Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Had a great time with DB and DSIL yesterday afternoon. They knew I was still iffy on the idea of a cookout so we decided on just Happy Hour. I walked to their backyard patio. They setup a separate table for me with chips and salsa, distanced from them. No masks. I had wine, I’m enjoying that a lot lately. We talked, laughed, had a very nice time. Most of all, I felt comfortable. That was a huge step for me.
I guess they are opening up hair salons next week. DSIL got a call from her stylist and setup an appointment for a haircut. She said stylist described how the salon would be run. They are a 5 chair salon, only 3 will be in use at any given time, stylist works on one customer start to finish before the next one. I’ll leave a message on my guys phone if it’s not full. Initially I thought I’d wait a while, but my hair needs shaping.
It’s already 70*, heading for a record breaking 90* today. To think, 2 weeks ago it was snowing... No walking for me today, it’s already past my comfort level. Basement puttering on today’s agenda. Nothing more than sandwich and salad, no cooking.
Ruth - sorry to hear about your upset stomach. Fortunately Tylenol works for me, I have problems with stronger nsaids too.
Dottie - sounds like you had a good weekend too. It’s nice to have a place to getaway to.
Enjoy your day.

Joyce, I was glad to hear that you had a nice visit with DB and DSIL. Hair salons can’t open here till June 20th or later. I will definitely need a shaping when they open.
Ruth, I’m with you about the Tylenol. It helps me but not much. Fortunately I can take naproxen – that really seems to help but can bother my stomach. Hope you are feeling better.
I planted some of my garden this morning. I need to get out and get some more vegetable plants. The ones I planted today came from DS#2. He grew them under a grow lite. The squash and cukes look very healthy. The tomatoes are still small so will have to wait to see if they do okay for transplanting. I have a telemed appointment at 1:45 this afternoon, my dermatologist. I hope we discuss starting to taper the med I am on for my psoriasis, so far my hands and feet are doing good, but don’t want to be on that dose if I don’t have to. It is cool and cloudy this morning but hopefully it will get sunny this afternoon.

Good afternoon all. Stomach still not feeling great. Not sure if I ate something or what the issue is. Just trying to wait it out at this point. Watching what I eat and drinking lots of water.
Joy, so nice you had a great visit with your DB/DSIL and especially that you felt comfortable. Sounds like they understood how you felt and tried to do things to make you feel better about doing the visit.
Dottie, yeah, even the arthritis strength Tylenol (650 mg) doesn’t do much. And the experts say tylenol is bad for your kidneys too. I’m wondering if the Advil was just bothering my stomach, so cut way back on that. I can’t cut it out totally or I won’t be able to move. Tomorrow I get the cortisone shot. I’m not running a temp at all and not “sick”, so will wear a mask and keep my appt. That should take away one pain anyway in my left hand.
It’s 76 here and very muggy. And we have the possibility of bad storms late afternoon into evening. They are saying we might have hail and we might have a stray tornado. Not looking forward to that. Stan got the board to fix DS’s wooden gate, but I don’t think we want to be out this afternoon. And DS said he had to go into work this morning. They are talking about opening up at some point.
Going to have a light lunch and then start working on one of the bedrooms. I want to get something done today. Have been texting with DS Carol while she’s at chemo this morning. I believe sometime in the next week or two she will have scans again. They will do body scans to make sure the esophageal cancer hasn’t spread; see if the tumors have shrunk at all; and check to see if the radiation she had shrunk the tumors on her lung. Scary times.
have a good day all.

And I made progress. You can see a big swath of carpet in the craft/bunk room upstairs. I was feeling better so went up there to work. Combined a lot of bins/bags of yarn - way too many projects started and needing work – found maybe 6-7 chemo caps started - a couple scarves - a cowl; those are organized into one big bin. Yarn not being used put into fabric bins that are in a wood unit. I put away all the two bigger girls’ laundry that we keep here for visits; found a bunch of 2T stuff Mara should be wearing right now; and took out 3 plastic rolling drawer units I want to get rid of. And I sorted their bookcase and re-organized it. The old “unofficial” librarian in me hates when the bookcase is a mess and books are all mixed up. And I brought down 2 big plastic bags of small plastic bags that I’ve kept for putting odds & ends of yarns that I want to keep In. Going to sort those while I watch tv and most of those are going. I’ve been using up a lot of the yarn scraps I was putting In those. Feels so good to get something done. Clouding up and getting darker and they are saying we have lightning around. More later!
