Happy Monday. I have a trip to the post office planned. I need to send some certified mail. Fingers crossed that customers a d clerks are wearing masks. Then it is a-Krogering I go. I didn’t make it to the grocery last week and the shelves are bare. Even the carnivore would like more fresh veggies in the fridge. We couldn’t get everything at the market.
Linda, sorry to near about the fires already blazing. It is a shame that you won’t be able to visit with the family, but I wouldn’t risk it either. Our museums re-opened last week. We have a downwards curve as of June 14. I am sure you are going to miss your art classes. Do you plan on starting a project of your own?
Becky, I am glad you and Kenneth are being cautious about attending services. I hope the couple who are ill have an easy recovery. I have had yellow melon and it is a lot milder than red. Iggy and I both prefer our fruit at room temperature.
Kathy, I am sure your DM and her sisters are tired of sitting at home. Do they visit at the end of the driveway or via video? We are in a warming trend. We should be 90° by the end of the week. Blech!
Denise, casinos and racinos are due to open on June 19 at 50% of maximum capacity and customers will be health screened at the door. There is a Hollywood casino in Toledo you can go to if you feel safe about venturing into such a place. Masks are not mandatory, however.
Liz, back into the fray. I see there was another large gathering in the city, 15000 in Brooklyn. Sheesh. When did people forget about the pandemic? They were packed in there like sardines. I hope you and Gary and the pups are well. Any news from dentist? Found a rheumatologist?
All right, ladies, I am off to start the day. Take care.

Chele, hope the trip to the PO and Kroger went well. My shelves are pretty bare too. I put in an order for DM yesterday and I'm going over there later to pick up a few things I ordered. She has a table in the front of her garage now that we use for exchanges. Life sure has gotten strange! The sisters live in different cities, so they haven't been visiting each other. Their phone lines are buzzing though. It's a good thing they don't get charged by the word! Your weather is getting close to ours. It's nicer out today, but hotter. I was rudely awakened this morning by someone pounding on my front door. By the time I got there, they had gone to the side of the house. It was Duke Energy replacing my meter with their new Smart Meter. So much for social distancing for people that answer their doors. I wasn't going to open it anyway given that I wasn't dressed and wasn't expecting anyone! They had sent a flyer out saying they were replacing them "soon", but didn't give any date or time. It's definitely a Monday!
Waving to everyone.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Did you have a successful trip to Kroger? I didn't realize you didn't go last week, so I'll be the cupboards were bare. They always have nice produce but the one here is just too crazy. Was everyone masked? I saw photos from the farmers market on Friday and even some of the vendors weren't wearing masks and neither were many customers. I think I'll be avoiding it for the time being. Congrats on your downward curve. It could be a while before that happens here. Our numbers are still going up! up! up! Sevier County is up another 15 caes since yesterday and they showed all the (unmasked) crowds in Gatlinburg this weekend, so I see the trend continuing but many of them are tourists, so numbers will not just spike here. One woman actually said they came here due to our "relaxed" standards and she didn't feel that everyone was responsible for keeping the virus from spreading. There's the problem! The casino in Toledo was built after I moved. I'll bet that cleaned up the riverfront. It was pretty skanky when I lived there. Your weather is going to warm more quickly than ours. We won't hit 90 til Sunday. Right now it's 72 because we had storms in the area (we didn't get a drop). Low to mid 70s here until Thursday.
Linda, that shirt is TOO FUNNY!! Those fires look scary! I'm surprised they are even thinking about holding art class, given how your numbers are rising. I wouldn't go either.
I know staying at home all the time has to be difficult for DM, Kathy, but I'm glad she is being sensible about it. TG for the telephone. YIKES on the rude awakening. When our local company was changing out the meters, they sent out a "soon" notice but then called the day they were coming. It's good that your hospitalizations are down, despite cases increasing. Is the increase in 20-35 year olds stateside or just in your area? USA Today had an article about all the local and state health department senior staff who are resigning and retiring after threats as a result of closures, mask mandates, and the like. Incredible that some people think that kind of behavior is ok. Are you still living in a sauna?
Becky, how was PT today? Are you enjoying those fresh veggies? We boxed up our wifi equipment to return and it's going to Red Rock, which I don't think is too far from you. The other one is coming from Mesquite. The first one we had was from outside Houston. I don't know why Texas seems to be where all the rural internet companies are located.
Hope you have a quiet night at work, Denise. How's the reopening going there? Were there more protests this weekend?
I paid dearly for pulling all that Johnson grass yesterday. I'm allergic to it (yes, I should have been wearing a dust mask) and I have been really congested and have been upping my allergy herbs to try to cope. I couldn't even get the neti pot to flow this morning. I went for a swim and it cleared things up a bit. Good thing because we have a MG meeting this evening, so I need to be able to talk my way through about 40 minutes without having to blow my nose. Could be a challenge. I haven't felt like doing much today but did a load of our around the house clothes. Hopefully I will be more productive tomorrow.

Ouch, Karen. I feel your clog. My voice was. Croak or squeak for a while this morning...ragweed.
ran out of fruit and almost all salad stuff and bread. So since I was going to Outdoor nursery for flowers where all workers wear masks ( only customer midday Monday) , I stopped at TJs with my one N95 mask. Things better there...20 customers so more than three feet difficult, but most in masks. Two men and two old ladies not, whom I stayed far from .they now have a long blue line to each register you must stay behind while checking out, 6 ft markers, a large plastic shield. On the way I realized my prepaid debit card needed cash and we needed cash...atm by myself with mask and gloves. On the way back I looked down ad saw I finally need gas...more cash (lot of card skimmers) , mask, gloves. When you disinfect yourself and handbag and key before getting Into car each time, it sure adds time. Long time getting four bags of groceries and a 12 pack of fresh peaches dealt with. Hand hurt from all the sanitizer and washing, Should be able to stay at home over a week.

My county ...which includes 4th largest city in country, tests only people who are sick and think they have it or think they were exposed. Ten day lag on test results. Fastest increases in the country. 75% dead were in nursing homes or asst living ...bad state for oversight.

Thanks for the start Chele. I hope you got everything you needed at Kroger.
Kathy You would think they would have given you some notice.I wouldn't have opened the door either.
Karen Our numbers keep going up especially Travis County.Adler put them back in Stage 4 of reopening and extended their stay at home order until 8/15.We got up to 95 today and the humidity is back.I was more stiff today so they were working on that. This particular therapist lubricates my leg all up with something and then sees how far I can bend my knee back. She said my numbers are better than the last time and I have great movement in my knee. She also said the hamstring is getting better but my IT band is still tight.I had that problem before surgery.I googled Red Rock and it's in the southwest area of the county.I had heard of it but never been there. It's 12 miles from Bastrop. We are considered more in the northeastern area of the county. I think it's mostly because anyone who lives in the country can only get rural wifi. All Kenneth has left of the veggies is 1/2 tomato but I have plenty of cucumbers to last about a week.
