Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
An all day, rainy day, in store for Buffalo. Looks like the temps will start warming up on Wednesday and we should start seeing the 60s again.
Ruth - so nice that you were able to spend time with family and get those hugs. I see lots of garden parties in the future. DB was even talking about us getting together in his yard for Memorial Day. As the weather gets nicer, socially distancing in yards will probably become the norm this summer. I could live with that.
Dottie - I wish we would have had sunshine yesterday, it was very gloomy. I will usually walk in the rain as long as it’s not pouring. We’ll see what today brings.
I should be getting work later this morning. Looking forward to chatting with driver.
I looks like NYs stay at home will end on the 15th. I don’t think Cuomo will extend it. Our county has currently met 5 of the 7 metrics for opening up the area. They are talking phase 1 opening, construction, manufacturing and the like. I’m curious to know when I’ll get called back to work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still as nervous as ever about getting out of the house, but I need to connect with people again.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, we are in for a similar afternoon. It is supposed to rain (possible thunderstorms) this afternoon, but then the weather is supposed to improve for the rest of the week. Back yard is still somewhat mushy from all the rain. I understand about wanting to get back with people, and it sounds like the dealership has taken lots of precautions for both the workers and the customers.
Ruth, sounds like you had a nice Mother’s Day. When we first FT with youngest DGS he would run around the family room so he could show us his toys, he had just turned 3 when we went to Florida for the first winter. Now the boys sit on the sofa (the phone is on a stand on the coffee table) but DGD still moves around a lot but is getting better. I hate when I lose a message, I usually type my messages in word and then cut and paste.
We plan on ordering dinner out this evening, 1st time since getting home. We usually don’t go out on MD or FD, too many people in the restaurants. There is a Greek restaurant about 5 minutes from us, we have eaten there several times, so that is where I want to try. I have to leave at 10:30 for my PT. Bill has a tele-med appointment with his GI doctor at 10:00. The doctor has to see him periodically in order to renew his prescription. DS#1 suggested that we try to get together for an outdoor meeting soon. If the weather stays nice we might be able to do that next weekend, hope so.

Good evening all. I thought I’d get here earlier today, but it’s been a weird day. Not bad, just busy doing stuff.
Ok, yesterday ended a little weird. DD had ordered our dinners 3-4 days before the holiday. She was ticket #2 for that night. The place we were going to pick up our dinner has been in business for 80+ years. When we got there at 5:30 (our pick up time); the parking lot was jam packed with cars looking for places to park. People were getting food from the staff at the door; but there were about 30 people standing around, social distancing in the parking lot, some with masks, some not. When we heard that some of the people had orders for 4-4:30 and were waiting, we knew it was going to be an odd evening. After waiting over an hour; seeing some people get their orders, others still waiting, and more people showing up; one of the managers finally came out, said, he couldn’t believe he was saying it, but they were out of food. We heard about the time we got there that they were out of bread. He said they had done 4x the business that day than they usually did; and just plain ran out of food, red sauce, pasta, etc. He said the kitchen was a disaster area. He started with me (cause I was standing by the door when he came out) and took our order # and DD’s name and went on to take lots of others info. He said everyone out there would get a refund and they could just leave and call and leave their info if they preferred. I don’t know how many did what because we left. We were only about 15 min away from there when DD called to ask if we had gotten our dinner. I said nope! She had already gotten a call from them, apologizing profusely and saying she would get her refund. They asked her if she had gotten her food, and she said she didn’t know because it was her parents who were getting the meal so she gave them DH’s #. They left him an apology voicemail also. And then this morning, they had a very apologetic Facebook post. They said they just plain messed up and they were sorry and they felt badly about messing up people’s Mother’s Day dinners. They have over 100 replies tonight, and not one of them was negative! They are a class act for sure. DD is going to re-order our dinner for Thursday night, after they have had a chance to restock their supplies. We stopped and picked up a Papa Murphy’s pizza on our way home and that was dinner. Not what we planned, but we had options. I truly felt sorrier for their poor staff than I did for me missing my dinner. They were stressed to the max! I believe a lot of the problem was the ordering program they used. It would appear that no one at the restaurant had seen how many orders were piling up or put a stop to them when they reached capacity. And if they expected 5 people each 15 minute time slot; they had 30 for each! Shortly after we got there, the gals were taking people’s names and asking what was on your order. Like they couldn’t keep them straight inside for some reason. We never got that far, just gave them our name. Oh well, I think they learned a lot, besides how well thought of they are; and as Stan said, the manager should have been sitting down with staff today, asking what happened; what can we do differently next time; and how to make it right.
Had a gal pick up that order yesterday. Tonight I had a gal ask about 18 mo clothing. She was directed to me by a gal who works at the DQ in the town just north of us. She has bought a ton of kids’ stuff over the years for her grandkids. Turns out this gal is her niece and she recommended me and told her niece that my stuff is always in great shape. Told her how much I appreciated that. Turns out she wants 12, 18, 24 mo clothing. I have some of each. She’s going to come Wednesday and I’m going to set up on the front porch. I have a small hanging rack for the hanging outfits; and tables for the 3 sizes of clothing. We will both wear masks and I’ll just let her look and then only interact with her for the sale. Hoping she wants a lot of stuff. I’ll get all that ready tomorrow.
I did laundry today and did a lot of straightening up around here. Tomorrow I may also start on the 3 guest bedrooms. Would like to have them all looking nice. I bought new bedding for the downstairs bedroom and we need to buy a small bedside rug and new room darkening curtains.
Found out today that Bridging, the place I love to donate household stuff to is now open for donations. I will get together a load to take there. Hoping the place I want to donate a bunch of adult clothing to is open soon. I’ll keep watching.
Joy, we are to get rain for the next couple days too. DH & Maggie got a run in today because they may not be able to tomorrow. We want to get to a garden center too. DH is looking for lilacs and I’m not sure what else.
Dottie, I’m supposed to have a bone density scan the end of this month and a meeting with the sleep doctor the beginning of June. Will be interesting to see if they keep those appts or not. So many things may get moved to video or conference calls permanently.
Ok, going to finish up a couple things and hopefully get to bed on time. I’m not knitting for a while due to swelling in my left hand. So doing some reading instead.
