I'm IN.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
It's a really pretty morning but it's supposed to get hot & humid later. I'll enjoy this while I've got it.
NASCAR (Talladega AL) was rained out yesterday; it'll run at 3 PM today instead. And I have a YM executive committee conference call at 6 PM. Other than that, today is an easy day <jinx><jinx>.
Toots enjoyed his Italian take-away Father's Day dinner (veal marsala; something that I do not prepare at home) and FaceTime and pics of the various Big'Uns & Littl'Uns on a lovely early-Summer day. I enjoyed watching his enjoyment.
Coffee... βββ... and then we'll see...
πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππ

Good morning.
Off to pick the rest of the spinach before it bolts in the heat. I saw the beginnings of a little flower bud yesterday so it is time. After that I'll pop in some leftover annuals that need to go somewhere. The a/c is on already and it will be heating up here later. Gotta slam down the coffee and head outside!!
Wishing all a peaceful day. KOKO.

Happy Monday!
The husband went back to work last night so the dogs and I had the bed to ourselves!! It was HEAVEN!
I got my walk in early today (8:30) because it's going to be hot and humid. Time wise I did OK (about 14:33 minute mile). I really need to go shower now, but I'm hear and catching up on work e-mails.
I had a kinda scary thing happen yesterday. I hate Wal-Mart and try to go only once a month. I stopped after I went to the gym yesterday morning because it was on the way home. I was putting my stuff in the back of my car (I have a green Kia Soul with a vanity plate). There was traffic in the parking lot (not unusual) and I just happened to notice this navy blue pick-up truck in the opposite aisle from me driving slow. I returned my cart to the corral and walked back to my car (about two spaces away) and that same blue pick-up had turned around (still in the opposite aisle) and had stopped in the spaces opposite my car (there were no cars parked there). I made eye contact with the guy, gave a WTF look to him and got in my car, he drove away. It was enough to give me an odd feeling, so when I pulled out, I went the opposite way he went. I was at the stop light and noticed that he was two cars behind me. I made my turn and speed up to get around some cars into the opposite lane. He stayed in the outside lane (4 lane road). Of course the vehicle behind me was slow, I made a last minute turn at the next stop light and he cut off traffic to turn too. He followed me for two more turns and I was finally able to lose him at a hill, turn and curve. He never got really close to me. I was going to head back into town and towards the police station. It really had me shook up. To say the least, I will be avoiding that Wal-mart for awhile. I have thought of several things I could have different, like go the same way he did so I was behind him or turned out of the parking lot at a different exit. I have a very distinct car, so if he ever saw it again, he'd know it was me. I have bought some pepper spray for my key chain and plan to put my baseball bat back in my car! Why does this weird shit always happen to me!
So ladies, please be aware of your surroundings! I've heard of these things happening, but this is the first time it has ever happened to me.
I hope you all have a good day! Positive energy to all!
~J

Morning all and thank you for the start MJ π€ Pouring rain here and dark skies along with it. π Actually I shouldn't be rolling my eyes it is better than the blazing heat. Yes he did linda72 , I think he actually remembered it βΊοΈ burgers and apple pie sounds delicious!!! Wow neen . Maybe you should call the non-emergency number for the local police department. That way they can set up more patrols for the parking lot and hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. Needless to say I am glad you are okay!!! Have a great day everyone!βοΈβοΈβοΈ

neen, how scary. I'm glad nothing bad happened. So often, my head is elsewhere when I'm unloading groceries in my car. I need to stay more aware. Too many awful things can happen out there. Stay safe!

Afternoon all! *waves* I'm in. Hot and humid here today in Houston East *winks at Texas peeps* We dodged the storms yesterday. Last night someone set off fireworks at 11:30 pm. That's never really fun late on a Sunday night. I'm catching up on a few things during lunch. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day!
Glad nothing happened neen, - that must have been really scary.

neen, how scary! i agree with the recommendation to contact non-emergency and just let them know what happened so they have a description of the car and the guy and they (or you) can let walmart security know. in case he's casing the parking lot for people to rob or do something worse to.

neen, did you get the license plate number? Call me weird but when I sense something strange and there is a car involved I always make a note of the license plate number. So upsetting.

fullmahina, no I didn't get the plate number because I was never behind him. There is A LOT in hindsight that I should have/could have done. Got behind him, turned a different way out of the parking lot, etc. If it ever happens again, I will be more prepared to get a plate number and will call the non-emergency number for the police.

neen, I'm catching up and just read this. I'm so glad that you're OK. That happened to me once in grad school. The car followed me and I went to pull in to my apartments parking area and he followed. So I drove straight through like it was a short cut, did that with a few others and headed to the police department. As soon as he saw were I was heading he took off. It's really scary. I'm glad your ok. Quick safety tips- When you are walking alone (on the sidewalk, parking lot, etc) hold your keys between your fingers so that each key sticks out. Think of Wolverine! I was taught this as a teenager and have used it ever since. Hard to do when your putting away groceries but still a good idea for other times. Other tip- when you are putting things in your car, always put your purse in the front seat and lock it. That way someone can't take it from your cart while your not looking. Call me paranoid, but I do a lot of these little tricks. Doesn't mean something can't happen to me, but I figure it can't hurt Be safe
