Simple Sunday today ....looking for ways to keep the Plan simple and working for me...
Also a reminder that today is SUNDAY and a day to STOP over doing it! lol I think I'm ready to slow down today. Just one errand on my list: I want to pick up River Rock for our border around the back yard along the house. It needs re-filled as over the years it gets a little scattered. I think about 10 bags should be plenty.
I spend about 3 hours yesterday puttering around and weeding. ONE are left, which is just behind the deck but no hurry. I have time. I did accomplish a lot yesterday by weeding the entire back of the house and now it's ready for more rock. I sprayed Weed Killer on top of this shallow layer so hoping to add and fill in with more rock and that should be it. Oh, still need propane tank refilled - but that's an easy trip to our local Garden Center. I don't think they sell bags of rocks only Truck Loads lol - like our mulch, I prefer the bags so I can easily do it as I have time and not deal with a driveway full of rocks!
Today is plenty of sunshine but still, temps are very cool! Not complaining too much but it would be nice to sit outside in the sun if the wind wasn't so strong and making temps feel even colder. Right now it's 47 degrees out - brrr - but inside we are holding steady at 68 and I am NOT putting the furnace back on!! LOL

I bought topsoil to help with transplant of some Day Lilly's plus I wanted to fill some uneven areas of our back yard. Well, ColbyGirl thinks the fresh topsoil is her personal sandbox! Plus she has started EATING the fresh dirt. It's driving me nuts. This whole morning while trying to have coffee she has been staring at me wanting to go back outside in the yard...to eat dirt. Nooo!! DH can't stand when she acts like this so he just let's her out and says, "oh well, comes with having a dog" but he knows it drives me crazy!! Plus she wants to chew on the newly transplanted area! This is why my backyard is such a mess...grrrr
Later today Carly's Ben is coming over to help lug the heavy bags of river rock to my backyard and he'll help me spread it. Should be a quick job but muddy/dirty. Afterwards I promised him dinner - I'll make a lasagna since it's so cool outside and not at all hot/humid like most summer days. He seemed eager to help plus enjoy dinner! lol
Oh, our Roku arrived. Took some time to set up all the different streaming channels the girls have - I have Disney+ but the girls share their passwords for Netflix, AmazonPrime, and Hulu...last night Gary and I watched an episode of The Crown - it was a really sad one! And he didn't want to watch anymore lol He prefers watching Designated Survivor - ehh, it's okay, but way too fast action and I have to stay focused!! lol Carly suggested I might like Sweet Magnolias - anyone else streaming that one on Netflix?
I tracked my day to plan for the salad and lasagna for dinner. I agree with our Carole, most weekends I am so busy with my chores or projects I don't eat lunch! But I have been making sure to take plenty of water breaks as I really don't like feeling 'off' from lack of water when gardening! That feeling (dehydrated) stays with me longer than ever!

Gabrielle - how was your long run? Hope yesterday was a good day! Lisa - good for you exercising s-l-o-w-l-y as your injured muscles heal...I'm proud of you for starting to walk. It's hard as I know how my knee and back hurt and you don't want to push it too far! How's Kennedy and Avery doing? Getting adjusted at home? lol Sue - I'll need to check FB as I have no idea how it's going in NC but I am going to say, 'Fabulous!' just for you to get away! Shelly - safe travels back this way! Hoping DSIL really can help with the driving - how many hours is it?? Jo - thanks for sharing Em's Graduation Pictures!! She looks so proud! Jenny - yes, Congrats to your Audrey for another awesome semester. And under such difficult circumstances! Does her high school also provide laptop/tablets for each student? I know the local private school here does but then, it's part of the student tuition... Hoping everyone can enjoy this Sunday and keep it simple!! We have enough stress out there! LOL

Good morning Christine - Thanks for starting us off this SIMPLE Sunday... I am feeling lazy today... woke from a weird dream, involving Matthew, that woke me with such strange feelings - just thinking about all I want to do today, but don't feel like doing anything! Already feeling pressured about being ready to go back to work tomorrow - ugh, just a weird state of mind this morning!
I need to refill my coffee and go back a couple of days here... every time I tried to catch up Friday and Saturday - someone was here talking to me!
COLD here today - only 45 degrees when I got up - only 56 inside! Turned on the stoves, warming up nicely in here - and outside... but MAN that was a cold start to my day!

