Good morning all. Well I woke up to 10.8 degrees, so the weather is getting warmer LOL. It looks pretty out there.
Last night friends stopped over with homemade potato chips. Of course I just HAD to 'dive in'......not sure what if any damage I did as I haven't yet stepped on the wii.
Will CBL....hope all have a wonderful day!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day - AND Happy First Day of Winter!! It is also my last day of school for almost two weeks, so I am looking forward to our holiday break - and all the gatherings we will be attending and people we will be seeing in the next few days. A very happy time for me, as always.
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe this morning (don't worry about "backward"). Glad you got to enjoy the homemade potato chips. We pick and choose our indulgences - and that is as it should be. Sorry about your cold - we actually have 21 dg this morning with a predicted high of 35 (yep, above freezing).
Kathy ~ I will be thinking of you today with packers there. Just breathe, and remember this will all be over SOON! I do hope you got some rest and are not tiring yourself out too much, though how could you NOT with such a task at hand??
We went outdoors yesterday for recess and other than the wind, the sunshine and fresh air were very welcome by all. I only accompanied the K/1 classes, so of course their excitement is contagious. We will definitely be outdoors again today which is OK as it is "warmer" (everything is relative I guess). I had such a great day yesterday - and can only hope for another such one today. I have plugged in my iPod and listening to some of my favorite Christmas music here in my den and just finished hearing "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas" which always makes me smile. Now Karen Carpenter is singing. She was one of my all-time favorites and left us much too soon IMO!!
Since I posted all my news on yesterday's thread late yesterday (did you all notice we went to page 2?) I will go get myself put together so perhaps I can get some additional things accomplished today. I do have to go at 4:30 for WW WI and Starbuck's visit with VBF.
BBL. Make a great day!

yeah Sue on the beginning of Vacay!!!!!!! Enjoy your time away! And your HEAT WAVE. Send some warmth over, okay?
I agree Karen Carpenter left us way too soon. She had such a beautiful voice.
Time for me to get a move on. I'm in the process of doing laundry. Carl informed me that he had no t-shirts LOL.....poor dear....I'll see what I can do LOL

Ann, thanks for opening the doors. Homemade potato chips sound too good to be missed.
I don't believe in feeling guilty about food any more. It has gotten me nowhere. We make choices and we strive to make good ones most of the time. That's my sermon done.
Sue, we are supposed to get up to 37° today. Break out the flip flops! Glad you enjoyed lunch at Qdoba. I hadn't heard of that so I looked it up and there is one in the suburb east of us. I might have to try it.
Kathryn, I am so sorry to hear about your friend and colleague. You just never know what is around the corner.
Kathy, I really enjoyed the video and your birthday picture. Good luck today. Don't get too wound up. It will be over soon.
Judy, congrats on another loss.
Carolyn, it looks lots warmer where you are but foggy. I hope you can get your walk in.
I went to the doctor yesterday and he put me on Prilosec for a month to see if that lessens the chest pressure after I eat and I have to go for a gall bladder ultrasound on Jan 3.
I am getting my hair cut so I had better run. I missed my last appointment when I ended up in the ER, so I am Shaggy.

Not as cold this morning. 0930 and 27 degrees in NW Tn. Our VFW Post held a "Breakfast for Dinner with Santa" last night. Great turnout. A lot of kids got to talk with Santa. Was a lot of fun.

Always was great to finish school for vacation...kids so antsy.
I was supposed to see La La Land but spouse did not feel well.
Woke at six with weird dreams and gave up. Coffee in bed with snuggled dog. Poor hubby and dog, rain hit as they had just got down the street! Micki did his thing fast and they dashed back. He had a coat for warmth, but sure was glad to get to that electric blanket ...which has a thin blanket on top to protect it from dog nails. He us not budging.
pot luck Questors Christmas lunch later will be fun. Lots of food and white elephant gifts.

