Another cool, overcast day here in the Dayton, Ohio area. Iggy watered the plants. I did some paperwork, cleaned the feeders, did a load of laundry and put it away, and made the pizza. Hmm. Someone is taking his retirement seriously. I don’t think Iggy is meeting up with his DB. He said something about him needing to spend time with his kids and DGKs. I think his DM and I got to him about DB not taking precautions.
I hope you all have a good Sunday.

Becky, I don't think I've ever had a yellow melon. Is it more mellow so the juice wouldn't taste like anything? Did you at least get to eat some of it? Sorry about the couple from your church. Like Linda, I don't understand why people would wear masks in and then take them off once they got into an enclosed environment, even with social distancing. I hope the couple contracted it somewhere else and didn't pass it on to anyone in church. I don't blame you for being wary. Are they still recording and posting the service or are you having to find church online from some other place?
Yes, that is quite an article, Linda. Are you blistering hot again today? More yard work on your agenda?
Chele, I like the sound of "cool, overcast". We've had bright sunshine but storms moving in, so it's clouding up. YAY on Iggy listening to you and DM. How much covid do they have in her part of the world? That's not one of the countries I have heard mentioned as having rising numbers. You've had a busy day. Enjoy the pizza.
I heard Vegas is starting to open, Denise. That should be interesting. I can't imagine the encouragement to wear face masks will be followed and social distancing could be a challenge. Do you know when the casinos there might be opening? I wonder if they even have yellow beans in cans still exist. Aldi has a frozen veggie mix with green and yellow beans and carrots, but they don't have it all the time.
Kathy, did you ever get rain? I hear your covid cases are continuing to skyrocket. Are most of them in South Florida? Is DM ok with staying in for this long or is she getting itchy feet? If it wasn't for Osteo, I would be fine with staying home most weeks.
Hope you're having a good weekend, Liz. What's the word on the 2nd wave there?
I figured out this morning why the Johnson grass was growing so high. Dale fertilized the blueberries and I think he got a little generous. I wanted to get started weeding first thing but Dale wanted to put bigger shelves in the garage and needed help going through the stuff that was accumulating there, so we did that first. I got about an hour and a half of weeding and Dale spelled me for a while. Then I had to go out and finish weeding and put down landscape cloth with pine bark mulch on top then restring the soaker hose because I had to remove it so it didn't get damaged during weeding. I ran out of landscape cloth and mulch, so I didn't get the job totally finished. I don't know if the landscape cloth will be enough to keep the Johnson grass from coming back because one of the stems poked a hole in it while I was putting it down. Even not finished it looks so much better. I did find 2 blueberries, so I guess that will be my harvest for this year. I'm worn out but did the usual load of workout clothes that included what we used to work in the yard.

Karen, I got tired just reading that!
Denise, casinos in AZ opened with plastic between slots, but people are stupid anyway. Vegas opened a couple weeks ago and a lot of it is empty except for a couple crowd spots.
Only mid June and we now have fires and warnings for summer. North rim of canyon is closed off , big one just contained by Wickenberg, huge one north of Tucson and smaller ones around Phoenix area outskirtsAnd in Eastern mountains. I guess Mother Nature though virus was not enough. Smoke from S.CA reaches here. 12,000 acres and wind today north of a Tucson.
glad Iggy is being cautious.
Last year I was at DB's with his sons and their families 4th of July...two of us have birthdays near it. This year his daughter and her two sons whom I have not seen in almost three years will be here. But I cannot see us going with all those people and three having flown recently. It will be too hot to stay apart outside even dangling feet in the pool, too close inside the way things are arranged. Nephew and DSIL are both diabetic,so maybe they will not see much of anyone any way.
museum was supposed to open Monday And I was going to bring in the two huge folders of articles for archives on CCOVID here and get more big paper clips. There are a lot of categories. Three inches since second week of May and only half way through June. But city is postponing opening because of the awful spike in cases.
biggest numbers are 20-44 range but hospitals are filling up.
They actually have registration for July art classes with masks and distancing but I do not want to be inside with people for two hours or more.
Been being good last three days...not easy watching spouse have cookies, jelly beans and ice cream..I have not weighed and am not going to for a while because if it is not going well, I do not want to get discouraged.Last night I grabbed an old bra out of drawer to walk dog and it felt quite tight.then I realized I had not put on the two inch extender I have used. Cannot say waist is loose.
Did more deadheading and transplanted a couple flowers not doing well where they are and worked soil a bit for better absorption and drainage. Cannot do much because I do not go out until almost ten. Just not lark enough.

Becky, my sister got the 2 month deal when she tried to cancel WW too. Free is good! Nice to get some extra produce. That's scary about the couple from your church.
Denise, the Florida Covid numbers are really spiking since they've started reopening things, but the reopening continues. They said a lot of the new cases are younger people, so our hospitalizations haven't been going up that much. I hope your yellow beans do well. I think your governor has been doing a better job than mine with the reopening.
Chele, another feels like a sauna, overcast day here. We had a heavy downpour earlier this afternoon, but it didn't last too long. Just long enough to make things extra steamy. I'm glad Iggy has decided to be cautious.
Karen, that article was depressing, but probably true. They said the majority of our new cases are ages 20-35 and that hospitalizations hadn't gone up much, at least so far. About 65% of the new cases are from South Florida. DM would like to get out, but is being cautious like the rest of us. I do feel really bad for her and her sisters since they're in their 90s and having to waste this time at home when they're all in relatively good health.
Liz, hope you're getting to relax this weekend.

Linda, yikes on the AZ numbers! Ours are spiking up too. I know a lot of employers have required people to get tested, so I think that's part of the reason for the spike in the younger people. Hate to hear about the fires there already.

Linda I don't know the reasoning behind taking mask off once inside. The first few weeks they were mandatory I heard but the pastor doesn't wear one when he preaches and said people could take them off to sing. However I noticed in the bulletin last week they were just recommended not mandatory. When the posted in FB about the couple they did say be sure and wear masks but since we weren't there I have no idea if people did or not. moonriver Most of our hair salons are closed on Mondays but maybe they don't where you live. Chele LOL on Iggy taking his retirement seriously.I'm glad he didn't meet up with his brother. Karen They sell yellow meat melons at HEB. Some are seedless but this one wasn't.We did eat some of it.It really tasted better warm than cold. They are still recording services but they are delayed one week so today's won't be available until next Sunday but that's okay with me. Linda Wow on that fire. Kathy Same way here.Texas numbers are spiking every day but the stupid governor thinks people will wear masks because it's the right thing to do and shouldn't be mandated by the government.Right!