Gosh, guess I have to go all the way back to Thursday!
Christine - Sorry your Wednesday was so distracted... yikes it does sound like it was a rough day for you! {{{hugs}}} Hoping you did have a good day back at the office Thursday!
Jo: YAY for the MRI being scheduled a little sooner... and yes the wait will be "long" but you have work to keep you focused for most of it - right?? It will go by quickly. Only 5 more to go!!
OH YAY - your back to work week will be a short one! So you can head to PA! JUST YOU??? No DH? NO KIDS??? WOO HOO!
Gabrielle: Whoa - 70 minutes of driving? I'd opt out too... I know the TM is not your favorite way to run - but yikes, saving that kind of time hopefully helped your day! Good luck getting folks back in the office... LOL IF I had a choice, I'd bring my stand up desk home and set it right IN the bay window!!
Thanks - but I am slacking on water this weekend (as usual), and have a headache to prove it!! Woke with it, and it is not going away! Well a part of me still hopes Eden gets to public school - or private school, if they could do it! I know they would love to get her into the Christian School, but the it is in VT and would require driving her up and back 40 minutes each way... that's a lot to "take on" and commit to! Yes, I am sure if I emailed Josh about the masks - he'd send another email reminder - but seriously, it won't matter... unless certain individuals are "called out" they will not take it seriously.
OH dear... sorry DS20 has moved out - but yes, then again it's probably best. Has he thought about how and when to head to OR to empty his apartment up there??
OH dear... yes a lot to think about - head to SO Cal or not?? I think I'd go - but for me I'd be leaving the whole traditional Fourth of July - cook out - family - birthday for Tim - blah - blah - blah... Oh I hope you decided to go! I want to go SOMEWHERE for my July vacation - but DH is not "on board"...
Shelly: WOO HOO for getting out of town!! Yes it will be a LONG tiring weekend, but OH SO WORTH IT!! Hope you are enjoying a morning of rest before heading home today!
I hit Home Depot yesterday - and bought DH a new mower... kind of "pricey" but it's what he wants, so decided I got a fridge to make MY life "easier", it's time he got something to help his life as well!
Hoping he gets it put together and charged today - so he can mow today or tomorrow... it's a rechargeable electric one!

Good morning!
Wow, yesterday was a blur and never got back on here...had a Zoom meeting at 1:00 (lasted for about an hour) and then...not sure what all went on. I am definitely in a funk though---feeling so much like all that I do is work, clean, cook, grocery shop. I am glad to get a run in, but that is about it. Don't go anywhere...yesterday I kind of lost it with DH too. He is doing his long runs too (it is why I switched to Saturdays--so that we could have some time together in some way)..he is running trails though and I run roads. There is now a group of about 30 people running trails and about 5 of us who run roads. I can't run in the poison oak...just can't do it. So, he has started meeting the group, waiting for everyone to finish, they they visit...he is usually gone for 10-12 hours. So, I get up, do my run (sometimes with other people, sometimes not--those 5 people really vary in speed, etc) and then I get home and clean the house, do laundry until DH gets home. Then I cook dinner and maybe we watch tv and then he is exhausted from the long day and goes to bed early. Sunday I get up, do grocery shopping, clean some more and do work. That has been our life for about 3 months. I will go to So. Cal and he will not (since he can't leave the ranch) and that is probably the only thing I will do this summer that is not work/cooking/or cleaning related (unless you call a 3-hour run a "get away"). It all kind of hit me yesterday and I don't see this changing for months. The days I have off? Will be do do more intense cleaning, most likely. Wow, I didn't realize how much it was bothering me until yesterday. DH asked if he did something wrong, I said, "No, it's me...I need to find some other people or something"...the problem is, I do not think it is a good idea to be around 30 people or so right now--especially since my mom relies on me and I need to see her. So, it is what it is, but I am struggling right now.

Finally Friday was a very long day/night... it was a nice night, but "difficult" too. We knew it would be, but I think it was actually "easier" with NOT being at the usual relay event... being THERE may have been worse? I was expecting it to be more emotional than it really was... it was "weird"! BUt it's over...
Jo: Oh my... sounds like a terrible Thursday for you!! Glad you and Steve got to go out for a quiet dinner!! WHEW!
Christine: Sounds like a good plan for your day off... LOL Well sleeping "out" is not Jaclyn's first choice - but she does it once a year for Eden! This year they have the camper - usually they are in the tent - behind our relay site! I can't say much, I am NOT a "camper" in any way - shape - or form!
Oh yes... the next 2 years will be "interesting"... I know I am so "ready" for my Tracy to move out, but... then again - for the most part she is more help than bother. Biting my tongue is getting really - REALLY - difficult some days! OH DEAR... The Prince/DL "STRIKE AGAIN"! Making unmanageable demands on parents and YOU... Good luck there! We know you will figure it out - and make it work... but OH MAN... {{{hugs}}}
Gabrielle: I think you are right - no matter what you plan it may change... YAY to sleeping "in" a bit... LOL Must have been too cold for the dogs to want to go out! Oh I do hope your WI was good - considering all the vegan meals last week! YAY for getting your pantry "up to snuff" for both WW AND Vegan! WOO HOO for you getting out of town too! Good luck with the flight - I hope it is not overcrowded! But you know what to do... the mask - the sanitizer - short flight... all good!
Oh thank you for your donation to our team... truly appreciate it ♥ Yes, actually a guy driving through stopped and asked what we were doing - then he handed my sister some cash/coins... emptied his pockets! LOL
Jenny: OH NO! Your week wasn't so good either... how's your back doing now?? Yup, hope you enjoyed your wine and pizza, and have moved on to the new week!! YAY for 1# down!! LOL "eye candy" hired to work with you... hope they know what they are doing too!! WOO HOO to Audrey! Congratulations on her GPA!! Good going Mamma!

