Christine: Thanks for starting us off today. IKR?? Snow?? UGH... I am OK with it stopped now, but darn this cold! Sun is shining bright but only 36... not going to warm up much today/tomorrow I'm afraid!
Oh I do hope you get your celebration today & tomorrow... but postponing a week will be good if you get the weather for everyone to participate and ENJOY being out there! Yay for moving up to gatherings of 10 anyway!
Linds is only home for the weekend? Oh right... otherwise you would NOT be able to use her space as your office... she's the one that needs the peace and quiet of her apartment. LOL Pretty soon your day will be just you and Carly! That might ease some of the tensions in the house?? You upstairs, and Carly enjoying "your" living room!
OH Christine - I am so sad that DL continues to put herself and her favorites over the ones that actually teach the kids! What a trip she is on!! Well a nice paved driveway and gated entrance will be nice, but it won't help when you don't have the teachers to teach the kids! Parents must be able to see and understand that! Parents don't give a HOOT about a paved driveway! Glad you can sit back and feel confident in Plan B. {{{hugs}}}
I hear ya' hun... the stress of "everything" good or bad, has wicked end results to all my planning and prepping! Yes, I already told everyone that if the weather doesn't cooperate - we will move inside. Might still be able to cook outside - if not, no biggie... and Jaclyn never said if it were inside they would not be here... so here's hoping she has had enough of her "lock down"!
YAY for the new desk and it helping your back! I love that Linds is so easy going over the desk... and getting her room/your office straightened up... WHEW, she sounds easy to "work with"!
OUTLETS are OPEN??? They WHY are you at home LOL
Gabrielle: Ahhhh 90 degrees??? Seriously you and I need to switch houses for the spring! UGH! You would LOVE running here... no worries about being too hot for ya'!
Sorry about the MD gift snafu... around here they opened Flower Shops JUST IN TIME for MD! LOL What about a nice plant from one of the greenhouse places you have out there? Or a gift card for her to use at a later date? Somewhere SHE loves to shop?? Good luck {{{hugs}}}Oh Maybe just take her a nice MD brunch to share outside on her porch?
LOL Yes I am sure you will have a NUMBER of long days ahead!!
OI have to agree... if I can go to any Wal-Mart, WHY can't I go to the local dress shops, or specialty stores? If a gun shop can open and make rules for distancing and a mask... why can't the small Mom & Pop stores out there that could use the financial boost right now?? Plus it would spread the people OUT over many stores instead of all congregating in ONE! I for one - AM OVER IT! I am ready to hit the outlet shops... ANYWHERE... I will wear a mask... I am fine with that... I just want to GO SOMEWHERE!! Even the darned beach... it's the folks that DON'T follow the rules that are making the rest of us suffer!! UGH! OK Sorry - Rant over!
Yes... that was the point I was trying to make... stain the deck/porch ASAP... she will be glad she did!
No - we didn't/couldn't do the metal... this one is a 45 year guarantee - the metal was only 50, so I feel good about it. Plus this company doesn't do metal-metal... they do stone covered metal... so it looks more like shingles and avoids the snow sliding off too quickly. We have always HATED the snow coming down in HUGE sheets all together - which is TERRIBLE when it HITS the ground... add to that it is NOT shovelable! No way to ever get through it... so this way, the snow will come off "slower" not POUNDING down on the (new) patio... so I think we made the best choice. Fingers crossed that we made the best decision anyway.
No looking back - what's done is done...
it's what we wanted/what we got/what we will live with!
Sue: WOW Sounds like you and I are SHARING the weather today! Oh I hope Jason gets his plants covered - sorry he couldn't do them lat night in the rain.
Jo: Sounds like a nice celebration with your DM and her home yesterday! Sorry she is so anxious to be alone in her room! Glad you and your sisters are able to Zoom with her - hoping it was just a bad week and she is more upbeat soon {{{hugs}}} ♥ I'd like 80s pretty soon - this 30-40-50 is killing me!!
Sue: So you are hearing groups of 25, Christine is being told 10... PA best get it together so y'all are on the same page!! Good for YOU being the REBEL and going to Jackson's BD!!
Hmm, I don't notice pricing issues, but then again I don't pay attention to the prices day to day anyway. I have my list - I get what we want/need, I won't NOT buy something because if the price I guess.
I was surprised to see even the frozen vegetables were SPARCE in the freezers... like WTH is going on??? I am so over this whole thing... the food shortages are BS (IMHO)...
LOL Yeah, the ones that can't walk the golf course have their noses out of joint... MY point is, I don't golf... so open something that I DO! I commented this morning "WELCOME TO OUR WORLD"... we don't get to do what we want - no sympathies here!
Oh dear... still such a roller coaster for DM. Well at least she has a phone handy... you can call her... get a line on what SHE is thinking these days. Maybe she needs new glasses??
Jo: No we went with non-metal roof. I am happy with our choice... it will look great - and we AVOID the harsh pounding of the snow coming off in sheets.
Oh... got a message last night that Patti and her mother laid laminate flooring in Patti's master bedroom yesterday! Saw pics on FB and it looks great! So impressed with her initiative to get it done!
OK Time to get moving - past time actually! LOL I have been watching TV and catching up here... had more coffee... just plain being lazy! I think I will get to work on some painting today... to get another couple of walls done so we can move things around again and hopefully get the last wall "cleaned off" and then get that done (another day). I need to get the next 2 walls done, so we can get things moved from the "middle room" so that final wall of Tracy's craft stuff can be moved to that "middle room"!
Will check in tomorrow - before the hullaballuu starts around here... Love to all - Enjoy your MD weekend ladies ♥hugs♥
