Yesterday was such a stressful, bad day. Steve helped a friend tear down a porch on Monday. His back had been hurting every since. So I had to take Emilie to her breakfast/rehearsal at 10am. Its 25 minutes to get there supposed to be an hour. So no point driving all the way home just to turn around and go back. So ibrought a book and read while I waited. My boss was ok about it but messaged me privately that I need tpo work over to make up my time. I ended up talking sick time instead. It took 3 hours!! While I was doing the Zoom call ewith my Mum and sisters Emilie confess out with out her cap and gown. She goes back in and they say she will get it tomorrow because they rented them! Ok how will I get pictures if they dont give us the C&G? So they gave it to her. Now she has lost her phone. I'm trying to call it while still on Zoom. But thus time Mum was off the call. She stayed maybe 5 minutes. Emilie goes back in to find her phone, ir want in there. As a teacher she were walking back I noticed it wad on the dash of the truck. Ok crisis averted and late getting back to work.
Work is busy, cant concentrate. 4pm I sign off tio get Emilie and go to Hair appointment. I tell her to get a mask and come on. Halfway down the road I ask her if she has her mask. Nope she forgot it. I had an extra in my purse for just this reason. On the way to the haircut Steve calls to ask where is Charlie ( 7yr old shitz hu poodle) dont know. He wasn't out side when I pulled out. I drove the truck in the morning and took my car to the hair appointment. I told to check the truck. Yup Charlie was in the truck for over 3 hours!! He has s habit of jumping in the truck when we get home. Emilie left him in there. The truck wad on the garage so at least it was not in the sun but 3 hours!! She used to encourage him to get in the vehicles after we got home. Here got in on her side Daisy jumped in my side and I got her out. Omg I wad almost afraid to get my haircut but I trust this stylist. I've been going to her for a long time.
I love my hair and Emilies. Hers looks really good. They tried to talk her out of dying it black but her mind is made up. She wanted it dyed for today but that just didn't work out.
For dinner Steve an I went to a little Mexican place and had s relaxing dinner.
I've got to get moving. I'll try and come back later.

Sue ~ Thanks for starting us off this morning - YES, feels like a title meant directly for ME - Stating Over for the Final Time - FINALLY!! LOL Like FINALLY I will get back on track!! LOL Just teasing... thanks again for starting us off.
YAY for getting out of town! I am jealous - for sure... enjoy the weekend! Safe travels ♥
Today is my window day - unless I get a call shortly telling me again they are not coming... I am not even excited this time - I am anxious over it instead... No time to get caught up now, need to go get dressed, and move the DR Table. I'll be back in a bit ♥

Good Morning Everyone - late start here but I am OFF today so all is well!! DD24 is going to work with her client. DH is going to work as usual. AND I am going to do some weeding (if my back doesn't bother me too much) and putter around before picking Cheryl up for a Drive-Thru lunch. We will find a picnic table outside down at the Beach. Love impromptu days like this! Sun is out but cooler temps still...maybe they'll be wrong and it will hit 70 after all! Sue - HOORAY!!!! OMG I was so happy to see your post! SO HAPPY for you!! ENJOY!! Jo - wow! What a day you had. That is crazy frustrating - every thing you tried to do went sideways LOL UGH. BUT happy for you to finally get your haircut and Em finally got her graduation underway plus allowed the hair stylist to cut her long hair. Does the length on her look good?? I bet it does! Yep, I can feel your angst about the MRI - remember, it's just the test. The results will need read by a radiologist and sent to your doctor who will then review before letting you know...just plan to relax during the procedure (it's loud, I know!) but your plan sounds good to rise early, eat a good breakfast of protein to hold you over, then work that morning. I checked where Madison, OH is and it's not far for your DS to drive back and forth. Just kinda odd, being older, that she would decide to do that. I get tired easily!! lol Do you and your sisters go to Geneva-on-the-Lake? It's this side of Madison and has beautiful wineries and cute boutiques. I was just thinking of planning a Girls Day there with my DDs, DSIL, DN and maybe DM.

