Good morning. Woke up to a balmy 10.8 degrees! It's getting better!!!!!!!
Today I can KOKO and keep on flushing with the water. Friends came over with homemade potato chips and of course I was numero uno to dive in.......
Haven't stepped on the trusty wii, so no clue if I'm wearing it or not.

The Dr. called me in sinuse spray ,Dr. thinks I have Sinusitis but I really don't think so...Anyway I go to the Dentist Friday so we will see if it is a tooth or my Jaw .
Ann don't you just love chips , I know I do ...Actually I eat 40% less fat chips all the time....I hope you enjoyed them...
How: KOKO. The same here...

Feel better, Naomi. I don't blame you for taking the day off from exercise.
Just got off the wii...and yes, I am wearing the sodium! Up .5! Could have been worse and SHOULD have been worse. I'll take it and run with it.
Yes I DO love chips.....

Ann, thanks for the first guffaw laugh of the morning --- "a balmy 10.8 degrees" --- I am so glad I didn't have coffee in my mouth, or I might be heading to the store to buy a new keyboard. In that frame of mind --- we are having a heatwave --- 49 down here this morning. LOL I will be joining you on the water wagon.
Naomi, sure hope they determine what your jaw problem is soon. I am a lazy one this morning also. Took a nap at 5:30 yesterday evening, and consequently was up and down all night. Yes, sooner or later I shall learn --- after a long day, it is not a good thing to lay the book aside so early and rest my eyes.
Yesterday at the luncheon, I did really good. I only had half a po-boy, some raw veggies with dip, and some smoked gouda. I didn't taste the cake, and got so many funny looks from the Ladies. If she had offered me the uncooked batter, I would have licked the bowl --- but once it is cooked, you lose my vote.
How - lots of water, today am cooking liver and onions for DD with a huge salad. Even got some beets to roast.
Hope all who follow have a great OP day!

Good Morning!
Ann, Gee y'all have warmed up! Homemade potato chips? Are those like wing chips?
Naomi, I sure hope your jaw is ok. Keep us posted. Its supposed to be a warm day here so I NEED to exercise. I have not been getting in as much activity since the time change.
Bee, LOL heat wave! I love roasted beets! Great job at your meeting yesterday!
Got my shopping finished up yesterday and wrapped presents last night. I ran out of paper so I will make a dollar tree run in a little while. Drinking coffee and then planning a walk. My house needs some real attention. So over the next two days I am planning on doing some deep cleaning and throwing out. Will be a KOKO day.
Everyone have a great one...will CBL

Ann, thanks for getting us started. I stayed up late to read, and so I stayed down late to rest!
Ann- ohhh.... homemade chips... enough said! How nice to have such good neighbors. Any small, temporary bump on the scale is worth it for those. Water and all those extra steps to the bathroom will do the trick!
Bee j, that northern 10 degrees actually does feel warmer if there is no windchill in effect. If it were to hit 49 w/o the NO Polar air in play, then teenagers around here would shed their coats & wear shorts. DHs wouldn't wear their hats & gloves.... I kid you not! You did fantastic at the church luncheon. I wonder, can you roast canned beets? Anyone know? Enjoy your liver & onions, my mom made that dish when we were small.
Naomi- sorry to hear that your jaw is still hurting. Is it worse? Hope that you soon find relief from the pain. Let us know if the sinus medicine helps. Taking it easy is a good idea.
LaDonna- sounds like you will have everything under control for the holidays after your wrapping paper run. Love the Dollar Trees b/c you can make a quick in/out and find what you want at an affordable price. Also the best place to send a clueless DH for one or two items. Much easier for the staff to direct him to the right shelf! Enjoy another day off! Hope that you get in a walk.

Today: focusing on cleaning the house & planning a grocery run for tomorrow. My family is coming here on Saturday morning, b/c my niece & her wife will be visiting. Decided to just offer "snacks" rather than a cooked, brunch menu. Should be easier on everyone and just as enjoyable.
How: have to decide on a third snack to offer. When I texted that I would provide crab stuffed mushroom caps, cheese/crackers, & hummus/vegetables, my oldest sister decided otherwise. She said that she would bring tabolueh, hummus, & pitas. Ha ha ha... translation... she knows where she can buy it or where she can send her DH to buy it or she has it leftover. Oh well, the taboleuh is another added dish. And I can think of another tidbit that is low salt, has no Vitamin K, is low or no gluten, and that most will like. Plz send up prayers that DS does not drag out something a week old from an office party that she or her husband hosted. As a precaution, I think that I will send her a text asking where she buys it, since it is so good.

Bee so happy that you didn't need a new keyboard! If this warm trend keeps up I may just sit out in the screen room LOL. I love cake and cookie batter as well. Unfortunately I also love the finished product. Not too much that I don't like...sigh....
LaDonna I don't know what wing chips are. These are like store bought chips, only homemade complete with plenty of salt LOL...oh and fat. Not a diet delight, but delightful just the same. I'll be guzzling the water for sure!
LaDonna and June have fun wearing the domestic hat. Actually I don't mind house cleaning. I prefer to do it when Carl is gone as I can buzz around more freely. June, crossing my fingers toes and eyes that DS does NOT drag out a week old snack.
Time for me to get a move on here. I'm in the middle of laundry! Carl ran out of t-shirts. Oh that poor dear LOL......
Later!

