Good Morning and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to each of you!!! The sun is trying to peek out but the clouds are winning for the most part here. Temps are WARMER though, and might hit 50 degrees today with clouds and rain. Can't win them all... We did hold Lindsey's own special Graduation Ceremony in our driveway yesterday - the video on FB shows how windy it was - I didn't post pictures of our friends and family standing in the street wearing winter coats and masks!! But I plan to print the pictures for memories in later years. We invited inside whoever felt comfortable warming up indoors - we had less than 25 but our area has announced such conflicting confusion that some folks still abide by the less than 10 rule...but once inside I had a refreshment table set up with champagne, wine, (beer for the guys) and the cupcakes. Plenty of fresh flowers too. It was SO nice and I think we all enjoyed just being in the same house to wave and chat. Most still wore their masks even indoors. Definitely trying to social distance - interesting - and NO hugs or touches. There was plenty of space and some folks even stayed outside on the porch. Lindsey was very appreciative of the effort and we did make it fun! Today is the Block Party but honestly, if it doesn't happen we are fine. The weather is calling for rain so I'll just smile and do whatever the other Moms want. We definitely will stand outside to cheer for Abbie across the street as today was supposed to be her college graduation. I was way too tired after all this to cook dinner. Most everyone left by 4:30 so the Girls sent Ben to get a huge order of tacos lol No counting points after that!

Sue - rant away! You are indeed entitled to an emotional melt-down. I feel the SAME! All you asked was to see your Girl and her family for your Mother's Day. To be met with the heavy sigh and made to feel it was an inconvenience would have set any one of us off too! I have shed a few tears myself here over the last few weeks over how unfair this has been around here too - Carly and Gary barely work at all yet complain or 'give the look' that somehow I'm bothering THEM by working long days. I WISH I could just sit around watching Netflix or taking long leisurely naps. No wonder they feel wonderful and here I feel resentful. And at the end of each day I'm met with, "What's for dinner?" grrr....is it any wonder I just want to sit and drink? LOL LOL (which of course is met with plenty of judgy comments for even wishing it!) I hope the weather cooperates and you CAN get out for a family hike. Enjoy! Shelly - is today your celebration or did you pull it off on your actual Birthday? That is so sweet the folks at work honored you!!! Looks like you have plenty of suggestions from the others here to help you decide stain or no stain this year? Let us know what direction you are going...and if you do stain, will you add a color? We stain our back deck 'milk chocolate brown' to match our beige and tan house. Gabrielle - hope you enjoyed your LAST long solo run - we totally agree with you that DH has been a bit unfair holding you to his standard of NO running friends yet he jumps at the chance and does just that. Harumph. Right? Eye roll here...I have already shared with my DM that we will postpone Mother's Day celebration - I did buy her a nice card and will give it to her today. She wants to return to our yard to watch Abbie graduate as it was fun. But she definitely was very uncomfortable being inside around us even though only 3-4 people were in the same room as her at one time. I understand her fears. She's avoided any chance of getting this virus and does not want to chance it now. I hope you enjoy this day - and hoping you are not doing any work-work.

Carole - Happy Mother's Day to you You are such a wonderful thoughtful family Mom!! I really hope the sun comes out and you can have the Family Gathering you planned. At least get in your Hot Tub!! Hoping they bring Eden and DO visit after all - you are right, Jaclyn can manage this day for you! Glad Tim seems to have made this decision and is coming over!! Let us know how it all turns out Jo - what a wonderful Zoom call you had with all the nursing staff at your Mum's home. To enjoy high tea together was very thoughtful Sounds like your mother was just tired from it all and knew her limits. Geesh, I wish I could do the same some days, right? Sneak off to our beds...lol What plans do you have today? Jenny - I enjoyed your videos of you and Audrey and the dancers! LOL Thanks for sharing on FB - how cute and sweet!! lol I think I saw a picture of your new smoker/grill - are you trying it out today or did you christen it yesterday? I just mentioned to Carly I would be fine NOT celebrating another day of graduations - she looked surprised and said, "you must be tired" - um, yes? I will go with the flow of what everyone else is wanting to do - more on that later - ENJOY your day everyone!!!

