What is your thinking on protein in your diet? How do you manage it?

I think we should have protein in our diets. I don't think that it has to be from meat or even other animal products. I eat a fair amount of protein a day when you count the protein I get in my yogurt, milk, peanut butter, beans, and any meat I eat in a day.

Protein for me comes in pretty much as vegetarian/vegan options like beans, nuts, cheese, eggs and such. I have tuna once in awhile. I am not 100% vegetarian but pretty much at the moment due to the shopping we do and what is availalble
I probably do not get as much protein as they say I should but seem okay.

I eat protein at each meal. I’m actually afraid to have a meal without any protein because at some point in my weight loss journey it was drummed into my head that protein keeps you from getting hungry and helps repair muscle. I usually have it in all forms. Within the last year I’ve added protein shakes. They work well when I’m in a hurry or we’re traveling. They make for nice smoothies too.

I have read a few studies that state Americans in general get more protein than they need. I do have protein with each meal, but my focus is to get more fruits and vegetables into my diet.

I'm with lani on trying to get more fruits and vegetables in. I get a lot of eggs and dairy into my diet so I don't really worry about it. And I try to get plant based protein like beans and nuts as much as possible. I think the point of protein is satiety, which I am cognizant of when I'm meal planning.
