Afternoon all....unfortunately the boys got out-played and lost the first game but it did get us home sooner and have an extra couple hours to just putter and get ready to start the week. No more cooking today because the next two weeks we will use the last of the La Cucina gift certificates for the "Dinner for 5 Family Meals" before they expire on July 1st!! That makes it easy for planning....I do want to make some HB eggs today at some point but right now Jason is in my way finishing portioning out the last of the "lazy lasagna" to go in the freezer for lunches those weeks we don't cook a lot!! He's heading out to mow next so he will be out of my way!!
Time to finish catching up so back to yesterday....
Christine...YAY for making it a "satisfying Saturday"!! LOL...Gary sounds like Jason when it comes to water!! Easier to just let them have their way on this one and work around their "oddities"!! Sorry for the scare from Colby Girl but glad you is protecting your from that stray!! Hopefully your day stayed with NO plans!! Good idea to get the walk in early!! Glad you and Carly had a nice day on the bay in the kayaks...great idea to get the touring style to help with the wakes from the boats but sounds like they were few and you didn't really need them!! LOL....Linds is your dare devil eh??
I heard Christine that you finally "go green" in your county next week...only one left in yellow is Lebanon County....they were the one county that actually chose to open prematurely despite Gov. Wolf's orders and now they are still well above the 10% positive cases criteria and are not doing the proper testing and tracking to help get the numbers going down!! I can only imagine the chaos this will cause now?
Jo...I'm sure you were drained after the MRI...2 Xanax would knock me on my caboose...I'm assuming you had to have someone drive you home?? Hopefully you were able to bump up your fluids after the test!! WOW, that was fast for getting the results....glad the "mass" was just blood vessels....that has to be a relief! Hopefully the GI doctor concurs with your Dr and the plan to lose weight will help get your liver back in a more healthy state!! He has no idea the reason for the enlarged liver??? Could it just be the fact that it is "fatty" and it enlarges it a bit?? So glad to hear some good news...no, not perfect news and you have work to do on your part but should like with diligence you can turn most of these issues around....healthy diet can really help so many things!

Jason finally finished getting the lunches portioned out and down to the freezer and then he put the pans in the sink about 1/3 to 1/2 full of COLD water....OMG, he drives me crazy and wonders why I just want him to get OUT OF MY WAY and let me do it myself....you can't soak a greasy pan, cakes with cooked on mozzarella cheese with cold water!! I yelled at him and told him to go eat his lunch and go outside...sometimes he makes me CRAZY!! So I washed up those couple of baking dishes, put the HB eggs in the IP and now I can catch up....I can see the IP from the computer so I will know when it has finished and done natural release of pressure for 5 minutes and then I'll get them out and in the ice bath to peel when I'm done here!
Carole...yes, I did get up and stretch, walk around a bit between innings....lawn chairs are not always the most comfortable for hours on end...but it was only about 1 3/4 hours total so not too bad!! Actually only took about 55 minutes to get to the ballpark...easy to find place, easy on and off the main roads too! Always nice when it's not too tough a drive to find it, park and get to the field itself!! After the game the coach gave them a great "pep talk" and critiquing....he calmly told them they got out-played and why!! He pointed out things they need to work on and why the other team did better. This is Colton's first year on this team and according to Sarah the coach is very supportive but has high expectations too! I really like what I see so far...the boys all listening intently to what he had to say and if he singled someone out it was not degrading but very positive as to how together they could fix and improve the issue!!
LOL Carole...sometimes you do just peter out and it's easier to just get up early to finish up anything that needs to be done!! Sound like a WIN-WIN for both you and Zoe in the pool yesterday...she got to swim and have solo time with you....you got a good workout!! Might find a few sore muscles today as the time goes by!! Glad you got your haircut and have the next one on the schedule!! Your hair has to be shorter if it has been cut since the end of February!! I'm sure it will be fine when you style it yourself!!
Honestly Carole...I don't blame DS either for not going back to work...at 67 she has reached full retirement and can get medicare so go for it!! I know I would!! I'm only working until 65 for Medicare and then I'm out!! Glad her knee is doing well!!