Carole - hoping your window arrives today! I forgot tonight is the gathering for RFL - this is being at your Sisters house, right? Hoping it goes as planned and your family feels stronger being together. Tim, Jaclyn and Eden are sleeping in Tracy's trailer, right? I'm surprised Jaclyn would sleep out! LOL Let us know how it goes...
Gabrielle - oh, I didn't know your DS20 moved out! I wouldn't mind if both my Girls did the same BUT it is costly and with both in Grad school with large debt already from college, I just need to bite my tongue and ride this out for a short time - then BOTH can launch under 2 years! It's a tough one but really, 2 years is not that long (I hope) lol Work is so odd, right now. It is a different schedule anyways during the summer...DL is flitting around (no mask) being loud and pretentious (and dangerous if you can ask me) and the Prince suddenly appears then disappears...he ALWAYS wears his mask which is comical as most times he is by himself in his large office - I wear my mask if I leave my office as I don't know if I will pass anyone in the halls or in Staff Lounge. So, yesterday, the Prince suddenly appears in my office and disregards the huge project I'm working on (end of the year State report) to tell me I'm to set up Summer Session TESTING - he wants MAP done for as many students as possible, schedule students in groups of 5-7 to come to the school, social distancing/masks, and take TWO one-hour computer tests to measure Growth and Achievement. Umm??? I tried to reason with him and suggest we do the SCREEN for Progress and data for placement next year. Nope. He wants the lengthier test. He was quite taken aback I told him it may not work out that way - kids and parents are totally stressed and may not respond to his request they all come in on scheduled dates - it will be a long summer SIGH

Good morning! Thank you to the dogs (who rule our lives), DH and I actually got to "sleep in" 30 min longer ---until about 5:30 or so! Neither of us had a run this morning so it was nice. Today is supposed to be a little cooler and this morning is already feeling that way---looks to be a nice day in the weather department. It kind of hit me yesterday--how exhausting all of this has been with planning for schools, etc. I think that I take it all on when (in reality) I don't control it and districts will do what they want to do. We have a huge contingency of districts that want to tell families we are going back as usual (in terms of 5 days/week, # of kids on campus). Our county doesn't have a lot of cases, no one in the hospital, zero deaths. I feel like June 15th is too early to call it. Anyway, it is pretty crazy to watch.
Had another good day yesterday eating-wise and made another vegan dinner. I think I mentioned it before...the cookbook I FINALLY found "Isa Does It" is such a good cookbook--most everything we have had from it, we have liked. I have another mediterranean cookbook that I want to try but every recipe takes about a pound of tomatoes and I am making sure we have good, ripe tomatoes before then. I finally feel like my pantry has the ingredients I need where I can pick up a vegan cookbook and make something--kind of like getting set up for WW...you know what I mean? Anyway, I am feeling much better about all of it. The only night I had meat was taco night--ground turkey. We'll see what happens with the scale and all of the vegan things (lentils, beans, tofu, etc)---I think it will be good though.
So, I booked my flight to Burbank (So CA)...leaving late on 7/3 and flying back on 7/6. Burbank allows you to deboard from the back and the front (and so does Sacramento) so I will sit toward the back and by a window and will move seats if needed to make sure I am not crowded by people...fortunately it is a short flight. We will see how it goes--I have high hopes though.

Carole: So, are the window guys there now? I hope so! I have great hope that you will get them today! I will be thinking of you with the Relay--I tried to make a donation last night but the site said that it wasn't working right so to try later. I will try again today. I am SO glad that it is all at your sister's--you will all be more visible to the public (more donations as a result, I hope) and you can come home to a quiet house. Hugs to you today...I would be walking right beside you if I could be there.
Sue: So happy for you--have a great trip! I look forward to the pictures and hearing about the good time you will have. I am SO glad that you didn't throw in the towel on this trip
Jo: Wow, what a crazy, frustrating day you had! I am sure that Emilie was excited/distracted, but you really had your patience tried. Yes, sounds like taking some sick time was the solution. So glad that had the hair appointment though and ended the day with a nice dinner! Hope that today is a good day--how is Steve's back? Hope that is something that only requires resting the muscles....back pain is just awful. Yes, I have anxiety about flying, but I think that I will for every single "first" post-COVID and I am probably going to need to fly somewhere before next year (when the vaccine is out)....so, it is what it is. I am glad it is a short trip