Good morning Christine ~ Thanks for starting us off this chilly (Happy) Mother's Day ♥ About 40 degrees, sun is trying to shine - but mostly cloudy right now. Indoors or out - doesn't matter to me!! Will finish clearing up the dining room table - and we have TV Trays to set up around the living room - I will NOT "extend" the table and try to get all 12 of us sitting that closely today! It will be grab your food and find a seat! LOL It will be a later meal for us as Tim is working... I have time to finish getting ready - since yesterday I got bogged down in the upstairs - so today we have to concentrate on downstairs! LOL
Saw the "graduation" on FB - WICKED WINDY! I will say it looked like fun! YAY for people even being willing to come into your home! Glad DH was OK with having people inside too! Did your DM venture over? Or was it only the neighbors??
Glad Ben was able to go get dinner for you! Tacos aren't "too bad"... right???
Christine - IKR?? That's what I get too - it feels as soon as I stand up from the work table, Tracy is ready for dinner! UGH! I usually take my glass of wine upstairs - for about an hour... I call it "my commute"! Somedays she will cook while I am up there, somedays I cook when I come down! Hoping tomorrow is a nice day and she and Ken can find something outside to occupy themselves - OUT of my work space!!
OH YAY for your DM getting out - but keeping her distance. I agree - no sense going ALL OUT right away and chancing anything! That would make this past 6 weeks so meaningless!
Thanks Hun - and Happy Mother's Day to you as well. Glad your kids will be with you today ♥ Yes I hope it will all be a fun day and no issues... Eden will get to "open" her Easter Bag today... baskets are long put away - but all her goodies are in a bag! Just feel badly for Zoë... she got hers on Easter... but wish I had thought to keep SOMETHING here for her to "get" while Eden is getting Easter stuff. Maybe I will bag up some of the summer clothes I have here... all hand-me-downs, but the next size up and summer (new) for her! We'll see how she is handling Eden getting stuff and not her.
Well sounds like Carly is beginning to see just what you DO for everyone?? Hoping they go somewhere to bring dinner home to YOU... let you enjoy a glass of wine and relax for today! Good luck, "Celebrating" another day!!

I do have to "secretly" confess to you ladies - today will be a tough one! We are usually knee deep in pancakes by now - our annual breakfast for our relay team. Add to that it's our first holiday - ALL together - without Matthew... I know we had Easter - but Tim's family wasn't there. I don't know, gotta stop "dwelling"...
Thanks Christine - Yes, I do believe maybe morning coffee IN the hot tub in a bit... wish I had planned ahead, we could do Mimosa - but alas I did not plan for that! Oh well
Sue: Have a WONDERFUL day with your girl - and her boys ♥
Will maybe CBL as the day goes... but IF it is warm enough to be outside I have a patio to get set!! LOL
♥hugs♥

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
As mothers, I think we find ourselves always being the "caregivers" and, in times like these, it is especially exhausting--it's been going on for SO long and we have not been able to take a break to do some of those things that are caring for ourselves. Hoping that the upcoming weeks bring those things back. Just changed my hair appt (scheduled months ago) to early June so I am hoping it DOES happen! Hope that you all have some special time today. Well, we did formalize a plan. I am cooking breakfast here at my house and DM is coming and will have her spaced area to sit and DS26 and his GF are coming (a nice surprise)! I was going to take everything to DM's house, but she was saying that she couldn't see us eating outside (she has a nice patio) and that she would have to spend "all day" getting her house ready for us. It was really odd since only I would be inside (getting food set up)...we wouldn't even be inside? Hmm...so I said, do you want to come to my house instead (originally, she had complained about driving-- I live about 15 min from her). She finally decided that would be best and, actually, seemed happy about it so here we go. I have to finish my cleaning and get the quiche done soon because she moved up the time as it worked better for her to be earlier.
Christine: I LOVED the video of the announcement of Lindsey and seeing her in her cap and gown...and, wow, you could see the wind! I got tears in my eyes watching it! Such a proud moment that every parent should have! So glad that your DM could be there too. I am thinking that, especially for our parents and older (health-compromised) friends, the "getting back out there" is going to need to patience. I would think that there is some anxiety there for them. Glad she could be there in spite of it and I think my mom will be glad (and safe) today too. It is really something how some people are sort-of affected by the quartantine and others are not. I guess that some are just home bodies or something? Working from home drives me crazy some days due to SO many screen-based interactions. I prefer brainstorming at a table....but it isn't because I miss being around everyone at work (ssshhh....don't tell them!) For some in my office, i think that the work friends are the people they see most often so it has been harder. Hope that you have a nice day and glad that you had your "graduation" yesterday so today's weather isn't so challenging to deal with.

