cooped up to make him more restless? Dale used to get that way sometimes when he was stuck in his office for days on end. At least you're getting some cooking done. We usually have good luck here with UPS but it was the exact opposite at the other house. Do you get much fruit from your mulberry or do you basically leave it for wildlife? Yes, Buck and Abby should be interesting next week. He would jump back in with her in a heartbeat and, hopefully, her coming back means the same for her. I wonder if she and Maddie will be new coworkers. That could also be an interesting dynamic, regardless of which way the romance goes. I may break down and get a hair cut as soon as I can. My shop is fairly small and many times it's been just my stylist (the owner) and me. On the other hand, I think I will wait a while on the dentist. I heard this morning on the news that they will not be able to use the gizmo they use to remove plaque because it sends aerosol droplets onto surfaces and they will have to take it off manually like in the olden days. Scrape, scrape, scrape! I'm trying to determine alternatives for lower body strength training so I can avoid the gym. Nice that Silver Sneakers means I don't have a monthly membership to pay. We typically didn't go to sit-down restaurants anyway, but will do salmon tacos from my favorite place for my birthday for pick up. I downloaded a bunch of Mediterrasian recipes from the website. Have you read Blue Zones? Pretty interesting information. I've tried so many diets that haven't worked, so I think I'll give this a shot. I did find some wild caught tuna yesterday at Publix and I have some wild caught salmon in the freezer, so I have a little head start on where I want to go with this. Sometimes I think I just need to stop reading about diets and stick to something to see if I can find one that will work. It can get so confusing.
Becky, I feel better about going to a hair salon than I would about tanning or nail salons. How's the ankle/foot doing today? You don't have PT again until next Wednesday? How's the reopening going there.
Amen on the meme, Linda! When will things start to reopen there, or has the plan been pared back due to the local data being used, as opposed to Trump's head metrics?? How long do you think it will be before you and Bob feel safe going back into a restaurant? What was on your agenda today? Did have outside stuff to do this morning?
Kathy, they are talking about an inch of snow on Clingman's Dome Sunday morning. We might also have a frost, and it's way past the average last frost by about 2 weeks. Weird year! Is your weather more seasonal than ours is? They closed a couple of lanes of traffic through Gatlinburg to use for pedestrians, which means more traffic backup on the remaining lanes. Not a place I would be going this weekend. Is the pond filling up any? Are you seeing different wildlife with the warmer weather? How is WW going for you during all the time at home?
Did you work last night, Denise? I know what you mean about it typically being quieter at night. But some of the really nasty stuff like trauma can happen in the wee hours, so that can make more work for you. How's WW going for you?
Liz, you made it to Friday. I hope things are improving each week. Get some rest this weekend. How are things going at Gary's place? How are the pups doing?
I've had a busy day so far. Workout is done, loaf of bread is baking for Dale, I fixed chickpeas in the IP, and made a couple jars of Sauerruben, which is fermented shredded turnips. I'm trying to increase my fermented foods and I think this should be kind of like coleslaw when it's done. I also split a block of tofu and have part of it marinating to put in the air fryer for dinner and the rest is in the fridge as scrambled tofu. I fixed a really good salad for lunch--kind of a Greek salad with a bed of kale and power greens from the CSA, some of the chickpeas, kalamata olives, a green onion, about 1/2 oz of feta cheese, and my favorite TJ's FF balsamic vinaigrette. I also had a statewide Zoom meeting. Not much planned for the afternoon. This is the newsletter deadline so I better get some things turned in. In the spirit of Linda's meme, with the current situation, those of you on the thread are the people I interact with the most. I can't get together with my friends in NC and don't see my local friends that much these days either. Thanks for always being here.

Karen, thanks for the start. We're having a cool May after a record hot April, so it hasn't been that seasonal. It got into the 50s last night which is chilly for us. It will warm up and then another front is coming through on Sunday. The pond is still pretty low. They've had some wildfires in the panhandle, so we could use more rain. My weight has been trending down, although I think it's more due to lack of eating out and splurges from the Pubix bakery than WW. I still like the Purple plan though. I'm down 5 lbs since March. Do you have any birthday plans?
Chele, I hope DN can find something too. It would've been so great for him to get the experience out at the space center. He is applying for their fall internship, so maybe will get something there. Wow, 27 is downright cold! Our weather has turned a bit cooler, but it's pretty comfortable. I ordered DM's groceries yesterday and the shopper seemed to be having trouble with the app. She went to check out and said it wasn't allowing her to pay through Apple Pay. Somehow she fixed it and it went through. Phew!
Linda, nice meme. I also value my online friends here and some days you're the only people I've talked to. Hope you're feeling better.
Liz, another week! Hope things have been improving some. I saw a short film Spike Lee did as a tribute to NYC yesterday. It showed the empty streets all over the city, but then showed all the activity outside of a hospital and some of the healthcare workers. It must be strange to see the city that way.
Waving to Becky and Denise.

Never heard of sauerubin...sounds a German. Interesting.
i think the soothing cream and antibiotics are helping, waiting to hear today in the urine test result.
Becky...high fire warning here too...a couple smaller ones already.
bob wanted rest of the meatball sandwich leftover last night, so tonight is the mushroom tartine (sounds classier than toast). I did the garlic mushroom part for later and set up the rest. Will have it with roasted butternut squash, tart dried cherries, pecans salad. Usually cranberries but have nit found any latel
laundry from yesterday in dryer...sort of forgot it! Had to rewash.
mostly did a puzzle.

Karen Thanks for the start.
I also value my online friends more than ever now.
Chele Sorry about the rain.My calf is really tight today and it's been very windy so I have been walking inside. We did go to Walmart but not much else.Wow on 27 for tomorrow. It's 77 here right now.I'm glad you had a nicer cashier today.
Karen I will definitely wait for a hair cut. I have only heard of one hair salon opening today and they had appointments available on their page on Facebook. I don't normally go there and just use Great Clips but I don't know how or when they will open since they don't take appointments. Here the stylist stations have to be 6' apart. My ankle/foot isn't bad today but the knee area and calf are really sore.I have to go Monday for the ultrasound in RR and Wednesday is just the initial assessment at the clinic and I will have to get appointments set up then.I am leery about going because my knee doesn't bend enough for a recumbent bike but maybe after they do the moist heat and ice it will bend more.Mayor Adler isn't following Abbott's time table and I'm glad for them.I wish our county would take their lead.Have a happy birthday tomorrow.
Linda Yes we are under a high wind alert until 7:00 PM.I hope you feel better soon.
