I'm IN.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
T-storms and torrential downpours added to strange dreams for both of us... it was quite a night in Toots&DivaLand.
Coffee... βββ... and prayer... and cooler temps for the moment... <aaahhh>...
πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ

Good morning all! We are back from our trip to west Texas. DH and I did a lot of work around our place and I'm sure I earned a lot of activity points for that! It felt good to accomplish a lot of what we had planned. Although the weather was hot, the lower humidity made it feel more bearable. There are a lot of positives to being "off the grid". We couldn't use our cell phones and we had no TV for 4 days so we had a news blackout. After catching up with the news last night, I'm ready to leave again. So much to be sad about in our country. I pray for calmness and reconciliation.
Whew, I'm glad it's Friday.

Morning all! Thank you for getting us going MJ sorry you had a rough night. Hopefully today will be calm and you can catch a nap. (I have a serious hard time picturing you napping though π€£) linda72 WELCOME BACK! *tosses confetti* glad you had a good time and got a lot done. That would be lovely to be off the grid for awhile. I am in. Have a great day everyone! βοΈβοΈβοΈ

I had the same storm at MJ from around 12:30-2:30. I'm in, planned, tracked and tired as Jack was a stinker and didn't come home until just before the storm started.

Good morning. Cloudy and cool today, storms predicted but only occasional sprinkles now. I'll pick some spinach and radishes today. Making some hardboiled eggs for egg salad and I have buttercrunch lettuce growing that I can steal a few leaves from too. Nice to have fresh greens right outside my kitchen door. We finally got our stimulus money in the form of a debit card. Massive PIA---I registered it and activated it online but when DH went to pull cash out of the ATM it said "INCORRECT PIN" and rejected the request. I went to the website and everything looked fine. So I called the 1-800 number and after 45 minutes and multiple shunts to different departments we finally got it straightened out. Oh, and they wouldn't talk to ME because DH's name is the FIRST one on the card. It seems that there was a problem on THEIR end and yes, I had done everything correctly but for some reason the PIN never was recorded on their end. But that didn't stop me from getting the message that said something like "OKAY! You are now ready to use your debit card!" when I finished registering/activating the card. DH has been pulling money out of the ATM for the past few days---there is a limit on daily withdrawals and today will be the last day of ATM withdrawals for us. The cash will go into our bank account and we will never have to deal with MetaBank again (the bank the government gave the debit card contract to) nor will they have our money in their coffers to invest. I just wonder what's happening to others who would not be able to navigate the crappola involved with this method of stimulus payment. Someone is making a lot off this deal and stands to make a lot more if people have trouble accessing their accounts. Rant over, have a nice day.

Linda, Good to hear you had a good trip, missed you!
Good morning. I'm in.
Beautiful day here with sun, we could get some much needed rain this afternoon.
We finally received our stimulas check made out to both of us a couple weeks ago. We haven't cashed it yet because the lobby of our bank is closed and we don't like using the drive though. Hope it cashes.
We are having a rally here in our town tomorrow, may be trouble in paradise after the rally.
It's going to be a great day for a beach cruise and people watch! ππ
Be safe! πΊπΈ

Good noon! I'm in. Our county is officially open today in yellow mode. My spouse was notified that the work-from-home status will continue until July 15th. Um, just wow! We have another muggy, stormy day on tap but, the rest of the weekend should be beautiful. I'm making chicken Waldorf salad for dinner using white grapes and walnuts. I also love chicken salad with crushed pineapple and sliced almonds. linda72, so glad you had a nice getaway *waves* Have a great day everyone!

TGIF! It's been a week.
So, there has been some major family drama going on. The wife of one of our nephew's decided to take it upon herself and drive through a group of peaceful protesters that were crossing a street, in the cross walk, in broad daylight and then drove off. There were a few minor injuries AND she had her daughters in the truck (11 and 2). I am beyond disgusted at her and want nothing to do with her ever again. She is NOT welcome in my home and I will never attend a family gathering where she might be. My husband on the other hand is willing to give her a second chance. THIS DOES NOT DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE! She drove around 3 lanes of stopped traffic into a peaceful group of people crossing a street because she was inconvenienced for a few minutes. She has been charged with a felony (assault with a deadly weapon) and a couple misdemeanors. I was physically sick for a few days over this. I am OK now, but it has really opened my eyes to the closed mindedness of some people.
So that's where I'm at. I am angry, I don't know what to do, I feel like I have let my black and POC friends down. I will always stand up for what's right.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Positive energy to ALL!

my stimulus came direct deposit to my account so luckily no issues. my ex got a check mailed to him but that's because as a partial 1099 income and partial W-2 last year, he owed taxes so they didn't have direct deposit on file for him since he paid them. but he got a check with no issues.

Also sending hugs neen , that's so awful. finreporter , that's really great that you can do that. I'm not sure what the company has in mind for the long term but, I think they are waiting to see their best way forward.