Shelly: I am so glad to hear that you are getting away for the weekend! And with family! Enjoy yourself and we will "see" you when you return.
Christine: Wow, I am floored about the Prince's plan for testing. Yes, I think it will be interesting to see how parents react to sending their kids. When is the deadline for all of this to happen? So the focus we are taking as an accelerated learning focus. Kids will start their grade-level work and teachers will pre-assess all skills needed (especially those from the previous grade level) to be able to master the standard. Teachers will then teach the necessary pre-requisite skills. This will be an effort to teach grade level standards at the same time as hitting on the "unfinished learning" from the previous grade level. This will take a LOT of planning and collaboration, but it is a recommended focus --- and we are letting our teachers have a break over the summer to refresh themselves (families too). I am floored by DH walking around without a mask...shame on her! SO glad that you have the house to yourself and you have the day off---YAY!! Hope that it is a good one---and don't hurt your back!
Hello to Jenny, Lisa, Nadine, and all who follow. I am hoping for a catch up day today for work. The Federal reporting system is FINALLY supposed to open today (usually opens in May) and we still only have until 6/30 to get everything done (thanks so much Federal Government) so it will be a scramble on top of everything else-- the hardest thing is reporting at-risk student progress...really tough this year. Anyway, we will do our best and then, if audited, they will get an earful.
Okay, time to go. Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning
What a week I've had and it sounds like other's here have had a similar week as well. It started on Tuesday I got out of bed and pulled my back muscle and it really hurt bad in fact it still hurts just not as bad as Tuesday, then I had to go to the Elk plant instead of my new place where I'm training at, but that wasn't so bad. Then on Wednesday I went to the new plant and started to get set up and I couldn't find any of my stuff or Icon's, so I had to call the help desk and I was on the phone with the guy for 2 hours and he couldn't get me set up at all, so I finally had to call the dispatcher in Corvallis and he got me onto the place I needed to be and then yesterday we were really busy and I forgot to call our customer to let him know his rock is on the way and the driver set up on the job waiting for 1 1/2 hours before the customer finally came so I felt bad about that and had a little melt down at home last night and cried. Today I'm at my usual plant and I'm just tired of this week. The good thing is I'm down another # this week so I'm going to stop and get pizza on the way home and get a bottle of wine and just welcome the weekend. It's going to rain all weekend and next week so it is what it is.
Carole that was nice of them to send you cookies even though you had a ruff time with the whole ordeal. That's nice of you giving up the little girls clothes to someone who needs them. I'm with you Carole I don't really like working with other people because of all the drama that can take place, it's distracting from what you need to focus on. At my work they hired 2 new scales tech's and I'm thinking "why" we have plenty. And, of course they are really young skinny blonds, they are very nice but here I am thinking the only reason they hired them is cause for eye candy for all the upper management men to look at all day. So misogynistic!!!

Sue thank goodness you get to go to NC, I'm sorry you had to sweat that out not knowing and you've been looking forward to this trip. I would of been pi$$ed off to. I don't think that's right for them to furlough you then expect you to be at their beck and call, it's just not right. I hope you enjoy your time with family.
Did I mention one good thing that happened this week is Audrey finished her final's week and got all A's and 2 B's and her GPA is 3.81 which is so great She's now officially a Senior but with that it does make me sad cause next year she's off to college
Jo what a week you have had, so sorry. I'm so glad they moved you MRI up cause that 's the last thing a person needs is to be told scary news and then have to wait to have a procedure done. Poor Charlie, I hope he was OK when he got out of the car. I got my hair trimmed last weekend and it does feel better. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and can unwind.
Christine how's the new furniture working out? Sorry you had a day of wandering around just to try and get some work done. That's funny about the prince, you shut him down with a great explanation of why you don't think that will work, after all, it's been a very weird year and the kid's are finally out for summer, they aren't going to want to come in this summer and do testing, just let them be kids I say and deal with that stuff in the fall. Wow to those people thinking Karly is a babysitter, that's just wrong.
Gabrielle I'm going to have to go look for that cook book and cook some yummy meals. That's so great of your niece to have you and your sister help her celebrate with the new baby coming, I don't blame you for being leery about flying but I did hear on the news that they are no longer letting people sit in the middle seat of the plane's anymore and I hope they are checking temp's of those flying as they board the plane to make sure no one is sick. I know Oregon has had about 164 new cases this week but most of them are in Newport Or on the coast in a fish cannery packing house which can be expected since they work so closely together. Good for you getting the pantry set up for healthy quick dinner for you and Ed.
OK gals I need to go for now have a great weekend
Jenny

Good afternoon - Well this took all day to get back to! OY VEY!!
Window crew arrived just after 9... a crew of THREE! No wonder when 2 called out they couldn't come! UGH The salesman had told me a "whole crew of 6", well, ummm, ok... NOT! LOL I don't care these three guys are the nicest - and cleanest - and best workers I have seen in a long - LONG - Time! They thought they would be done by 3 (latest) but - oh well - they ran into a bit if an issue!! No surprise there... nothing is "square" in a 120+ year old house - trust me, we know this! LOL Anyway... it is going well, and they are finished up inside, just finishing the roofing shingles out there now.
I LOVE IT! It does cut some of the sun coming in - I knew it would... and today not being a very sunny day anyway, I guess it makes sense! OH well - I still LOVE IT!
Day has been "off" all day... Tracy came home and did NOT go to bed like I thought she would. Add to that she brought Zoë home with her... Then after lunch Eden called and wanted to come up to swim - so we said yes, but then my sister dropped.her.off.! Didn't stay to swim WITH her... so my plans sort of took a backseat to everything else. No big deal - just not what I expected for my day home!
I did get my luminaries done for tonight - hoping Tracy and the girls head down soon to get the bags done and candles placed... I am trying NOT to go down "too early"- just want a few minutes to myself before joining the family/team!
Well now all three girls have descended upon my space - so I am out of here for now!