I had to wear a mask yesterday for my massage and it really wasn't so bad...I brought a disposable one that is light and easy to breath in....the ones I wear for work are heavier and I thought it might be too much! Yes, it is just the "new normal" and now that Lebanon County is paying the price for NOT doing what they should and having huge spikes in cases....it's a small nuisance to keep things moving in the right direction!!
Yes Carole...I still feel great today after my massage...all my aches are still gone and hopefully they will stay gone for a while!! I will say that IF the back issue warehouse is my next position I WILL be getting a new chair!! While the one in the office is better than anything at the handwork tables it is NOT great and if that is my permanent spot until retirement, I will NOT be able to live with that chair!! LOL, I don't blame you for preferring the hotel over the surgi-center waiting room. Much more relaxing at the hotel. Even if you can stay, nothing says you can't go back to the hotel anyway....it's right next door, isn't it???
Thank you, thank you for hanging onto some of the slate!! I know Lacey will be very appreciative!! Any idea how many???
Carole...I had never heard of charcoal appliances either...apparently it was newer when we got our fridge...I happened to mention to the sales person that I knew stainless was the norm these days but I wasn't a huge fan....she said "well, this is a new option"! When you look quick you might say black but if you put black beside it, it is lighter and has a bit of a shimmer/shine. I will say it doesn't show the finger prints and smudges like regular stainless and I LOVE that part!!

Colton himself had a pretty good day today but some of the other boys struggled. I was glad to see Amanda's dad was there for the game....honestly, he is a decent guy and has never been rude or nasty to any of us, including Josh when he arrives at the house to get Colton....I'm sure he was embarrassed by the behavior of Amanda and her mom but I have a feeling that Deb ruled the roost and he just let her go. He actually said hi to me when he walked by. Maybe once the hurt of losing his wife heals a bit he can talk some sense into Amanda? We can hope, right???
Carole...will be odd to be back to a full work week after having 3-4 day weeks all month!! You'll be fine!! I will say, it is odd but nice to be back to planning for a full week at work. While being home was nice, it was not like "retirement".....knowing that I cannot retire yet being home was stressful and uncertain!! Still trying not to get my hopes up that this FT will continue....and IF they decide to leave me over at the Back Issue WH, it means that Rebekkah, the girl furloughed will be laid off. She has only been at Sheridan since September, and has had some "point" issues so I get that my work record is better and my longevity will be rewarded but I would still feel bad!
Will say that with both DD and DFIL gone, Father's Day is just another day here! Both Jason and I just feel the "hole" that our dads used to fill....we were both closest to our dads and now that they are both gone...it's not the same! Yes, Sarah was quick to give Jason a hug and wish him HFD and Hannah texted to see what time would work best for Jason to FaceTime.....but w/o our dads....it's just us! Will confess to be struggling a bit today but it will pass....
Christine...how sweet of you to get up early to get to the bakery to get Gary his donuts!! I know he appreciated the effort! Question, why didn't you make the girls go...he's THEIR dad!! LOL! Sorry for the line...but if it was social distancing that's a good thing! YAY for Lindsey getting the job so quickly!! I'm sure her customer service experience was a strong pull since many young folks are NOT all that great with customers, especially unhappy ones! The fact she is staying at home for Grad school is also a win for them as seasonal help can sometimes put places in a bind at the end of the summer!!
Glad the Disney party was a success and it seems like a brewery job is a perfect "stepping stone" for Linds to have a later career as a bar tender! LOL!! Just makes me smile the fun you had reminiscing and trying to make up for the missed Disney trip this year!! Sounds like a perfect family night of fun!!