Good Morning Thanks for our start Ann. Homemade chips are irresistible. Sounds almost like swimsuit weather where you live. Naomi, I hope the dentist can help you with your pain. Bee, great job at yesterday's luncheon. La Donna, have a good day. My house needs a deep cleaning today. The neighbors are coming this afternoon and unfortunately I just have time for a quick clean with errands etc. this morning. June, sounds like you and your DS are going to have a food battle over the meal. Yes, you should ask where she gets it.
My oven won't go on this morning and I need to use it. I was going to cook the chicken breasts for Skinnytaste enchilada casserole. I hope it is the breaker which DH will check after breakfast. This happened two months ago. This is just a minor worry. DH's former partner's house burned to the ground last night in a 3 alarm fire possibly started in the attic. It is a very large condo attached to another one but luckily for the other, separated by a firewall. They lost two of their three cats and all of their possessions including a beautiful art collection. They are in their mid to late 70s. I have to pick up food at the Italian and Armenian delis for our buffet Friday night. It may all be cold finger food if the oven isn't fixed. My neighbors come at 3 so lots to do beforehand.

Hi Ann. Oh, my. Homemade potato chips are the bomb! They make them fresh over at the Pavilion. I avoid as much as possible. LOL However I buy the Lay's oven baked chips and find that one measured serving is actually satisfying enough! Naomi - Feel better. Bee - That's rather cold for you, isn't it? Good job yesterday. I'm with you on the cake. Once cooked, meh. Well, unless it's German chocolate. Hmmm....Liver sounds really good. I just picked some up last weekend. Maybe tomorrow. LaDonna - Are you enjoying your time off? You are welcome to come deep clean my place! I got the guest bath done. I just need to vacuum the guest bedroom. The linens are clean but I may just toss them outside to air out as my niece and her bf will be staying with me Saturday night. The only other thing that really needs attention is the floors and I have all Friday afternoon for that. June - LOL on your sister. Fruit kebobs would be nice with yogurt for dipping (honey vanilla is particularly good) Audrey - How sad! Hope it's just the circuit. Enjoy your tea this afternoon. Can you do the chicken in a slow cooker? Today is KOKO. WI was fine. Going out tonight with friends - tuna tartar and seaweed salad so a bit of salt but otherwise very healthy. Got the menu for tomorrow's luncheon. Very heavy Italian dishes. Caesar salad is the only veggie option. However, their ribs are worth the indulgence. So I will plan on 2 of them, a little salad and have some raw veggie and dip at my desk.

Thanks to our son, an electrician will be here by the end of the day. DH fixed the breaker but it also happened before Thanksgiving. He wanted me to wait for the third time but I told him he could be eating raw meat Christmas Day. The oven is not very old but house was built in 1977 and some of the other breakers have been replaced. Back up plan was spaghetti tonight and a crockpot chicken tomorrow.

Audrey--glad that you could get the family electrician to make a house call and have a food back up plan. So deeply sorry that your DH's partner and his wife loss everything in a a fire. That's devastating at any age, but maybe harder when we are older. We aren't always as resilient as we would like to be. Sending them my prayers.
No food wars-- I know what my DS is like. She has a tendency to "hear" or not "hear" what she wants as she moves into the what's easiest on me mode. I can adjust, and will. My irritation was slight. My caution is much greater. So it all balances.
Ann, my sister has done it before. Oh my goodness... if you are smart, never, ever, ever use a condiment from her refrigerator. She doesn't seem to understand that those have a shelf life.

Okay--- decided that my kitchen needs inspected since I have been sidelined since July and last Saturday's cabbage rolls left my oven a little messy despite my precautions. Have mercy... The side of my oven was a nightmare when I pulled it out. I have absolutely no idea what or how DH slopped down the side of the oven or cabinet and I barely remembered that he broke one of my deep dish pie plates. Found some shards though. Any way, the self cleaning feature is working. I have scrubbed everything w/ some elebow grease and got into nooks, crannies, and corners. A woman's touch was definitely needed.
Deep cleaning w/ LaDonna while I sing w/ the Dobie Borothers.... and trying to ignore the smell from the oven. Guess it's better than the awful oven cleaning chemicals.

June, taking old food to celebration is not cool!! LOL sure hope this does not happen! I've gotten a few things done but haven't really started on the house yet. Just taking it slow:) Ann, wing chips are thin sliced potatoes deep fried. Some turn out really crispy while others, if sliced a little thicker, are a not quite as crisp but good. My DH is working out of town until Thurs night so cleaning will be a little more pleasant. Audrey, sad new about the fire and the poor cats - heartbreaking. Enjoy the time with your neighbors. Susi, It's nice to have some time off from work. It is going by so fast! Enjoy your evening sounds really nice.

Audrey not a good time for you oven to not be working. Hope that's all it is. Great job on a backup plan. (((hugs to the cats and fire)))
Susi enjoy your night out with your friends.
LOL June re: the condiments. I have a friend that is the same way. She is a real dear, however, I stopped eating at her house long ago, and now I invite her here at the LAST MINUTE as I don't want her to 'bring a treasure'!!!!!
Oh okay, LaDonna. I guess that I'd call these the same thing. I'm just happy that I don't get to see her that often. Chips are hard to resist, and as the commercial used to say...no one can eat just one LOL.
Well, girls, I now have to tackle stuff that I've been putting off for the last two weeks. In order to do that, I need to unplug.....
Enjoy your evening, all.
