Debsback, Definitely try a different meeting, makes all the difference! π I joined some meetings that I didn't like at all, others that I really liked. The ones I didn't like had coaches that were not organized and didn't run a good meeting! π

I've been attending a variety of virtual workshops, mostly here in NJ with leaders whose overall approach appeals to me and including my regular workshop, which has a long-term substitute in place (our regular coach is a nurse, on-call 24/7 at Penn Health Princeton).
There was some fumbling in the beginning as coaches and guides figured out how to negotiate ZOOM, but most have settled in to the usual WW script and move smoothly from point to point.
There is one guy who coaches a 12:30 PM - so, a lunchtime - workshop. His attendance has dwindled to less than 6, counting him and the guide. But it's a LUNCHTIME group, and let's face it - those people have many other choices that may suit their shelter-at-home schedules better.
I've also attended a couple of different workshops by a guy who is not only a WW coach but has been A Presence on Connect and also hosts a podcast about weight management. One had over 280 participants. The other had over 80. HIS "draw" is his "fame" on Connect, so folks from all over the country are logging in.
I'm wondering how - or IF - WW is monitoring attendance and if so what impact those numbers will have on the future of the groups from which the VW were scheduled.

Diva, I believe when the coach lets us in the meeting it's recorded because you can see who is in the class. The long questionnaire to fill out at the end is a record of our opinions. I always take time to fill it out as I believe they may judge future VM on some of this documentation.π

debsback, I attend the 6 p.m. Monday meeting in Norwalk, Connecticut. You can search on "Norwalk, CT" on Connect to get the information to get to it. We have visitors from other states. Ivana is the leader and I think she is good.

It's not recorded. They'd have to get releases for all those faces. That's why we're not allowed to take screen shots, either. Privacy laws. I can see who's in the class by looking at the gallery view of Zoom or by looking at the participant list.
While I do fill out the survey, I know that many don't bother any more. And if I don't get the link after the workshop (doesn't come up if I use the kindle), I find the link in the appropriate group. Used to ask how many attendees; doesn't any more. I check out how big the group is out of habit.

It would be fun if a group of Pro Board people who do VM got together at the same meeting. Your thoughts?

I received an email from Mindy a short time ago. It does look like they are planning to open up the studios again, no timetable yet. I have attended the VM, my coach is still as much fun as usual. But there are fewer attendees as the weeks go on. Personally Iβm looking forward to studio workshops again, mask in place social distancing too. I miss so many of the regular members. Iβm 67, pre-diabetic and on bp meds. Iβm wondering if they would consider a studio/zoom workshop. You could either go to the meeting or attend virtually. If they continue VM only Iβd probably just do online only. I already did that - switched to online only. If I'm not going to be attending anywhere in person, and weighing myself on my own scale, it seems silly to pay the extra money. I didn't do the zoom meetings. If I'm watching the meeting on my computer screen, i think it would feel more like watching a YouTube video that participating with a group. Maybe I'm wrong and should give it a try.

amster, I would highly recommend trying a couple meetings. I had the same thoughts before I tried Zoom, it does take a while to get used to. I join at least my hometown meeting once a week and some weeks 2 or 3 more. I was struggling with eating today and instead of eating over points I got on a 11:am meeting, stopped the eating. I liked the coach today, some I have not liked as they struggled to run a good class. Some people are trying one meeting in each state. Hope you give it a try, come back and let us know! π Be safe! π±π·

amster, My meeting is lively, one of the guides has a big personality. My meeting is interactive, the members chime in.

I do believe they are listening, adapting to the new world is the only way to survive.