LOL Christine....if you had told Linds to move home it wouldn't have gone over well and the fact she thought it on her own makes it "her" idea and OK!! Yes, Mama does know best but you and convince any kid of that! It's not until they have kids of their own to they realize that mom was NOT as stupid and unreasonable as they once thought! I love it! I love that even after losing your dad in 2005 you continue to keep him "alive" in the memories! I know the girls will often say...."OMG, that is so Papa"!! It's funny that we can see characteristics of DD and DFIL in some of the boys....the girls just smile and I think they appreciate the man they BOTH were and what they gave and shared with them and also the boys. It's nice to see that!
YES GABRIELLE....no running alone and LOTS of water! People have no idea how serious dehydration and heat stroke can be!! If there had not been people in the parking lot to call for paramedics, the outcome could have been very different!! I'm sure all the small shops/salons are happy to start to make a "new normal"! So glad you enjoyed your pedi...bummer about the mani snafu but at least you have it scheduled!! I know Holly was very happy to finally be back to work doing massages even with the restrictions that it requires. She said that everyone so far this week has been very supportive and compliant with what she asks them to do.....She has breathing issues and other factors that make her in a higher risk category for the virus but if her clients are compliant she also feels safe starting to open!! It was so great to see her yesterday!! YES...YES...YES Gabrielle....schedule a massage! I honestly didn't realize how tense my ENTIRE body was until yesterday!! She found every knot and worked it out!! I do think I will take Jason's advise and just schedule one very 6-8 weeks just to "keep things loose"!!
Yes....adopt a couple older cats....we definitely see less "rodents" around here with the cats. Although, Jason says no more when these last ones are gone but we'll see???
Speaking of appliances ladies...do you remember the green and gold appliances of the 60's and 70's??? We had an ugly olive green fridge!! Funny how everything has a time and things come and go....who knows what the "rage" will be 20 years from now....who knows, stainless may be OUT?
Yes Gabrielle...you NEED time off! If you continue to burn the candle at both ends, you WILL burn out and then you will be off and they will need to figure it out!! You NEED to take care of you!!! Sounds like Ed and Max are cut from the same mold??? I know that the girls are both very much me and we have had our share of conflict and since they are like me, they have conflict with each other....as I've gotten older and learned how to "let go" of stuff I'm trying to encourage them to really look at situations and figure out if it really is something that needs to be an argument or if it's just stubbornness and agreeing to disagree is the only way it will be resolved???

Jo....glad your Saturday was uneventful...after your draining Friday...you needed it!! Hopefully Steve can get his rhythm back in line and figure a way to keep it that way w/o the need for another oblation!! YES...I will say that Sherry, the DF from work, went to a nutritionist and while she "thought" she was doing the right things, with being pre-diabetic she didn't quite have it right! They offered many changes, substitutes and she thought it was definitely worthwhile for her!! Well...as someone who is furloughed and uncertain about the future of MY job...I say, as much as you do NOT want the job of taking over your friend's job...this is NOT the time to make waves!! Just go into the 1 on 1 with an open mind, ask LOTS of questions and hopefully things will fall into place and might find it's not so bad!! Hugs to you....these are uncertain times and unfortunately "making waves" at work is NOT something you want to do!
Jo...how great to have Mary Beth doing WW too and help you navigate the food at the lake!! Can't blame anyone for not wanting to travel on the 4th!! When is your birthday?? I forget, mine is July 2nd! If you need IP recipes...Pinterest is a great source and actually FB had a group for IP/pressure cookers....I've done a few of those too....
OK...been hanging out here long enough...no, I have not been sitting her all afternoon...got lots of things done and the only "chore" I have left is a load of laundry....it's time for me to toss that in and relax!!! Got a new week coming and I need to be ready!! Actually when Jason was making the lunches for the freezer, I got my lunch portioned out for tomorrow...when I peeled the HB eggs, I got them ready too.....so tomorrow will actually be an easy lunch box pack because most everything is already portioned out and in a ready to go container!! I've got this...I know how to prep for a work week!!
Waves Lisa, Shelly, Jenny, Nadine and anyone else I might have missed! Hope everyone is celebrating the "dads" in their life....whether here or in heaven...today is the day to celebrate them and thank them for the gifts and guidance they gave us to shape our lives and make us the woman we are today!!