Good Morning:
Kathryn: I am really so sad to read about your friend. Very. My thoughts and prayers to you, your coworkers and especially to her family.
Kathy: I didn’t follow the link yet but I remember it. And LOVE it. Leia and her boots. Funny too because Ann posted about how Luigi is not a boot guy! Happy Moving Day Dear! Hugs and Strength. And OMG you have fudge in your house. Eeeek! I would be doomed! Doomed I say!
Sue: You know I was going to ask about your Cuddle Duds. (They should pay you as a spokesperson.) Yesterday I did a lot of sorting/divesting and didn’t find my skiing long johns. I think DH may have “requisitioned” them. So I am going to look into duds. I was thinking you had 2 types. One lined. One not. Today’s your TGIF!
Ann: Double digits! WooHoo! Yikes on homemade potato chips. I bet they were delicious. I was in a store recently and heard Karen Carpenter singing. People walking by mentioned her too. Such a beautiful voice that we noticed it even as shopping, background music. So sad.
Chele: Flip Flops for sure. Boy my kids think it’s hilarious that I grew up calling them thongs. I read your sermon. It’s a good one. I appreciated reading it because I struggle. Next time you preach it, if you include some sort of call to come to the front and confess, I’ll stumble up the aisle…watch for me…
Act: What a fun evening. Glad it’s warming for you too.
Judy: Happy Hump Day to You. I hope you get to take some days off for the holiday.
Someone asked about the mountain. Sorry I forgot who and need to hurry. Yes, it is Mt Hood. I took that shot with my phone on a walk one clear day. I'm grateful to be able to see the mountain on my walks--when she's not behind the clouds...
I didn’t get out to walk yesterday. But was busy on my feet all day. Got bags and bags ready to donate. Yes! Loving the warmer weather. Spent a lot of time in the garage yesterday and it was not freezing. We have a 2nd fridge in the garage and recently we’ve been sure the inside of the fridge is warmer than outside the fridge.
Off to the gym. Getting my hair cut too. Last time was July! Possible dinner out this evening. Anniversary: 42 years.

DHi all, and Happy Hump Day!
Sue, sounds like you are having fun with the kiddos at school, and I can only imagine how "hepped" up they must be! That is contagious for sure to be around all the little believers. I, too, LOVE Karen Carpenter's voice. I appreciate it more and more the older I get. So beautiful and so sad to lose her so young. I feel the same way about Jim Croce, Harry Chapin and lots of them in that era. Good luck at WI and have fun at Starbucks with your DF.
Ann, OMG--homemade potato chips would be my downfall for sure! I would dive right in and they would be gone in a heartbeat. As Carolyn feels about cookies, I feel about chips! Danger, danger, RED FLAG for me. Same with dips, crackers, cheese, etc. But, I love CHele's philosophy and I'm learning to be done with guilt. We pick and choose what we love. I am learning SO much from all of you. Best Christmas gift of all is wise friends!
I had a dinner out last night with my usual Monthly Monday dinner group. Fun to see them this week in the midst of all the holiday stuff. We go back a long ways now and they are dear to me. Another gift...I know just how lucky I am to have good health and good family/ friends. What else is there really? Good humor and enough money to be comfortable --not wealthy by any stretch, but fortunate as we all are here.
Kathy, I am thinking of you big time today with the move. By Christmas Eve, you will be resting in your new bed! Take your time unpacking and getting settled if you can...no sense in rushing.
Chele, I am sorry about the chest pain and hope that it gets solved soon. Also, having shaggy locks spiffed up always improves our outlooks. It makes such a difference in how we feel. I'd travel in a blizzard for that treatment. Thinking about Iggy's schedule exhausts me. Does he travel most of the time? When we lived in Dayton, my dad was an NCR manager (NCR ruled Dayton back then). He traveled all the time. He used to joke that the dogs were the only ones happy to see him when he returned since he had a house full of teenagers and a frazzled wife...lol!

Ann, I’d have gone homemade potato chips too! What a treat!!! I can pass on cookies, doughnuts, cake, candy, etc., but put a chip in front of me, and I’m going for it.
Kathy, happy moving day – hoping you can rest soon!
Sue, as a retired teacher, I know how exciting that last day before Christmas holidays can be. Enjoy your break!
Chele, I’m hoping the Prilosec works as well for you as it did for me. I rarely have to use it now, but during that period of chest pain, I was shocked that it was something that simple.
ACT, your Breakfast with Santa sounds like so much fun!
Lin, it’s great to see you! Your pup sounds like my Emma. During our cold snap, she stayed snuggled in her down comforter – not spoiled or anything!
Carolyn, Happy Anniversary!!!!!!
Judy, I have to agree on health and great family/friends are definitely best gifts ever!
I’ve gotten in my 6 miles with Emma this morning, and now prepping for our after-Christmas week out camping. Our daughter and son-in-law are heading to St. Augustine on a second honeymoon the week after Christmas so it’s a perfect time for us to head out vacationing too. We have some camping friends who are also going to come join us for a couple of days – should be so much fun! Even Emma THE PUP is excited!

