Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Today is going to be a steamy day. Woke up to 75*, heading to 90. I can feel the humidity even with the AC on. Will definitely spend a good part of the day puttering in the basement. I have stuff that needs to be moved to the garage, will organize that so that I can actually move it of Friday.
Ruth - that’s good news on Carol. Keeping her in my prayers. It’s nice to hear that Mara is spending time with you, I know you enjoy it but also know it can be tiring. DSIL has a friend that works at competing Ford dealership and they are doing extremely well too. It just seems that “by appointment only” attracts people that are ready to buy, not just looking.
Dottie - separating those bulbs sounds exhausting. The gardening bug skipped me. My mom and dad enjoyed gardening, we had a beautiful flower garden in both the back and front yard when I was growing up. My dad planted veggies behind the garage. They were always outside. DB enjoys puttering in their yard too. Not me. I tried gardening years ago, ended up pulling everything out. That’s when I started hiring someone to do it.
Restaurants are opening for indoor business next Tuesday. I was talking with one of the servers yesterday. She said 25% occupancy, 4 servers will be working. She wasn’t sure about needing reservations but thinks they should to avoid too many people being turned away. If you asked me a month ago I would have said it would be a long time before I dined in, but I’m changing my thoughts on that.
Enjoy your day

Joy, I do enjoy being outside and working with my flowers and my small garden. These bulbs are very dear to me. When my boys were about 6 and 8 they found some daffodil plants on some vacant grounds. We figure since it was a few weeks after Easter someone had them for Easter and then threw them out. They brought them home to me. What started as two small planters (about 6 to 8 daffodils in each) has turned into way too many. Plus it is necessary to separate them so they bloom better. This is something we only do every 8 to 10 years. Both boys have some of the daffodils at their houses also.
Ruth, that is great that you DS and DIL were able to sell the car. Do you or some family member have AAA, you could have the car that isn’t running right towed into the dealership. Hope you have good weather when older DD and family visit on Sunday. It is nice that they are making the trip and of course they would want to see Mara. Hope Carol continues to get good news about her tests.
Yesterday I finished booking our family cruise for next summer. We were originally on the second deck with only a port hole. They rebooked us to the 8th deck with a balcony and an additional $625.00 in on board credits. I hope it will be safe to travel by then. I was looking for something in the basement and decided there was a lot of stuff there I didn’t need/want. I put everything in a big box and as soon as the thrift stores open up I’ll take the stuff to them. I just need to keep the stuff hidden from Bill till then. He might think we should keep some of it.

Good very late evening! I know I got on here earlier today, but think I got distracted and just now dawned on me I hadn’t posted yet.
DS Carol told me today that she & her DH had discussed her scans. She wishes they had been really really good or even bad news. She’s not happy with her doctor being happy with the status quo. She wishes he was looking into drug trials and other places to see if there are new drugs out there for her type of cancer. Stan said he thinks most drs are happy with cancer not getting any worse. I kind of understand where she’s coming from. Told her maybe they need to contact the oncologists in Houston and ask them these questions and maybe even contact Mayo or Cleveland Clinic and start doing some research on their own. She’s tired of the side affects of these drugs, the issues with her feeding tube; and she just had a surgery for a fistula and the dr has now told her the drains might be permanent, and she said she’s now incontinent and she wasn’t before the surgery. So she’s really unhappy about that.
Joy, I’m with you - that gardening bug totally passed me by. Some is that we were forced to work in a huge veggie garden growing up and I hated it. And some of the produce gave me bad eczema on my hands and we had to go down in a cellar with mice to get the canned goods or the potatoes and things they kept there. I love flowers, but I don’t want to deal with them. A couple hanging baskets or a patio pot are about the extent of my gardening. Which reminds me, I need to call the gal we use last fall.
I got downstairs today and got most of the family room cleared out. I got the donate / sell stuff sorted and now a lot of it is in the bedroom down there, but is more organized. And I was looking for a certain file in there and I found a ton of stuff that could be recycled. So a diaper box of paper went to the bin. And I pulled about 6 years of tax records to go thru and toss. I thought I was doing a good job of one in / one out; but apparently not.
Older DD/DSIL/Kira will be here Saturday, as will younger DD’s family, and Mara. We haven’t seen anyone but older DD in her family since Christmas. She was here in late January for DH’s heart surgery. And she got to see Mara then too. And younger DD’s family saw Kira & Zach a few weeks ago when they got her bass. Hoping Zach can come with; DD said if he didn’t have to work he’d be here. Sawyer loves Zach so hoping he can come. Don’t think he’s ever seen Mara.
Tomorrow we’re meeting DS at CarMax to see if they will take his Versa. Right now even a few hundred dollars is better for them than a tax write off. And then DIL’s car needs to go. Both those cars will need to be towed. They and we both have AAA. We have the upgraded one so if they need us to use it for one Of the cars, we will.
We will bring Mara home with us tomorrow and keep her until Sunday. DS has a therapy session and has to go into work on Friday and DIL will be sleeping because she works that night.
Ok, going to bed shortly. Need to get a few things done (vacuuming & dusting downstairs) before we leave to meet DS. I think we are just there for moral support. And then to follow him home and get Mara.
more tomorrow, hopefully earlier in the day.
