Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Heading to work soon. Will spend the morning doing my weekly paperwork.
Ruth - sounds like you are ready for today. I like cupcakes but it’s so much easier just to bake a cake. Mara must have been hungry. I remember eating silver dollar pancakes at restaurants when I was a kid. That was my go to breakfast.
Dottie - I hope you enjoyed your book.
Such a beautiful morning. It’s 60*, heading to 68. I wish this nice weather would stick around.
Bbl ... Enjoy your day

Joyce, have a good day at work. We are having similar weather to you. It was 59 when we got up this morning and not supposed to get out of the 60s. It is nice and sunny out. Ruth, Mara is at a cute age. I think a lot of little ones will do that, one day eat everything they see and then for several days only a little food. She sounds healthy, so that is the main thing. Have a good time with your family visit today, hope you have good weather. Hope the car situation is finished next week. We are heading up to the lake shortly. DS and family aren't coming today. They are working on some projects at home and want to get one of them finished. We don't plan on staying overnight, we just want to get some things done up there that are difficult to do when the kids are there. Yesterday I got rid of several empty boxes and more paperwork that didn't need to be shredded, I hope I can do a little bit in the basement every day. Since we will be heading into a new phase on Wednesday the thrift stores will be open and I have several bags/boxes ready for them. It will feel good to get that out of the house.

Had a good day at work. Finished my paperwork and a few minutes later the sales team started their work. Again, lots of new sales and deliveries today. Found out that we’ll start getting more inventory on the 23rd. New girl starts getting her hours back starting 2 weeks from Monday. She’s looking forward to getting more hours, I’ll have someone to help with the phones in the evenings. Win-win ...
I’m thinking of trying a few recipes I saw members post on Connect. One is a potato crusted quiche. I found one that I can make in my small casserole baking dish. I’m going to fill with mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Sounds interesting. I should eat potatoes with eggs more often, doesn’t cost me points and makes eggs more filling.
See ya tomorrow.

Good late evening (again)!!! We had a wonderful day with all the kids. Even DS made it out after they found a car to purchase and took care of the paperwork. They or Stan & DS will go finish it up Monday and DS will drive it home. They are having the other car tuned up that day because they thought they’d be driving it up north on their 3 day get away. They are going to have their first non-work or non-marathon get away since Mara was born. Anyway, Mara was in the high chair finishing lunch when she spotted her daddy and hollered “Daddy, it’s Daddy”!!! She was facing that direction and saw him before anyone else. I think everyone had a great time. Joy, I ended up just buying a small sheet cake at the grocery store yesterday. Was chocolate with chocolate frosting and everyone enjoyed it. We were set up for food in the family room downstairs and Stan put up the shelter and we had enough chairs and it all worked well. The kids were able to play on the swing set and on the big swing thing we have. Everyone visited; had enough to eat; and both DD’s families left about 3:15 and then DS left about 5:00. Stan & DS got the backyard all put back in order; everything put away that needed to come inside; I have run the dishwasher once and unloaded and it’s reloaded for tomorrow. Stuff is mostly put away. I’d like to keep that family room open and finish cleaning it up. Baseboards need vacuumed and things like that.
Hopefully when they get back they can get DS’s old car towed on Friday and maybe DIL’s on Sat and be done with it. Tired of thinking about cars for them and us and anyone else!!! Seems all we’ve done for 2 years!!!
ok, going to bed shortly. More tomorrow!

Good afternoon,
Just came back from church. They had it in the gym. Very organized. The chairs were setup in groups, I got a grouping of 3 for us. Distancing was perfect, everyone wore a mask. Missed the choir, but they aren’t allowed to sing yet. Hopefully be back in the church next month. It was nice, good to see familiar faces.
It’s just good to get back to routines, no matter what they are.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, I was happy to hear that you enjoyed church and felt very safe there. We enter a new phase this week but still no gatherings over 50.
Ruth, glad to hear that you had nice weather and your family get together was a good time for all. Nice that DS could visit with the family also. Sounds like the car problems are almost gone, hope so.
We had a busy and productive day at the lake yesterday. We picked up a frozen pizza on the way home and cooked it when we got home – I was too tired to make anything else. Both our recycling and trash bins are almost full. We brought some things home from the lake for both bins. We also went to the dump this morning. We dropped off an old DVD player, some scrap metal, some oil and 2 big bags of leaves/grass. Those little things can make a difference in how things look. We both have been working outside today, beautiful weather, low 70s. It was in the low 50s when we got up.

Good evening all. Joy, nice that your church figured things out. Do you go to the same church as DB/DSIL? Expecting a busy week at work? Do the electricians come tomorrow?
Dottie, sounds like you had a productive trip to the lake. There are times when a frozen pizza is about all I can deal with too. How long will your PT continue? Do you feel it’s helping?
DS was commenting tonight that the pictures his cousin (DS Carol’s daughter) had posted on FB of her DD’s softball team (her middle daughter is 16 & plays traveling softball in the summer and has a full ride scholarship to a Michigan college after her senior year in h.s.) in a tourney in Kansas this weekend. They live in IN as does DS Carol. DS commented that there wasn’t a lot of social distancing going on (team photos - 12 girls huddled up); and not a mask in sight! He said meantime: he went to get a haircut today; waited in car for appt. time; temp taken before he went in; only 2 stylists & 2 customers in the shop; masks required for both, etc. I told him I just pray that they will stay away from DS Carol for 14 days when they get home. 2 of their DSs & 2 DGs were at their house today for a fish fry. I’m guessing not much social distancing or masks involved there either. I’m just OLD; DS Carol is so immuno-compromised I don’t understand them not taking more precautions.
Took Mara home to daddy. He said she’s really tired tonight. She needed a nap as soon as he got her and he put her in bed. Sounds like she’s up again. Over tired maybe.
ok, off to bed in a bit. More tomorrow.
