Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Looked at the forecast for the week. Looks like itās going to be a good one. Rain not expected until Friday. Temps starting out a bit cool today, warming up a little every day. No major high heat expected. Itās going to be a good time to start walking again. I took my Fitbit off last week, I donāt like wearing it when I donāt have plans to walk.
Cool enough for oatmeal this morning. Yum. I found a couple of recipes for baked apple cinnamon oatmeal, need to put them through the recipe builder to see how many points they are. I only get 16 daily points since Iām on the Purple plan, so I use them sparingly. Seared pork chop , whole wheat couscous, green beans on the menu for dinner.
Estimate for electrical work is Thursday. I made sure the areas in my basement are completely clear where heād need to work. That meant I cleared the area where the sump pump will go. It wasnāt as bad there as it looked. Iām putting the last of the shelving units together today. By the end of this week everything should be on the shelves. I still have things that need to be moved into the garage for eventual pickup, but thatās almost done too. Iām very happy with the decluttering progress in my basement. Still have a few āshould I keep or tossā bins, but if I can at least label those bins and put them in shelves I can get to that stuff later.
Iām hoping to get electrical done in July, then Iāll schedule sump pump install and replacement of my outside spicket. That will probably require the pipe to be changed out, itās really rusted. I will be thrilled to have that done this summer.
I usually do go to church with DB and DSIL, but they went on Saturday to check things out, I went yesterday. Next Sunday weāll go together on Sunday.
Ruth - prayers continue for Carol. I hope she doesnāt get exposed to the virus. Even though I am doing a lot more, I am still vigilant, wear my mask when around people, take my temp 3 times a day. Thatās not going to change. NY is still mandating masks and people generally comply. I think thatās why Iām feeling comfortable going places. This week I do want to go to my favorite restaurant for breakfast. Iāll call ahead to see I need to keep a reservation. They will be 25% occupancy.
Enjoy your day.

Joyce, you seem to have a good plan in place with the home projects. It must make you feel good to see everything you accomplished. I have a few of those ākeep or tossā boxes that I am trying to go thru.
Ruth, the PT is definitely helping me. I can go longer but after this week I plan on going once a week for 3 or 4 weeks. I need to do the exercises and stretching on my own because the knee will be an on-going problem and getting worse as time goes on. I know what you mean about some people not taking this serious about social distancing. Things will open more here this week, and then we will see if that makes any difference in the cases. Here the restaurants will open to 25% inside seating on Wednesday. When Bill got his hair cut it was the same way as your son. Let them know you are there, wait and someone will come out to get you.
I noticed here that the grocery stores are not wiping down the carts any more. In fact Samās and the other store where I shop are out of wipes and hand sanitizer during my visits. I always have some wipes and hand sanitizer with me but some people just come in, grab a cart, and off they go. We have done take-out a few times and been to grocery stores, drug stores or Loweās, actually there isnāt really any other places open. The casinos opened on June 1st and so far there doesnāt seem to be an increase in additional cases. Someone at PT talked about going to the one casino several times already, and he also isnāt good about wearing his mask, GRRR!.

Good afternoon all. I had a long post written, but hit a wrong button and lost it. I know I should start doing this in notes on my iPad and then transferring! Ugh!!
We ran errands earlier. I had a coupon for $18.99 each to get comforters cleaned. Wasnāt sure if it was for dry cleaning only or washing them. My washer isnāt big enough to do them and Iām not comfortable going to a laundromat yet. Anyway, we took 2 of them and that coupon price was good for either method. One Iām going to donate and one is off our bed. The donate one we bought for one of the guest rooms when we moved in here 20 years ago; and it still looks like new, but our older DDās dogs have slept on that bed and there was some dog hair on the comforter. Iām not comfortable donating to someone who might have an allergy, plus it was looking a little dirty around the edges, so want to donate it ready to use. I have another one upstairs that I bought new then also; it will go to the cleaners when I get these back. Their new coupon starting tomorrow is $1.00 more. Oh well. Iām just ready to update the guest rooms after 20 years. And these are in such good shape I might even try to sell them before I donate. Who knows.
We ran into Samās Club; and we found the same thing Dottie; no one cleaning the cart handles; and about 50/50 on masks inside. We tried to stay away from people and we touched one door handle so I could grab our wipes and clean our hands before we got into our car. And washed with soap & water when we got home. May not go back there for a while either.
We tried going out to eat last night. I really really wanted a mango daiquiri and our local Mexican restaurant had made good ones. So we decided to try it out. Was really disappointing on several fronts. We were virtually the only ones in there wearing masks; not 1 of the cooks or servers or hostesses were wearing masks (they are apparently only a āsuggestionā in MN, not a requirement); they sat us in a booth with people in the booth behind us; 6ā apart is supposed to be the ālawā; the drink tasted like it was made with something other than rum so it wasnāt even as good as Iād hoped. We wonāt be going back there again for a very long while; and it will be a good while before we try eating out inside any restaurant again. Maybe outside if itās nice out, but no inside. Just was not comfortable with the whole situation. Oh, no paper menus; no paper napkins (cloth); no disposable plates, flatware, etc. not good at all!!
DS/DIL picked up their car this morning. The replacement one that they bought on Saturday, but couldnāt get to bank to get $$ for until this morning. Apparently Mara approved! They have DSās in getting an oil change and tune up today and then they leave tomorrow for 3 nights / 4 days for their get away. Not sure if we get Mara tonight or tomorrow morning.
I have my appt. to get my CPAP on Thursday afternoon. So looking forward to that. Iām so tired all the time and most afternoons / early evenings I can hardly stay awake. As Sandi Long (other CB thread) told me, I may need to consider separate bedrooms from Stan. Heās up and down so many times and I hear him 90% of the time and then Iām not sleeping well. I donāt know how heād take that, but Iād have to move upstairs to one of the queen beds. Thatās only a problem when Mara is sleeping in that room.
Joy, you are doing so well with all your cbāing and house projects. Will be nice to get things done. But it seems like the list never ends!
Dottie, thatās so good that the PT is helping. Stanās knees are going from his running. Iām afraid his career as a runner may be short lived. Hopefully we can get back to walking.
Ok, need to get a couple things done. Need to find out if we are getting Mara tonight or tomorrow morning.
more tomorrow!