Carole: Hugs to you....OF COURSE today would be hard for you! You have NEVER really been able to be around family and get through the emotion that you immediately felt. And now there is the emotion that will continue....really, I think about this ALL of the time and wish that I could be there to support you. I will be thinking about you today! I am SO glad that Jaclyn, Tim, and Miss Eden will be there! Wonderful! Yes, metal roofs are SO expensive...I get it. There are so many choices now days...and I don't even have to think about snow! Glad that you found the best all-around solution. Wow, so many interruptions to your work on Friday---I guess that, as they transition to people coming back in, it is to be expected that it won't be perfect. I would think tomorrow might be "clunky" too. Hope that you have a wonderful family-filled day!
Sue: This is only the first time you and Jason have had a melt down? LOL, you are doing better than we are! We always get through it, but it is challenging! Yes, the golf cart thing is about people who are unable to push/carry their clubs being excluded...it has always been an ongoing thing in the PGA too. Some golfers who have a disability and whether or not it is "fair" for them to use a cart. We have the same rule as you---one person/cart unless it is a family member. Wow, so odd how your opening is happening too--same here in CA. At least your governor is actually SAYING some things about schools. Ours has been very "gray"...and we (as school people) are not medical experts so we need some guidance like "schools can open when X occurs"....nothing conclusive yet. I hadn't noticed the price gouging but I am glad that you will get your burger! LOL....I am sure that we have some of it here, I just haven't been in the store that much to see it. Enjoy your time with Sarah's family and have a good day today--so glad that you had your paint time!

Jo: Oh, I am so glad that your groups' jobs were saved! What a great thing! Does this mean that, even after the project wraps up, you will have a job? I hope that your mom gets some rest and feels better--I am sure that you were concerned seeing her so tired....maybe she realized that it was Mother's Day too? It would be hard to know, I guess. Hope that you have a good day!
Jenny: So, will the smoker be used today? I would think so! Perfect timing! I will have to watch for the video with Audrey dancing...haven't seen it yet
Shelly: I hope that your birthday was wonderful! Was the celebration yesterday or is it today? I hope that it was yesterday so you get your birthday AND Mother's Day!
Hello to Lisa, Nadine, and all who follow. Time to get the floors finished and cook. Have a good day ladies!

Happy Mother's Day my dear friends! Hope you all have a GREAT day!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Hope everyone gets a sunny day, filled with love and the people who make this day for us special!! I know I am looking forward to my pizza lunch and hike with Sarah's gang! Will be leaving in about an hour....
Thanks for starting us off Christine....
Carole...thanks for the support with my meltdown....I never realized just how much it was getting to me until yesterday and the thought of Mother's day w/o at least one of my girls around!! Sorry the painting didn't happen....best to get the drain fixed and running well! YAY for getting to enjoy the freshly cleaned bathroom!! It is the little things in life, isn't it!! Sounds like even though the painting didn't get done you had a VERY productive day!! Meatball subs sound like a great dinner...I haven't had one of those in a long time! I do have some frozen meatballs in the chest freezer so maybe that might be on the menu soon! I know Jason loves them!!
Christine...our sun is peeking in and out of the clouds too but the winds are definitely quieter than yesterday so that's a plus!! On the trails in the woods it shouldn't be too windy!! I love the video of Lindsey's graduation celebration in the driveway! Yes, definitely need to have the pictures for memories of what a crazy year she had!! Sounds like a wonderful celebration and I'm glad many came in to enjoy the treats and still were wise about social distancing!! Hey, a big bunch of tacos sounds great to me too!!! Hope you can have the block party today but if the rains come, better to push it off until next week when it will be warmer and hopefully there won't be rain!!
Glad DM joined you, but I too get that she is being very cautious when it comes to the virus....great idea to postpone a Mother's Day celebration to a time when everyone can truly enjoy it!!
Carole...when I got up it was 41° but temps are steadily climbing...should be right around 60° when we head out for our hike...I will dress in layers because I know it could be chilly in the woods! I know you will be ready for family to arrive later....having Tim work is a blessing disguise because it gives you that extra time! Great idea NOT to extend the table and making sure people can spread out.....perfect "social distancing" set up to hopefully make Jaclyn comfortable if you are indeed inside to eat!
Carole...don't apologize for the mixed emotions of today...yes, without Matt is will be very different and you will NOT be the only one feeling that way!! I'm sure it is odd not having the Mother's Day breakfast too...so many changes this year!!
Oh...Sarah just texted and said "don't wear your best sneakers, sometimes it's muddy on the trails"! She so sweet worried about my shoes!! I went and dug out the oldest pair I own and really don't care what happens to them....they should have been trashed long ago...guess I hung onto them just for today! LOL!!
Gabrielle....sounds like you have a nice day planned with DM and Tyler & his GF....so happy you can have both your boys with you today!! Enjoy!!!
Time to get dressed and ready to head to Sarah's...I ordered the pizza online yesterday to pick up at 11:00am...early lunch but then we can make dinner shortly after we get back home and it won't be too late! So excited for my burger!!! It's the little things!!
Waves Jo, Jenny, Shelly, Lisa, Nadine and anyone else yet to come!!

