Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to WW and am trying hard to log everything that I eat and drink but tonight I am confused.
I plan to have a roasted duck breast for tea and so did a search on duck breast on the site. A duck breast with skin (raw) is 10 points, whereas a duck breast with skin (roasted) is 20 points.
Does anyone have any idea why the same piece of food would double in points just because it is cooked please?

why would anyone eat raw duck? i'm guessing there are different weights to both those entries?
i'd put in the points for whatever it is you're actually eating (the cooked one). the other one may be a mistake.

Go by weight since they can vary a lot

Quick thoughts:
1. How many ounces in each serving?
2. Roasted meat is more densely caloric per ounce since its "water weight" has been cooked away.
3. Although the water has been cooked away, the meat has been basted in the duck fat from the skin.

The raw one for 10 points is actually heavier than the roasted one at 20 points; 160g vs 145g
I've decided to type in the details from the packaging in terms of weight, fat, carbohydrates etc and it's come out at 7 points so I'm going to go with that.

yes i think calculating the points based on nutrition label is always best way to go. it will be the most accurate.
