Amy you really do it a lot (of good things). Did your shakes come?
Waving to Debbie.
Tomorrow is Maddie's surgery. Poor thing. Exercise will slow down a bit for the next couple weeks.

Hello! Thanks for starting us Amy! Sorry I was mia for several days. It turned out that I had the flu. My fever got up to 102.8 on Saturday, at which point I took a naproxen. Today my temperature seems to be stable so I'm back at work.
My WI for saturday was 177.0 so up a little. But golly gee, thanks to the flu, it's down now! So I need to keep it that way maybe even lose some more by the weekend. I think it's the first time I've weighed less on a Monday than on a Tuesday in years, maybe ever! But surely there's a better way to lose weight on the weekend than getting the flu, lol!
Amywho, I don't feel much like eating so might as well take advantage of it!
Mo, WTG, you did the first big step -owned up, fessed up, now the only direction is up! And by up I mean down, lol, as in your weight!

Amy, any reason for becoming a vegetarian (something I tend towards anyway)?
Brenda, poor Maddie! I wish her a very successful surgery and a short, uneventful recovery!
I'm going to try going to the gym today after work for weights and spinning.

Hey, btw, thanks for new challenge! I just noticed the change and I'm all for it! My goal: to lose 30 pounds by June, when the whole family, including Jeremy's new girlfriend, all go to the beach for a week!
My unusual lack of appetite has me eager to eat only clean foods and get enough weight off by vacation to fit into some of my slimmer, fun summery clothes!
Of course I'll still need to lose another 15-20 pounds but I think I could do that by December! It's amazing what not gaining over the weekend can do for your self-esteen -even when it was only due to being sick.

i think it is philosophy and also for health. Bringing down the budget. More fruit and vegetables with fiber and tasting delicious. I have no idea how fast I will lose but getting 10000 steps a day helps. will weigh in wednesdays, i gave myself 42 points weekly a week So I use 30 as the base with 10,000 steps and 42 weekly points, Like we used to. I don't go over points this way. I may not use from this past Saturday. But in a week I want to see if I lose.

Good luck Amy!
For anyone who likes pumpkin, my sister found this unusual but very tasty pumpkin soup that's super easy to make and very healthy. It calls for organic products but use can use regular. You can use olive oil instead of coconut oil if you prefer. As weird as this recipe sounds (at least it did to me), it was reeeeeally yummy! You can use the equivalent of 32 oz (4 cups) of chicken broth/bouillion instead of the boxed broth or you can use veggie broth or water.
Pumpkin Black Bean Soup
- Heat 2 T. organic virgin coconut oil - Stir in: 1 red bell pepper, chopped; 1 medium to large onion, chopped; and 2 large garlic cloves, minced. - Cook for 5 minutes or until soft. - Stir in 1 teaspoon ground cumin. Cook 2 minutes more. - Add: 1 15 oz can Eden Organic Black Beans with their liquid; 1 15 oz. can Weggies Organic Canned corn including the liquid; 1 15 oz can Weggies Organic Pumpkin 1 32 oz. box Pacific Organic Free Range Chicken Broth 1 8 oz can organic Tomato Sauce 1 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Freshly ground pepper to taste A couple of diced fresh hot peppers to taste or a pinch of dried ground ancho pepper or cayenne to taste Freshly squeezed juice of one lime Lots of fresh cilantro (to taste) -Heat and simmer covered for approximately 25 minutes. (-OR- put it all in a crock pot on low for the day.)
Serve with thinly sliced fresh avocado and a dollop of plain full fat goat's milk or greek yogurt on top as well as additional minced fresh cilantro and fresh lime wegges. If you like, you can serve it also with nachos and cheese.