Happy Mothers day to all of you my friends
Well we decided to invite my Mom & Dad down to sit outside and eat some ribs for Mothers day and they are so excited to come down. My sister will be here also, she was really glad about that idea. She was the one who cried at Easter cause she couldn't be with the family. We cooked a whole chicken in our new smoker grill yesterday and ribs today, it's going to be so nice. The vidios are something that the dance teacher thought up for Mothers day, they are pretty cute and then I saw on the new's that on Tic Tok it's a vidio challange. Some are done by soft ball teams and baseball teams it's really cute.
OK need to get going for now

Just back from a wonderful Mother's Day down at Sarah's....we kept our distance for the most part but did all sit around the table for lunch but were about 3 feet apart...close enough for me at this point....heck, sometimes at work I'm closer than that to people so I'm good with it!! Wandered out to see the garden for the first time all season and things are looking good...doesn't look like the frost hurt anything. Sarah had covered a couple of her plants but those she didn't seemed to make it just fine!!
After lunch hit the La Ho trail...just under 2 miles through the woods around part of the lake....up and down, round about but it was fun and manage to NOT slip and fall in any of the mud....Jackson almost lost a shoe in the mud and Kellen slipped while "skipping rocks" and landed on his caboose is some mud....all in all a GREAT day and just what this momma needed!
Yes, I may catch it from Hannah later about going down but that's OK....my mental health needed it and I don't regret a minute!! We've already tentatively planned a birthday gathering for Jackson's birthday next week....hopefully with firepit and s'mores!!!
Hope all are having a great day!!
Jenny...enjoy time with your folks and the smoked ribs!! Loved the Tik Tok video!!!
Waves all...enjoy the rest of your day!

Good evening and Happy Mother’s Day!!! I had a great birthday yesterday. Our celebration was yesterday and they got one of my sets of stairs done. Hopefully DH will be able to work on the other one tomorrow!!! It looks awesome. We will stain the deck. Not sure how dark I will Go. Going to look in Pinterest for different looks and decide. A carpenter grind of DD and DM said give it a month or two and then stain it. DD and DM got here about noon and DM helped with the potato salad. I made some baked beans and DS smoked brisket and I finished it in the oven Everyone showed up and it was nice to have family here. The weather was decent yesterday but cool today. I’m glad it turned out good. We sat with just a light sweater or jackets on as we got into the evening. I am able to put several chairs out on the deck and visit. Christine oh my snow...... That is crazy for May 8. It’s cool her actually today felt cold!!! But I know not like your weather. Sorry about the continued frustrations at work!!! Isn’t DL retiring real soon?? I hope so for your sake. Gabrielle yes we will go with a stain but will likely be putting it on around July. Was advised to use a high pen it rating stain and to stain every couple of years. I’m sure our summer heat will be tough on it and we want to protect it for years of enjoyments. To bad we can’t cover it right now. In due time. Oh my 90 in CA. This week is cool and chance of storms. We haven’t had any storms to speak of yet this year. Been nice not worrying about bad weather but do need some rain desperately. Storms with very large hail have been an issue south of us just not up here. Carole Loved your FB post of Matt’s MD cards for to you. So glad you have those to look back on!!! Hugs my friend. Thank you for your advice on the staining of the deck. Yes I think sooner rather than later will be the plan. When do you go back to the office? I hope soon so you can get back to normal work day. Will they be back to full capacity when you go back? Sorry to cut this short but I have got to get to bed Will talk to you tomorrow
