How do you feel about your body image?

Definition: the subjective picture or mental image of one's own body. I'm fine with mine and I don't think of it that much. I know I am not completely believing that I'm thin because when I see people I think are thin I think "they are a real thin person."

My body image is actually more like when I was in HS though that is not easy to remember...or perhaps last time I was at goal. The only times I realize that I am no longer under 25 or under (physically) is when my body won't respond as it once did or I happen to see myself in a mirror. I guess our visual image of ourselves is not the actual in more ways than one.
I used to get upset when I saw that heavier person in a window or mirror but now embrace myself, accept myself and move toward that thinner me that resides in the garment that clothes me - my skin.

I donβt see myself accurately. Even though I see the scale going down and my clothes fit better I still see a larger person in the mirror.

I am admittedly vain about my bod. I am in great shape for 66 and probably look in the mirror too often.

lani, Vanity has its place. When I started to lose weight I would think I could have used some vanity to keep myself from gaining all that weight.
