Laura M, that article made me cry. The way WW let these workers go is just heartless. And, it doesn't bode well for the future of WW to do all of these drastic cuts. Of course, this is a business and their bottom line is money. I doubt WW will last if Virtual meetings are the only choice.

Laura M , Great article, thanks for sharing. I liked the part where the article talked about the older members and how they felt abandoned. That was how I felt when they start Freestyle, although it started with the change to Smart Points.

that is terrible! between WW and the way Bird did it, that is so heartless. a phone call from their actual manager should have been in order. not a blanket "hi everyone, you're all fired. see ya." for mass amounts of employees.

"We just wanted to remind everyone to please be sensitive to the fact that many of our message board members are WW employees that may be impacted by these financial decisions being made by WW. To our friends here that have been affected we are truly sorry. Deb & Rad" We have been pulling these links all week due to the fact we didn't want to appear to be rubbing salt in the wounds of our members here that worked for WW. itsrad I'll leave this one up to you as to whether enough time has gone by.

a phone call from their actual manager should have been in order. The firings definitely should have been done with a personal phone call, handled by the employee's manager. Add to that the fact that the audio feature was disabled during the call and the manager read from a SCRIPT?? No chance whatsoever of expressing any human feelings, either by the manager or the employee. How sad and how cruel. Condolences to all those who were subjected to this.

To further bolster our financial flexibility, we are implementing a $100 million cost-savings initiative. We continue to be excited about our long-term growth opportunities with our digital platform.” Sounds like they may be letting a lot of the brick and mortar workshops go. It would be a tremendous savings for WW. I wouldn't be surprised if as leases expire, they don't renew them.

Squid, I wouldn’t either. They may even start to negotiate early terminations on certain of their leases. Many companies affected by covid 19 are employing that strategy as part of their cost saving measures.