Christine: I am so proud of you and all that you have done in your yard! it seems like, this year, you've been especially focused on it! LOL about DH and the sad show...I remember years ago convincing DH to watch the show "ER" with me and it was a REALLY sad one...he looked at me and I am sure he wondered what I saw in it! I really like the series that Carly suggested--- I think you would like it! A nice, light story (it has some emotional topics, but they feel like they end with someone being supportive). Aren't you "off" soon? I was thinking that you were taking some time off. I get it about the girls staying at home to save money...if DS20 was in full-time school now and close enough to home, I would probably be more forceful. As it is, he is feeling the need to be independent and so I support it. We talk most days anyway. Linds must be so happy---feeling like she has a sense of what is next! Such a great opportunity for her. Yes, I think you do deserve some downtime today. Hope that you enjoy it!
Lisa: I saw you popped in yesterday--it sounds like you are nearly 100% since the bee incident, is that right? I hope so! Will you be riding your bike soon? I hope that you can--isn't it great to be able to travel further and just get outside? I am not sure where you live, do you have a bike path or something? The roads can definitely cause some angst with bicycling. Hope that you are having a good weekend!
Jenny: How is your back? That all sounded so painful! Hope that some time off work is helping--what a rough week! Did you attend your workshop yesterday? Mine starts at 8:30 am so I will most likely go. Good job continuing to see the scale move downward...how is DH feeling? Is he able to get out for walks and things to keep active? I read that OR is "slowing down" reopening...we have some areas of CA that should do the same and I hope that it happens. I think that we all should expect that surges will happen and provide us with feedback to be more vigilant with distancing and masks. Have a good day!

Strong Saturday... not "too" strong here! Woke up kind of early, got up, knowing Eden wouldn't sleep late... well she was coming inside as I was coming downstairs! That child does NOT sleep IN! It was chilly here, so after breakfast we let our guests use the hot tub... Tim was gone, as he had to head home to shower and get ready for work. He left while I was in the shower - never even said good bye! I was a bit miffed by that - and I mean, hey we DO have 2 showers, he could have gotten ready for work here? Oh well, whatever...
Jaclyn and Eden headed home around noon, I think... then Tracy & I headed out to Home Depot and Wal-Mart... stopped at Applebee's to bring dinner home - was a good day, but OMGosh hectic! Just one thing after another while out shopping - turned what should have been an easy trip into a bit of a fiasco... but it's over...
I am just in a bit of a "funk" or a "mood"... maybe the weekend, maybe just me... but need to move forward with getting things done here today, before the work week starts again!
Christine ~ Yes much cooler here too! Not liking it - to be honest. Maybe part of my mood? Glad you had such a nice day Friday... and YAY for DD LINDS!! Now maybe she will come home and get a job! Now that she has something to look forward to... and plan for... {{{hugs}}}! Good job Mamma ♥
LOL I too went out to sit on the porch IN the sunshine... while the others were in the ho tub... we have a full service resort here for h-our guests! Oh yes... many horns were honked as folks drove by... our neighbors actually came (she always does the survivor lap so DS invited her to join us) and it was a good night.
Thank you... I am so VERY pleased with my window... not sure what we will do in the "space" but right now I like it NEW - UNCLUTTERED - OPEN... we still need to do the finish work, more compounding and then painting - but we knew that going on, so it will get done "someday"! Right - Friday night was chilly - I came home to put long pants and shoes on... then sat by the fire... but no rain... and no overnight! Home and in bed by 12:30 AM!
Lisa: Ouch to new tires, but yes, they are indeed a MUST HAVE item! Glad your weight has "settled" back down, yes moving on from there is a good place to start!