Carolyn, have a wonderful Anniversary dinner out with DH. Wow, 42 years is awesome! It'll be 37 years for Carl and I this coming June!
Chele, I also refuse to feel 'guilty' about poor food choices. It IS what it IS. I track, turn the page, and move on (to the next good choice) LOL.....and sometimes that's not always the case....Chele, I hope the meds kick in and you are pain free. I had my gallbladder removed back when I was 19! I have the battle wound scar to prove it LOL. Now they do this so differently. I hope it doesn't come to that, though.
Judy, awesome that you got to enjoy some quality time with quality friends.
Kathryn great job on getting in your 6 miles. You are so diligent with your exercise. I fell behind in my steps these past two days. Today I more than made up for it. It feels to good be up and moving.
Well, time for me to unplug and get busy. I have lots of odds and ends to finish up. You know...all the stuff that I should have done two weeks ago, but didn't!!!!!!
Ciao

Hi Everyone! Wanted to check in tonight in case I don't tomorrow...I can't imagine I'll be sitting online tomorrow night, LOL. Everything went well, I think they were definitely stunned at how little there was to do, but we certainly couldn't have done the things the did...a couple of big mirrors and one ginormous picture, plus some odds and ends. We knocked over half of the estimate, so I was pleased. As much as I would love for tomorrow to not take the whole 8 hours they have estimated, at this point for it to not cost MORE than the estimate would also be good! Jeremy and I spent a little more time loading up the cars after they left with things we don't have to have tonight, and I am THRILLED that next week will not be spent making daily trips. I guess we might end up making two trips, but honestly, one might do it, too..then back the first week of January to turn in keys and stuff. Exciting! @u21queen put the nail on the head when she said *don't get too wound up, Kathy*....too late, I was a mess this AM, but have had a lot of down time this afternoon and have regrouped. I AM tired and have done too much, but I am also proud of what I have done. Now, if anyone is lighting candles tomorrow, let's keep me *unwound*...it has just felt like one thing after another here for months, we love this apt, don't think we could have done better for the price, so if it looks like it's exploding tomorrow night, I just have to stay calm...and figure out what else to get rid of, LOL! ann1953 The scale is still steady for me and it's certainly not because I've been so perfect. Like suewms said, I think we do choose our indulgences, and I don't beat myself up anymore either...when I think how I used to plow my way through the holidays, even on maintenance, and be sweating the Jan WI. But, there's no question but I still hope to one day eat less sugar. I was so achey this AM, and with everything known about sugar and inflammation these days; duh. AMEN, to Sistuh @u21queen's sermon! Sue, I hope your WI and visit with fun and successful! I don't have any doubts but that you will enjoy your vacay. Had a serious LOL about carolyn0506 and the fudge. There was only one piece left when Jeremy showed it to me, LOL, so I behaved and just took a smidge off a piece. If he can stay sober, I will not eat his candy! u21queen, I will be in my new life on Jan 3, so don't let me forget about your ultrasound. I had some gallbladder issues back in the day and I remember how frightening they were. Hope the medicine helps! Well, I am not surprised that Emma is excited when she lives with kca195! We got Leia home from the sitter/groomer and despite looking like a doll, she seems seriously grumpy, so I hope she's just tired after all the excitement. Jeremy is like a mother hen with her...just two weeks of him on vacation, right? But, he's going to drive her to Arlington tomorrow, and since she is a very unhappy traveler, I will just be grateful. Love what judy709 said about best gift being wise friends. It hasn't even been a year ago that I took ann1953's invitation to stop by for coffee, and I'm so glad I did! I hope I can take your advice, Judy, about not rushing. If I have any big wish for myself in the coming year it is that I quit operating my life like it's still on a time schedule...might as well start this weekend, right? I know I did everything in my power to have the *musts* to get through this busy weekend for J, and I'll just keep remembering that. See you in my new digs!