Carole: I loved the picture of your family ---I believe it was in front of your sister's house with the porch? To see you all there committed to the cause and the luminaries out front---what a great group of people you are! Warms my heart. I can see how having it different this year may have offset some of the floods of memories that might have happened over and over.....you are a strong woman--I am so amazed at your strength. I am also so happy that you love your window! Sounds like it was a nice, hard-working crew...worth the wait! I am glad that the working from home situation ultimately was good--I remember how anxious you were about it. Just sorry that it won't continue. Hopefully it will feel more routine soon.
Sue: Safe travels!
Jo: Hope that you had a nice celebration for Emilie--thinking that you may have done something after the ceremony? The photos were so nice and she looked so happy!
Shelly: Hope that your time away is feeling like just what you needed!
Okay, need to get going. Need to make a better grocery list so that the trip to the store is a good one. Have a good day ladies and I will see you later (probably tomorrow if not much later today)!

Well I guess my Simple Sunday is off to a simple start... here it is 10:30 AM and I am still sitting here - not dressed - having coffee... and not hurrying myself in any way! Ken and Tracy seem to be flitting about - getting things done... Eh, that's on them... if they didn't want to do it - they too would be sitting down enjoying a Sunday morning!!
Christine - LOL Thank you for validating my laziness this morning! It IS Sunday... I will get the usual laundry - dishes - cleaning done... cooking/prepping will be "on hold" as I don't want any more food in my fridge! LOL We have leftovers from last night...might save them for tomorrow night - and see what I can do for tonight? Eh, I'll worry about that later! Or we will order out! HA! Oh My... 10 bags of river rock?? WHEW!! THAT won't be good for your back! UGH Sorry Colby Girl does't "get it" that the yard is not her personal chew toy. LOL OH YAY that Ben will help lug the bags of rock!! I'd love to see a picture of all you are doing! OH yes, a good day for lasagna... wish I had thought of it! LOL
I will need to move on to water soon, had enough coffee I guess... headache is going away - so don't want to bring it back!
Hmmm, haven;t seen much on FB about Sue's trip - of course I try not to be on there too much these days... Still too angry and depressing!
Sue: Wishing you safe travels ♥
Gabrielle: Even on a Saturday? Zoom calls?? Seriously hun - you need to learn to take a day off!! LOL
Oh My Dear Friend {{{hugs}}} to you! I get it... and I thought it was DH that was so darned "Anxious" about being with people??? 10-12 HOURS?? Holy Smokes... and yes, I agree large gatherings are still so "up in the air", and yes you do need to keep it minimal to be able to help your DM. Oh I wish I could come out there and social distance on your deck just to VISIT with you - hey, STOP CLEANING! LOL I am sure your house is not in such a "mess" it needs so much attention... I think that's just what you are doing to fill your time... wish you could just sit back for an hour or two each day and NOT think about everything... So SO Sorry you are having such a tough time... I agree you need to find someone or something to take your mind off work/cleaning/shopping... you have gotten so good at planning - it seems to be all you do! You have to plan for everything... work... Zoom calls... cooking... meals, shopping, cleaning... YES GO to SO CA and enjoy your time!!
Thanks, yes the picture was in front of my sisters house, their yard is quite small when we got everyone there! LOL Oh and I may not have been walking laps, but that day I did get 10 out of 10 dots on Fitbit, and got my 6k steps for the day!! Today will not nearly be as good! LOL
I think I am not as "strong" as you seem to think... I am a bit of a mess these days. Not taking care of things as they need to be - even at work -I spend time just sitting at my desk, letting my mind wander... I go to my room practically right after supper, as I just don't want to spend time with anyone after a long day... not even Ken and Tracy... I prefer to be by myself most of the time... hence I think why I'd like to work from home! I find myself easily irritated - angry - sad - I am cranky - jealous - and absentminded... and most days I don't even like myself!! I think my work will be more routine when others get back to work too. In our office we are fully staffed, and yet the branches are still not open. SO they have tellers trying to do CSC work, and having to call us in OPS more often than not, because they don't know what they are doing! I just want "normal" even if it's a NEW Normal... I'd like everyone getting back to their normal jobs at least - so we can all do our own work!

OK I guess I have bored everyone quite long enough... and once again, Tracy is hovering... and decluttering around me! Think she's trying to tell me something??
Right now I am having difficulty dealing with her... she is always so VOCAL about every news story she hears... of course she works for a police department - so we KNOW which side of everything she is on... and yes she has a voice! LOL
I will begin my cleaning/dishes by getting the fridge cleaned OUT... toss what I know we won't keep, and just have everything ready for coolers tomorrow night. The freezer will be emptied today - into the back freezer, if I can make enough room in there for everything - but then again some stuff in the kitchen freezer will be tossed! I will tell Tracy tomorrow that I do NOT want her refilling the fridge Tuesday - I want it plugged in and getting COLD before I come home and I refill it! Thanks ladies for your back up on this being MY Project! Still just love sitting here looking out the new window!! Makes me happy. Will try to CBL, not sure how the day will go with the mood I seem to be in... but as it warms up outside I will resume powerwashing so maybe it will help Just being in the sun may do it for me - even if I am working!
♥hugs♥
